      This is so lovely. What a meaningful sign of respect. On Title track? Not sure what that means but it seems that Coldplay will be using more than a note or two.

      PBO and President Hollande will be holding a presser tomorrow, which I will try to tape as I have a busy day coming up. I am very eager to hear what POTUS has to say.

      especially because the drum beats for war are incessant and so far President Obama has resisted giving in to his critics.

      Do people understand that if you declare a no-fly zone you then have to shoot down any plane that violates that space? Really? You want to shoot down Putin’s plane, for example?

      Next we will see fraudulent polls claiming that Americans want to send ground troops to Syria. Americans don’t want anything to do with war but we don’t count. The decision makers own the military sales companies and what they want they might very well get.

        “Next we will see fraudulent polls claiming that Americans want to send ground troops to Syria.”

        Haven’t we already been seeing some of them?

        Fortunately for the US, military decisions will not be determined by polls as long as President Obama is in the White House. He will do what’s right for the country, not what’s politically expedient. PBO knows better than anyone what a no fly zone entails and he’s made this clear many times if anyone in the media bothered to listen. He also knows what a ground war costs in people, dollars and decades and he will not commit to this no matter how many Republican candidates rant and rave.

    it’s not fair to be placarding this site with POTUS in a barong… all the time. This is not good for those of us with great heart conditions!

    This tweet made me laugh. But I want people to go easy on The Donald because I want him to be the nominee for I remain convinced that should he be, any Dem will crush him. While there is an angry and enraged segment of the (white) community that is devoted to him, I remain hopeful that the American people will find a last minute sanity NOT to elect this foul-mouth demagogue.

    PBO will have his comeuppance in April 2016, when he roasts Trump, Carson and whole GOP clown show of wannabe presidential candidates at the WHCD.

    I confess that watching The Donald’s rally is part entertainment, part chock, part choc, part scary, but mostly part sadness because I live in the same planet as the morons that are cheering every last insanity that he says.

      “A beautiful wall” will be built; America will be great again; veterans will have all the benefits they ever dreamed of; rapist immigrants and craps will be kept out. To each of these promises, a crowded led by some oversize white men whose agitation paints as ready for the “revolution” explodes.

      This is unbelievable!

    report from the ground in Columbus (capital of the Ultimate Swing State of Ohio):

    – the most pompous, bigoted & xenophobic “gop front-runner” (aka, trump) is now in our town for a rally;

    – his campaign claims that the sent out a thousands of tickets (15,000);

    – I have worked as a volunteer (and met) on one of PBO’s campaign rallies in this same venue – from the look of things, the rally today has used only a small part of the room so the published numbers are probably exaggerated;

    – local media has been interviewing the bigot’s supporters and many seem to have driven in from the neighboring states;

    the most crucial things you should know are that:

    – this is Kasich’s home state and home town but recent polls among gop shows Kasich lagging so much behind the bigot;

    – the majority of the gop establishment in the state is behind Kasich;

    – so what they Kasich team has been doing since morning is to get almost all the elected gop official in the state to saturate the air waves with speeches, comments, and interviews criticizing the bigot;

    – outside the venue, you have a very loud & intense gop-led anti-trump rally;

    – then the religious conservatives also protesting;

    – the dems and other groups that have also set up anti-trump protests have been laughing all day and giving interviews saying that may be they should have left the gop to fight among themselves and save their own protest for another day;

    The day has been freezing cold and pity the fools who came out to support their fellow bigot

      Well, Linda, I watched the spectacle with bewildment. Two grown men, oversized and heavy set, were jumping behind The Donald as if they’ve seen Christ The Redeemer. I listened to the wildest claims, the biggest lies, and the vilest arguments. The more heinous they were, the louder was the crowd’s cheer. It was a spectacle… which ended with the song “I can’t take it anymore!”. If that guy continues with that kind of rhetoric, given how fearful some folks are that ISIS (or the government for that matter) is at their doorsteps, anything can happen.

      With the number of weapons of mass destruction being purchased in recent years, anything is possible. And it would not be Muslims or Syrian refugees. It will be those people I watched at Trump’s rally that would commit the deed.

      That “report from the ground” was more informative than all the cable news shows are chattering about! Thanks!

    • November 24, 2015 at 2:18 am

      What a hilarious and wonderful, n the ground, report! Thanks so much GCLinda for sharing your first hand account, from Columbus Ohio about the rally by the “pompous, bigoted & xenophobic “gop front-runner” (aka, trump)”

      The one and only reply (so far) to this tweet is:

      FireFriedman ‏@RealSteveCurtis 2h2 hours ago
      @jbalmert @JHNNsports Perfect time for a drone strike.

      I went to his profile page, and all he has is “Piss on all liberals” and says his location is “Hell.” And some racist tweets.

      So, there you have it. Palin’s old crowd = Trump’s new crowd, just a bit older.

    I think our PM has been talking to your President – a liberal right winger – the man is in the wrong party

    What you need to know about the PM’s national security address

    Malcolm Turnbull has delivered his first address on national security with no mention of the “death cult” and an explicit warning against “machismo”.

    Main points:

    A terrorist event in Australia remains likely
    People should grieve and be angry, but not let that cloud judgement
    ISIS has more smartphones than guns, more Twitter accounts than fighters.
    ISIS is under military pressure
    The government has no plans to “significantly change” its military commitment
    The new five-tier threat advisory system will transition this week
    Counter-terrorism will be discussed at the December COAG meeting

    I think the Thanksgiving holiday weekend will come in at very timely moment this year;

    why: because as they turn to parades and shopping deals, the 3 to 4 day weekend will help calm people down a little bit and hopefully give a chance to break from the hysteria generates around the reporting on the unfortunate terrorist acts;

    at least I am hoping for a collective break as candidate briefly interrupt their campaigns and the regular media pundits got to spend some time with their families

  25. November 23, 2015 at 10:30 pm

    New Poll….Clinton most trusted to handle terrorism. As I said before these polls don’t mean a thing to me. They say just what the pollster want them to say. It is attack Obama time from them. Americans also can be full of alot of B.S. You would think that Americans would realize that solving these problems aren’t as easy as they might think they are. POTUS will go about doing his job, and not paying these stupid polls any attention.

    It must be beyond horrific for them to already charge this monster before the video comes out.

      Why did it take so long????

    • November 24, 2015 at 5:55 am

      This is HUGE,,,,oftentimes…there is no dispute that the officer killed an unarmed victim…but it ws always couched as justifiable…

      that is what kept Officers for being accountable…what will be interesting is what the FOPs reaction will be….

      that video must Horrific….

      The Justice Department has told us how hard it it is to get a verdict to guilty in these cases….for Emanuel to come out with this….they must be confident of the charge holding up in court…

      Watch this space!

      Back in 1991, at a meeting of local Navy command EEO officers, we had a Philly elementary school principal as our keynote speaker. While talking about barriers to learning in the inner city (and, thus, employment in later years), she mentioned that her school had a washer and dryer in the office – and extra sets of clothing – for children who had made it to school, but were embarrassed because they were unattended at home and often wore clothes that would get them mocked and bullied by the other children. (Of course, this can be true, not just in cities, but also in suburbs and rural areas.) There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, at our meeting. I had just become a grandmother for the first time, so it hit me hard. That’s not the only thing we talked about in the meeting, but it’s what I remember most. God bless politicians and educators who don’t just stand around and point fingers.

      This made me LMAO! I should send it to my brother as a warning about long prayers on Thanksgiving. My youngest sister usually reminds him to keep it moving, but this year there is a family reunion/Thanksgiving lunch and one of my cousins told me that there will be three prayers in which my brother, the deacon, is one of the supplicants. What can I say other than #ThanksgivingWithBlackFamilies.

    Reminds me of Sarah Palin and her crosshairs graphic for Gabby Giffords.

      I bet you if BLM advocated the idea that Black people should arm themselves to defend their people and their communities from murderous racists, including those in police uniforms, you would hear very loud calls urging the governments (Local, State and Federal) to enact laws banning the carrying of guns by non white people.
