“Well, I think from President Obama’s perspective, the best thing he could do would be to leave office early,” the Kentucky senator and Republican presidential candidate said on Good Morning with Dan Mitchell. “I wish that tonight he would announce, ‘hey guys, I’ve really been a failure as a president over the last seven years and I’m gonna take off early so cause I want to go play golf.’
“I really think Obama has got it all wrong about economy,” Paul added, more substantively, saying Obama likes deficits and market intervention.
“It would be nice if he could own up to that, but his world view is that government is the answer,” said Paul.
Paul, who was recently knocked out of the main Republican presidential debate due to low poll numbers, also addressed his boycott of participation in any so-called undercard debate.
Rand Paul should say he’s a failure and resign from the Senate, the different here is Rand Paul is a failure, POTUS is not. Anyone want to know why Capital Hill is so divided, it’s because of these Republicans like Paul, Cruz, Ryan, McConnell, all of them who hate this black President.

“Last year, an estimated 6 in 10 uninsured African Americans qualified for Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP), or lower costs on monthly premiums through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Many shoppers found coverage for less than $50 a month and nearly 7 in 10 found coverage for less than $100.
7.8 million African Americans with private insurance now have access to preventive services like mammograms or flu shots with no co-pay or deductible
More than 500,000 African American young adults between the ages of 19 and 26 who would have been uninsured now have coverage under their parents’ plan.
2.3 million African Americans (ages 18-64) gained health insurance coverage, lowering the uninsured rate among African Americans by 6.8 percentage points.
If all states took advantage of new opportunities to expand Medicaid coverage under the Affordable Care Act, 95 percent of eligible uninsured African Americans might qualify for Medicaid, CHIP, or programs to help lower the cost of health insurance coverage in the Marketplace.” http://www.hhs.gov/healthcare/facts-and-features/fact-sheets/aca-working-african-american-community/index.html

No he isn’t. He couldn’t even help get Willard elected. And Uncle Biden trounced his creepy-eyed arse in the VP debate in 2012. The only reason he ended up being GOP speaker is that his competition was non-existent!
Right before, during and after PBO gives the SOTU address, I will be seeking out, posting, RT-ing and fav’ing posts like these. Let’s drown out the negative media, GOP, emoleft, PUMA, etc. contingents as we elevate our President in celebration and gratitude and TRIUMPH!.

President Obama’s pay raise for the military is set to go into effect at the end of the week. Despite being the largest increase in five years, Republicans have refused to give credit where credit is due.
As the summer came to a close, Obama ordered an “across the board” pay increase for federal workers, with special attention being paid to those in the military. All federal civilian workers will receive an increase of one percent, while members of the military will get an increase of 1.3 percent. Over the last two years, the military increase was at one percent, while a pay freeze was in effect during 2011-2013. In addition to the raise, the recently signed National Defense Authorization Act has improved the way members of the military can access retirement benefits, as reported by the Chicago Tribune on Dec. 28.
As the Federal Times pointed out, Democrats in the House and Senate had originally proposed a 3.8 percent increase for federal workers, but the proposal died in the Republican controlled House. While pay for members of the military increases depending on length of service and rank, PayScale.com notes that the average salary for a solider is just over $40,000 a year, a number that most people agree is too low…\\\
Hard to disagree with David Brooks on any of this …
“Evangelicals and other conservatives have had their best influence on American politics when they have proceeded in a spirit of personalism — when they have answered hostility with service and emphasized the infinite dignity of each person. They have won elections as happy and hopeful warriors. Ted Cruz’s brutal, fear-driven, apocalypse-based approach is the antithesis of that.”
Which is a statement I rarely have ever made about anything David Brooks says/writes ….
It has been years since I was a practicing anything, but if your beliefs are rooted in brutality, unforgiving judgment and divisiveness, you are not, by definition, Christian. Oh, you may call yourself one, as many hypocrites do, and twist theology to fit your own sick needs, but it’s more to do with an oversize ego than anything Christ himself ever preached. Cruz has a pathological personality that, like Trump, is consumed with self. There is no “salt and light” in him, only an almost overwhelming ability to repel and disgust.
“New governor Edwards says he’s also seeking an increase in the minimum wage, particularly to ensure that women in the state are paid on par with men. That initiative may take some time.
But Louisiana will benefit from the Medicaid expansion within twenty-four hours.”
Thanks to the right wingers on SCOTUS for delaying years of preventive care, diagnosis, medicine and treatment for adults and children.

Donald Trump is actually right about something: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is not a natural-born citizen and therefore is not eligible to be president or vice president of the United States.
The Constitution provides that “No person except a natural born Citizen . . . shall be eligible to the Office of President.” The concept of “natural born” comes from common law, and it is that law the Supreme Court has said we must turn to for the concept’s definition. On this subject, common law is clear and unambiguous. The 18th-century English jurist William Blackstone, the preeminent authority on it, declared natural-born citizens are “such as are born within the dominions of the crown of England,” while aliens are “such as are born out of it.” The key to this division is the assumption of allegiance to one’s country of birth. The Americans who drafted the Constitution adopted this principle for the United States. James Madison, known as the “father of the Constitution,” stated, “It is an established maxim that birth is a criterion of allegiance. . . . [And] place is the most certain criterion; it is what applies in the United States.”
