Chris Matthews: Obama Shouldn’t Be Acting ‘Snarky’ Towards Republicans

    by Josh Feldman | 9:56 pm, November 18th, 2015

Chris Matthews tonight said it doesn’t help forPresident Obama to be “snarky” with Republicans on letting refugees into the United States.

The fight between the White House and Republicans on refugees peaked last night when the president mocked the GOP’s concerns about bringing them in, saying their rhetoric is a “potent recruitment tool” for ISIS and that they’re not as tough as they say if young orphans scare them.

Well, tonight, Matthews said, “I don’t think the president should ever get snarky. Why did he do it there? Why is he making fun of the Republicans

Ben Stein Asks If Obama Hates America Because He’s Black
by Josh Feldman | 2:38 pm
    November 18th, 2015 VIDEO

Conservative commentator Ben Stein said yesterday there’s no doubt President Obama hates America, but asked if that might have to do with his race.

Stein––who last year called Obama the “most racist president there has ever been”––told Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg that Obama is a “bad joke” because of his failed leadership against ISIS.

“I think the question is,” he said, “why is he so angry at America. I don’t think that there’s much question he doesn’t wish America well. He has a real strong hatred of America.”

African Americans pay more for car insurance
    Nov 18, 2015 4:05pm

African Americans with good driving records have to pay far more for their auto insurance than their white counterparts, according to a survey released on Wednesday by the Consumer Federation of America.

The survey looked at good drivers who live in ZIP codes mainly populated by African Americans and compared them to those in largely white areas. It found that quoted premiums were 70 percent higher for African Americans. The average premium for those with similar incomes and driving records was $1,060 for black drivers compared to $622 for whites, the CFA found.

“These findings suggest a troubling pattern of high rates in African-American communities regardless of driver history,” Tom Feltner, the CFA’s director of financial services, said in a statement. “We are not rushing to judgment about why this happens, but it is urgent that regulators, lawmakers, and the industry take a hard look at these findings and address the impact of high auto insurance prices on drivers living in predominantly African-American communities.”

      I agree Rikyrah.
      The parallels are terrifying.

It is the same ugly crap we heard during the Obamacare fight. Which boiled down to RW screaming that they didn’t want poor people or black people to share in what only they were entitled to.
Expressed as “take our country back.”

Dudette posted a description of Fascism and the desire for that is what Trump is playing to. round ups and deportations—OMG.

        November 19, 2015 at 2:49 pm

No it’s not working – the poll it itself a form of propaganda. If you ask a question specifically designed to elicit a spiteful response from certain groups of people – you will get that response. And that’s what this poll is about – forming an opinion, not reporting it. This is similar to the “Katrina” polls the media used during the midterms. The only thing is that this is a Presidential election, not a midterm. The media is UNHINGED right now. They are itching for a war, and POTUS is not having it. They’re itching for a Republican presidency and their boy Jeb Bush is struggling to get even 4th place among a group of pathetic candidates.

    • November 19, 2015 at 12:25 pm

Honestly , who gives a dam what those racists haters think. Republicans don’t want to give President Obama any credit for doing anything.

sickening, isn’t it? I remember when Clinton was President and we still had actual reporters & jounos, every time the unemployment rate went down they made a big deal about it on every news program. Now they just “report” on what the RW says.

Ta-Nehisi Coates won this years National Book Award for non-fiction. Also, Mr. Coates won a genius award last month which comes with a $100,000.00 prize.

      • November 19, 2015 at 12:40 pm

okay, didn’t show up twice. new tactic:

On Monday, 20-year-old Jewell Jones, was sworn in as an Inkster City Councilman, officially making him the youngest elected councilmen in the history of Inkster, Michigan!

In the final hours of his campaign Jones said, “The goal is to show our young people that something like this is very much attainable. The goal is greater than City Council, but always with Inkster in mind…I would like to do great things for our City. That’s why I’m running. That’s why winning is the only option.”

Congratulations, Jewell! You’re an inspiration to young people everywhere. Who knows, a run for the U.S. presidency could be next!

The way I feel right now about the GOP policies and rhetoric if two turkeys were named Republican and Democrat I would say save Democrat and kill and eat Republican. I would even enjoy eating that turkey.

Once again, it’s time in my composition class to read Cry, the Beloved Country. The book about South Africa two years before apartheid became official policy It is a deeply moving book, and speaks to our country today, today even more than previously. We watched the first part of the movie today…..James Earl Jones and Richard Harris are the two main actors. At the end of the segment a charcter mentioned the hate and divisiveness in the country. I stopped the movie there and gave my sermon: I told them not to listen to politicians and preachers who are preaching hate and fear. That hate does not drive out hate, love does. I told them that Sunday morning our pastor prayed for ISIS…and said, they need prayer. I also told them that at the end of our service, in our closing prayer we always close with “love one another, every single other.” Then I told them that the terrorists in Paris were not Syrians and said there was no reason to be afraid of refugees….women and children! Then I quoted the first part of Emma Lazarus’s poem on the Statue of Liberty…..”give me your tired, your poor…..” etc. and reminded them that the first pilgrims on the Mayflower were not elite, but really outcasts. I have three lovely Muslim girls in that class. Age 18 is the time to make an emotional and intellectual impact on people, and I will keep preaching. I feel this so strongly.
I’m going to make copies of the Lazarus poem and give them out in class next week.

Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey’s campaign manager sent out a fundraising email, based on his opposition to letting Syrian refugees into Pennsylvania.

“Senator Toomey believes nothing is more important than the security of the American people. To that end, he is pushing to suspend the admission of Syrian refugees into the United States until we are able to determine, with full confidence, that there are no security risks among them. … If you agree with Senator Toomey, that nothing trumps the security of the American people, join the cause here.”

The link brings supporters to a “contribute” page.

This is my Senator…i hope we can vote him out in 2016

I am getting depressed. I have so many right-wing family and friends on Facebook I hardly want to go there anymore. And I’ve been arguing on Twitter with people who just don’t get where others might be coming. I’ve been called a racist for sticking up for POTUS. And apparently Dems in the House are cowed by bigots. I can hardly believe what’s happening in this country!

Sometimes I used to wonder why people didn’t get involved with politics in the first place, because how could a person not want to know what’s going on. I’ve got friends that couldn’t tell you who the Secretary of State is or who the Attorney General is. I’ve always wanted to know what was going on with regards to politics.
