    This is O/T, but may be the best article I have ever read on global warming/climate change. It is easy to understand. Believe it or not, he uses lots of sports analogies and it brings this whole thing to a level that is so common sense and easily “gotten.” Written by a weatherman in Denver.

    Who is this Ken M person and can we book him for the TOD Xmas party?

    The responses to Ken M show that a vast swathe of the Internet cannot understand wit. I.e., it’s witless.

      This is how the rich get richer & the workers lose – always the latter have to give up any hard fought gains – happening in Oz now – watch our wages fall.

        during the industrial revolution in Europe there was a rallying cry …”Workers Unite”..this is what is needed today…we are all so divided…by religion…by color…by gender…

    The Vatican has ordered the first ever external audit of its accounts as part of Pope Francis’ efforts to reform the Roman Catholic Church.

    The auditor, accounting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers, will start work immediately, a papal spokesman said.

    Pope Francis has promised to make the Vatican’s finances more transparent after a series of scandals.

    Last year he created a new ministry to oversee papal finances, headed by Cardinal George Pell.

    Cardinal Pell later said he had discovered millions of euros “tucked away”.

      And Pell is heading back to Australia to face the enquiry into child abuse – why he was ever given a job at the Vatican with this Pope is beyond my understanding (or maybe not)

    Anybody in the mood for Christmas yet? I’m not quite ready yet, but working on it. Just spent the evening watching The Polar Express with family and listening to nephew for his clarinet recital. Good start, I think. πŸ˜€

    If I recall correctly PBO has addressed the nation from the Oval Office desk only once since he was first elected POTUS;

    I remember how the media scorned him when he was done – not about the content of the speech but about how he appeared on television;

    as a result, the content of the message he was communicating was lost on many people;

    so, naturally, I am nervous about the way his speech tomorrow will be manipulated and misconstrued – especially given the way many in the media and legislatures have been cowed by the gun lobby and given all these gop clowns who want to push up their miserable poll numbers;

    I suspect that some people somewhere are already writing rebuttal columns or preparing speeches that have nothing in relation to what PBO is going to say;

    queue : his tone was ….., his appearance, …., taking your guns ……. weak on terror …. etc.

      No doubt. We know the right wingers have their criticisms written out before it even airs. And the media will be ready to pouncece on ANYthing.

      It is very nerve wracking.

    • December 6, 2015 at 7:32 am

      they will try to obscure his message…i hope that the DEMS along with the Candidates stand with the President…we have to begin our focus on our fellow DEMS…because those that follow Trump and listen to RW Entertainment Complex may never see that they are on the dark side….we must vote in numbers like we voted for the President…

    Chips, thank you so much for bringing Ken’s tweets here. It did make me laugh. I don’t know what’s funnier his comments or the fact that people actually took him seriously.

    Good morning to Chips and the TOD family. I’m here at the Marriott Courtyard in Miami where I overnighted. I’m heading home from a conference in Belize City – about to leave for the airport.
    This is the closest I’ve been to you and PBO, so my prayers this morning for him, his family, his presidency and you felt extra special. I know God has PBO’s back always; he’ll be phenomenal this evening.
    Have a super Sunday everyone!

    • December 6, 2015 at 7:44 am

      GM PWFO….

      thank you for your thoughts and prayers..

      .i agree…our President will be phenomenal…once again…upsetting those on the Professional left and RW..but i am hopeful that those who voted for the President will listen…and be comforted and inspired…that they will see that there is hope…that the America that they want has to be fought for…that it will not happen by sitting on the sidelines….Organize….Vote….#YESWE CAN……YES WE MUST

    Morning! I smiled all over again when I saw this thread was still up:) President will be thoughtful and spot on…just like he ALWAYS is! Those that have their own agenda will continue to be stupid and ill informed…..those that actually listen will be enlightened with truth and facts. Same as it ever was. Still the best President in my lifetime, will never be another in my life like him. The world will turn and regardless of what anyone says, he has kept us all safe from harm. Unlike those guns that are SUPPOSED to solve everything. He’ll be fine….I’ll watch and pay close attention to his words…and when he’s done, I write and say thank you for taking the time to do that and to inform the public…in other words…’Doing his job” which is something the rest of the elected officials in Washington know nothing about!
