I know two brothers can be different, but, you know…
I think his wife turned him out.
ordinarily, I wouldn’t think like this. But, we’ve been joking too much about the ISIS social media presence, and the way they look to recruit online. And, her being from Saudi Arabia. And, the fact that he couldn’t find a girl here in America. He wasn’t living in Idaho, he lived in California – plenty of Arabs there. The power of the ‘ nectar’…we know it..
Plus….I’m trying to wrap my mind around a woman who would leave a six-month old child to go shoot up people. I hate being ‘blame the woman’, but in this case, I’m suspicious.
This reminds me of that girl from Mississippi who was arrested going with her new hubby to join ISIS…
Hey rikyrah, I thought the same theory the other day. He went online to find a wife – perfect place to feed direct and indirect messages to someone who is searching to find where he belongs in this world – especially when you have a sibling who is a decorated veteran.
They saw him online and primed him, then placed her in his life.
Note – one of the news reports stated that she was in the backseat of the SUV doing the shooting at the cops.
She seems to have been his handler. But I think they also did something to him physically. They should check to see if he saw a dentist, physician, eye and/or audio doc while he was abroad.
Question to consider…as this is still the very much the custom, could this have been an arranged marriage? I know that these days both parties have say in whom they marry, but seems that they met at least one time in Saudia Arabia before marrying. I am not into blaming women either, but I think that if she held these extreme views and he didn’t, he had the option of nixing the marriage (if it was an arranged one). We have seen the extreme views by right wing women right here in this country, so we have to acknowledge how dangerous females can be as well.
Just saw this
“Tashfeen Malik pledged allegiance to the leader of ISIS just before she and her husband carried out the San Bernardino massacre, law enforcement sources told NBC News.
Malik posted a statement of support for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Facebook “just before the attack,” one official familiar with the issue said. And now investigators are looking into whether the Pakistan-born Malik radicalized her husband, Syed Rizwan Farook.”
Bakr al-Baghdadi was arrested by US Forces-Iraq on 2 February 2004 near Fallujah and detained at Camp Bucca detention center under his name Ibrahim Awad Ibrahim al-Badry[22] as a “civilian internee” until December 2004, when he was recommended for release by a Combined Review and Release Board.[24][29][30] In December 2004, he was released as a “low level prisoner”
“In his speech at the forum, Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) said his mother advised him to seek Jewish friends because they are loyal.
“My mother told me one time, she said, Johnny — when I was a very young man — she said, Johnny, if you want to look for a really good friend, get somebody who’s Jewish,” Kasich said. “And you know why she said that? She said, no matter what happens to you, your friend, your Jewish friend will stick by your side and fight right with you and stand by you.”
Real estate mogul Donald Trump, on the other hand, heaped praise on the business skills of Jewish people.
“I’m a negotiator, like you folks,” Trump said, before referencing his book “The Art of the Deal.”
“Is there anyone who doesn’t renegotiate deals in this room?” Trump said. “Perhaps more than any room I’ve spoken to.”
The presidential candidate then predicted he would not gain the support of Jews in his bid for the White House because he is independently wealthy.
“You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money,” he said, adding that, “you want to control your own politician.” And the winner is… “Ben Carson told a story about how the Star of David came to be on the U.S. dollar bill.
Only one problem: There’s no Star of David on the dollar bill.
Carson was telling the story of wealthy Jewish merchant Haym Salomon, who is said to have been a major financier of George Washington’s troops during the Revolutionary War.”
Much thanks to my TOD family members who posted on the last thread that The Wiz will rebroadcast on Sat., Dec 19th, I’ll clear my calendar so I can watch it again. 🙂
Might I suggest recording it so that you can skip through the commercials? They almost drove me nuts last night! I enjoyed it so much. I had the pleasure of seeing The Wiz twice in San Francisco with the original Broadway cast minus Stephanie Mills (Ren Woods played Dorothy). At the end of the performance the first time we saw it, my daughter said to me, “Mommy, can we come back tomorrow?” Well, we had to wait until the next year, but it was well worth the wait.
I don’t mind commercials at times, it gives me a chance to get food, and take care of other business 🙂
But, I am looking forward to seeing it again. Although, I must confess, I kept hearing Stephanie Mills voice in my head on the old standard songs 🙂
I’m really proud of the whole production – in front and behind the camera.
In a short while, I’ll be driving folks crazy with me singing the songs 😀 😀
“it gives me a chance to get food, and take care of other business.” Well yes, there is that benefit! You’ll be happy to know that Stephanie is still in great voice and the acting chops are still there as well.

“Unlike NBC’s previous musical experiments, it’s likely that The Wiz Live! will actually live on in replays and on DVD as audiences try to notice new details, re-experience adored numbers and not have to pause every five minutes for commercials.”
It was so wonderful seeing The Wiz on tv. For those of us in the out country, who haven’t had a chance to see it on the stage, this was such a treat. The sets were so fantastic. I will be dvring it when they show it again on the 19th. I do hope they have it every year. I wonder what the amount of viewers there were.
Back to politics, I heard on the Stephenie Miller show today that Trump signed some lady’s chest (boob) yesterday. That is so presidential. All the Repub candidates scare me.
Their hands weren’t tired with John Crawford and Tamir Rice.

Ohio community lives in fear as rifle-toting white man stalks black neighborhoods with impunity
04 DEC 2015 AT 09:30 ET
A 25-year-old white man got into an altercation with the black owner of a barbershop on Thursday who objected to him stalking predominantly black neighborhoods carrying a rifle slung across his back, reports Cleveland.com.
Saying he has a right under Ohio’s open carry laws to parade about town carrying his gun, Daniel Kovacevic, 25, has been stopped by police multiple times — includingnear the University of Akron — but police say the state’s gun laws have tied their hands despite citizen complaints.
Kovacevic’s actions have roiled the black community in a state where Tamir Rice and John Crawford were recently shot by police while holding toy weapons.
On Thursday, police were called to break up a confrontation between Kovacevic and local barbershop owner Deone Slater who did not want the man with his rifle hanging out in front of his shop.
“He was a threat to my community,” Slater said. “If I can prevent him from shooting up the city, I would. I won’t condone it. Somebody’s got to stand up.”
Slater said he was yelling profanities at Kovacevic when police arrived, and that Kovacevic said little during the confrontation other than to ask him if he was a Christian.
“I told him to take his guns off. I told him let me have five or 10 minutes with him without his weapons,” Slater said before adding that the police seemed more concerned with him than the man carrying the gun, and that he believes race plays a part in it.
“They (police) were more concerned about me than him, as if I were the threat,” Slater explained. “If it were me with a gun, they would have shut the whole block down.”
“He’s a threat to me and my people. He’s a threat to me.”
Police have been monitoring Kovacevic for days after receiving calls from security at University of Akron that he was seen near the school carrying his rifle.
Social media has been up in arms over Kovacevic after his picture was posted to Twitter (see below) when he was seen near one of Akron’s predominately black high schools.
According to police there is nothing they can do, saying they can ask the open carrier who they are, what they are doing and why they are there — however gun carriers are not required by law to respond.

…..
Why didn’t the cops give the same respect to Tamir Rice in their open carry State then? Do they even listen to themselves ?
AKRON, Ohio — The owner of an East Exchange Street barbershop unleashed a tirade Thursday against a man who has been carrying a gun around busy Akron streets, leading the rifleman to call police.
Akron has been abuzz with spottings of Daniel Kovacevic, 25, walking with a rifle on his back Monday near the University of Akron.

Hello TOD.
Finally, TGIF!
My 1st time on the Web today……just in to post WH Presser with the Hon Josh “The Voice” Earnest LIVE and it is already in Progress.
Congrats to all the Gold ⭐ winners since last night.
Yet the News Media didn’t bother to ransack the house of the Killer in CO last week?
Reports that the Landlord was also charging some up to $1000 for the ghoulish and invasive intrusion. Yes, no murderer deserves privacy. I just would like the same treatment ALWAYS on all Murderers.
And that’s how you put on a show! The Wiz Live!may be NBC’s third recent attempt at staging a live musical, but it’s the first one that worked without any caveats necessary. I was kinder to The Sound Of Music Live! and Peter Pan Live! than most critics because I felt there was a lot of potential in the idea of staging live musical theater on TV. Tonight NBC proved my faith was well placed with a musical event that was finally worth watching and not just hate-watching.
It helps that The Wiz is just better source material for a live production than the past two bloated, old-fashioned musicals. While The Wiz isn’t exactly modern (it opened on Broadway in 1975), its radio-ready score and ever so slightly edgy book (there’s a joke about transporting a minor across state lines!) make it immediately accessible to modern audiences. While the show can be a bit plodding and anticlimactic at times (like, for instance, the Wicked Witch’s quick death), it’s smart enough to throw in an upbeat song every few minutes to keep things easing on down the road.
Rather than give audiences a celebrity to rootagainst this year, NBC smartly offered an underdog to root for. Newcomer Shanice Williams is easily the best lead NBC has cast so far, bringing heart and conviction to her modern day Dorothy (dressed in a red plaid miniskirt in place of Judy Garland’s iconic blue gingham). If her acting was sometimes a little low-energy, she more than made up for it each time she opened her mouth to sing. Her Disney princess-like rendition of “Soon As I Get Home” contrasted nicely with her powerful, rich performances of “Be A Lion” and “Home”—two numbers that likely brought tears to many eyes…
[a thoughtful review that makes some interesting observations]
…Really, however, those complaints are fairly minor, especially compared to the much larger issues I had with the past two NBC musicals. It’s a testament toThe Wiz Live! that the most people could find to snark about on Twitter was the noticeable lack of Toto during most of the show. Perhaps that’s because this production really did feel like something special.
Tonight’s broadcast was full of black actors of all different ages, skin tones, and body types playing characters that ranged from saintly to villainous and everywhere in-between (sometimes all at once: Dorothy is probably the most lovable murderer ever written). The show asserted—often explicitly—that these characters are smart, brave, loving, powerful, and beautiful. White audiences take it for granted how often we’re bolstered up by the media we watch. The Wiz Live! sent the same message to black audiences while simultaneously offering up a goofy, heartwarming piece of entertainment for everyone.
In other words, The Wiz Live! had courage, heart, brains, and one of the catchiest musical scores ever written. Really, what more could you ask for?
‘The Wiz Live!’: Gorgeous, utterly sincere and attitude to spare
So now we know: It’s much easier to successfully stage a famous musical on live television if you cast a group of multi-talented, high-energy and personally kinetic performers who know how to own the spectacle rather than the other way around.
Oh, and get Cirque de Soleil involved if at all possible.
It certainly worked for “The Wiz Live!” the latest addition to NBC’s new holiday tradition. Unlike recent live musicals of Christmas past (“The Sound of Music,” “Peter Pan”), “The Wiz” did not serve itself up for live-tweeting snark.
Instead, it brought to the flat screen a gorgeous and utterly sincere celebration of the show that has been a fan favorite ever since it won an armful of Tonys 40 years ago. The Harvey Fierstein-tweaked script had plenty of pop culture references and attitude to spare–when Mary J. Blige is your Wicked Witch, there will be Attitude—but it remained a sincere and joyful celebration of the work.
Put on, it must be added, by a bona fide dazzling display of talent, including Amber Riley, Elijah Kelley, Ne-Yo, David Alan Grier, Queen Latifah and Uzo Aduba. Faced with such a high-wattage supporting cast, even a seasoned lead might be daunted, but newcomer Shanice Williams entered strong and remained the vivid heart of the piece. If her voice thinned out at times when the dancing got tough, she brought down the house every time she needed to—with Kelley and Ne-Yo in “Ease on Down the Road,” with Grier in the show-stopping “Be a Lion,” with all three in the new “We Got It” and in her big finale, “Home.”…
…The only real problem, beside the lack of sneer-tweet material, was logistical. The frequency and length of commercial interruptions went far beyond irritating, into the realm of destructive. Making “The Wiz Live!” a live television event best seen prerecorded.
Why that apartment wasn’t sealed is beyond me, its still an active crime scene. Somebody call in those people from ‘Criminal Minds,’ let Penelope and whatever that brother’s name is try to dig up some clues.
They might want to lock down the apartment for starters. You know, just in case the killers left any sort of communications with other possible terrorist networks.
At the very least the local police should have secured the apartment. When seal team six went to get bin laden they left with hard drives and computers and documents. But for some reason we can’t secure a goddamn apartment.
Back later!
Officially 1st!
Again! Congrats, Don. For once I agree with the Daily News.
GOD KNOWS WHEN PRAYERS TRULY COME FROM THE HEART AND MINUS OTHER AGENDAS. MANY THINK THEY CAN MANIPULATE GOD….NOTTA!
It would be fantastic if the NY Daily News posts the GOP congress members names and pictures as terrorists for voting in FULL support of the terrorist Wayne LaPierre. That would start the right conversations.

And Crosby, Stills and Nash were so off-key….it was amazing!
Ugh – just reading their name has made my teeth hurt, their singing was soooooo bad 😀 😀 😀
AM GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT….EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO THEIR OPINIONS….:)
PBO IS AN AMAZING PRESIDENT…NOONE WILL BE ABLE TO FOLLOW HIM!…PERIOD!

The ‘nectar’ is real folks, it has never lost a battle it is undefeated.
I have been thinking along the same lines. She seems to be the obvious catalyst.
She seems to have been his handler. But I think they also did something to him physically. They should check to see if he saw a dentist, physician, eye and/or audio doc while he was abroad.
Um, its safe to say that something physically was done to him by her, not to put too much of a fine point on it.
LOL!
Might have been arranged. But, they said that he went online and tried online dating sites. They could have targeted him from that.
I mean really, who can’t find a date on an online dating site?

So apparently the Jewish people make great friends, are good negotiators, and will finance your wars if need be.
Each in their own way, insulted the Jewish people.

LA Times:
Making “The Wiz Live!” a live television event best seen prerecorded.

they violated what HAS TO BE A CRIME SCENE?
Have my years of watching Law and Order been for naught?
WHEN, less than a WEEK after the incident..
IS THAT NOT AN ACTIVE CRIME SCENE?
…………………………………………
Why that apartment wasn’t sealed is beyond me, its still an active crime scene. Somebody call in those people from ‘Criminal Minds,’ let Penelope and whatever that brother’s name is try to dig up some clues.
This is a sad indictment of the American media.
They might want to lock down the apartment for starters. You know, just in case the killers left any sort of communications with other possible terrorist networks.
out-of-control
An unsupervised crime scene was unthinkable until this
Media swarming the landlord?!?
At the very least the local police should have secured the apartment. When seal team six went to get bin laden they left with hard drives and computers and documents. But for some reason we can’t secure a goddamn apartment.
The media probably already has it. This is just disgusting.
The media are whores for a little bit of information.
This is truly and profoundly sad.
New post.
