I commend the students at Mizzou. They have been well organized, peaceful and determined!

Well done, young leaders, well done!!!

I don’t care for this headline. It makes it appear that the faculty walk out was the reason the president quit. USA Today is a rag!

I think that was last straw. I suspect this would’ve dragged on much longer without their support. But we all know the student protests were the catalyst. Kudos to them all.

Dudette, I’m beginning to think that Carson actually revels in these historical fantasies. The more he gets attacked by the media, professional historians with ‘facts,’ scientists or thinking people of any sort, the more popular he may become with those who think all of these people are evil. He’s playing to a very narrow base now, but he has somehow convinced himself that this will carry him far. Sad to say there are many people in this country whose paranoia and anxiety make them feel comforted by lies–the more exaggerated the better.

I agree JG. It is sad. I take solace in knowing this guy will never be President.

I’m one of the few people out here who is glad we have a long election cycle, so all the crackpots and loons can be whittled away from the field. Our useless media really just holds the mics to the candidates mouths so they can spew nonsense and lies with no pushback of facts, let alone analysis. They’re interested in ratings not cultivating an informed electorate. So it takes time for the truth to
come out. Too many people just go for the shiny object without looking below the surface and throw their support to the first person who rattles off a couple of soundbites they like. Sorry to say to but, we call ours the greatest democracy but do so little to protect the institution or it’s integrity. Hopefully people will actually participate in the franchise this time – before it’s gone.

  24. November 9, 2015 at 12:22 pm

hf ..analysis that the some in the media would use Carson’s inefficiencies and lies as a way of attacking the President is proving to be spot on…Ari Fleischer tweet from this morning…is proof

So proud of My President’s embrace of social media as a means of communicating outside the Washington media bubble.

Downside is we’ll have to wade through more of the disgusting troll comments on FB too.

      • November 9, 2015 at 2:15 pm

PBO is really firing on all cylinders regarding social media. He really and truly gets it and his use of it has been phenomenal since he entered the WH. It’s not just an afterthought or a half-hearted faux sense of engagement.

I had a beloved choir director when I was I teen who ADMITTEDLY used to walk into church a little late to show off her outfits. One Sunday when we were performing at an away church, she entered late and tripped and fell flat on her face.

Her children could be heard saying: “Was that mama? Duck your head! Duck your head!”

That’s how I feel about Carson…I just want to duck my head. Such an embarrassment.

    RIP Katherine MacDaniels.

Here we go. I knew one of the toddlers would ask about the University of Missouri’s president. Who better than April in that toddler’s voice? Always a childish question framed as “What does the President think about it?”

Another Obvious reason why the DNC needs to OK for more debates.
The base Needs to know that there are Leaders trying to fight for them. It gins up the base. It is educational, informative and darn it, it keeps the base interested in their activism.
