    Its Sunday morning, so this means it time to ignore the gop nonsense spoken throughout the political talk shows ;

    perhaps I can get some work done without any excuse

      Global, I have not watched Sunday talk shows since I was in my teens (when dinosaurs roamed the earth). On Sunday mornings, my husband and I take a long, lovely walk through the neighborhooden if its raining or snowy. It does wonders for your health and is a terrific way to spend the morning.

      Particularly “amusing” to see those that think its REAL, but aren’t going to DO anything about it. What a bunch of losers.

    Fantastic insights about the past few years in Ukraine …

    • December 13, 2015 at 10:12 am

      An important reference in the conversation with our Ambassador:

      10 Dec 2013

      Following is a statement by Secretary of State John Kerry on events in Ukraine:

      The United States expresses its disgust with the decision of Ukrainian authorities to meet the peaceful protest in Kyiv’s Maidan Square with riot police, bulldozers, and batons, rather than with respect for democratic rights and human dignity. This response is neither acceptable nor does it befit a democracy.

      Last week in Brussels and Moldova, I underscored publicly the importance of all sides avoiding violence and called on President Yanukovych to fulfill the aspirations of the Ukranian people. We put the government on notice about our concern.

      As Vice President Biden made clear to President Yanukovych during their phone call yesterday, respect for democractic principles, including freedom of assembly, is fundamental to the United States’ approach to Ukraine. This is a universal value not just an American one. For weeks, we have called on President Yanukovych and his government to listen to the voices of his people who want peace, justice and a European future. Instead, Ukraine’s leaders appear tonight to have made a very different choice.

      We call for utmost restraint. Human life must be protected. Ukrainian authorities bear full responsibility for the security of the Ukrainian people.

      As church bells ring tonight amidst the smoke in the streets of Kyiv, the United States stands with the people of Ukraine. They deserve better.

      Thank you so much for posting this, Bob! This was so enlightening and engaging…a pleasure to watch….a learning session for me, too! Really, the difference in this interview and one that American “journos” would conduct…night and day difference. I much prefer this to any interview that has been done here…great viewing and a must see. We are lucky to have Amb. Pyatt 🙂

    LOL. Folks are finding out what we’ve known about President Obama all along. Underestimate him at your own peril. Last paragraph in Fallows piece is delish!!

      read this article yesterday.

      I know, from reading his previous work and listening to his verbal comments, that Mr. Fallows is one of those journalists who seems to like, respect and understand PBO;

      my only problem with this recent article is that he thinks that the number of PBO supporters who “fear that he hasn’t really known what is doing” is huge;

      may be I move in the wrong company but I don’t know many true PBO supporters who think this – especially if they have taken the time to listen to him and watch the policies he enacts;

      I thought about sending him a note about this last night but I let it go then

      Yes yes yes! And let me throw this in, in the deepest recesses of his mind I can guarantee you the Bill Clinton envies President Obama. Former President Clinton wishes he could have achieved one of the many things President Obama has achieved. President Obama has beaten them all at their own game.

    yep, like I guessed yesterday, SoS Kerry is already in Rome, working with the various factions on the Libyan national unification government;

    what stamina and dedication!

    as with other public servants working on our behalf, it would be a good idea to send regular appreciation and encouragement to him and his team because these are times of tremendous changes and challenges throughout the world
