Off to see what else I’ve missed today before reading this one though……just in case it’s a follow-up. 😀 😀 [I’m one of those who has to see the beginning of the movie. 😉 ]

BLM activists came in singing trying to disrupt. H is handling it just right. Speaking about history of racial issues. Invokes Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, Trayvon and Sandra Bland.

Crowd just stood up applauding and chanting “Hillary”. H says if they let her outline her policies they might like what they hear. They just keep singing.

She just keeps on talking – way to go! Now talking about criminal justice reform and PBO’s task force as good start. BLM kids keep singing. Crowd yelled “Let her talk. Let her talk.”

Finally they left — not thrown out left on their own.

    GA TODville.

Thanks NW for mid-day (for west coasters) roundup. Very scary and concerning situation in Texas — please keep us updated on this life-threatening weather. Stay safe, warm and dry — hope you have all the essentials to comfort you during this apocalyptic day.

    Lots of injustices reported here.

This one hits close to home, and is about the most appalling and shameful thing I’ve read recently.

Growing up during the Cold War era, was frequently reminded that the US doesn’t treat people like those on the wrong side of the Berlin Wall. For a brief time during my childhood had a Border Patrol neighbor, who IMO was very rough around the edges — some scary people are employed by this organization.

Arapaho, thank you for highlighting this. There is something so frightening going on in US policing that I don’t recognize my country anymore.

This is the actual scenario of biting the hand that feeds you.

Other than those who live in communes or farms, Americans rely on immigrants to pick our fruits and vegetables, work in our slaughterhouses.

You know first hand how family-oriented many immigrants from Latin America are, how generous and caring they are.

Yet this person was burned alive to try and make a better life for himself/family.

Appalling that there is no DOJ or DHS investigation. Hope @mattdpearce’s tweet inspires @LorettaLynch to action and DHS to review internal INS policies and conduct.

H says I’m sorry they wouldn’t listen bcz the solutions theysay they want I intend to offer. Crowd applauds.

Ticks off: militarization of police weaponry, body cameras, community review boards, community policing, training…

… Mass incarceration, changing laws regarding drug sentencing, prison reform, eliminating private prison, ban the box so ex-offenders have a fair chance at employment, break the cradle to prison pipeline.

Mentions how GOP talks encoded racial language.

“Instead of demonizing President Obama they ought to be thanking him for saving the economy.”

Dudette, she’s not President Obama–no one could be–but she’s trying and for that I give her points. If she’s the nominee, as seems likely, I’ll will do everything in my power to turn out the vote for her.

She did really great today! Lots of folks liked what she said and how she delivered it. Exhibited some serious grace in the face of the disruption. I’m glad the singing/protesters weren’t thrown out. Dems don’t need that kind of optics.

Thanks, Nerdy, for this great post. It seems that having to “remain in place” during this flooding disaster has inspired you to deliver a brilliant summary of things we need to know. As Nena said, “You’re a Champ.”

H says “I’m a proud Democrat. When Democrats are in the WH, America does better. ”

“But I’m not running for my husband’s third term or President Obama’s third term, I’m running for my first term… I intend to build on the progress they made and take us further…”

“I intend to build on the progress they made and take us further…”

      Umm……”they,” who is they?

        WJC and BHO
        Would be the “they” 😉

          October 30, 2015 at 5:26 pm

One of the “they” gave us DADT and DOMA. The other “they” ended DADT and DOMA and got healthcare passed. And on top of that, one of the “they” told Kennedy before he died that back in the day the other “they” would be serving us coffee. In not going to sit up here and let Hillary try to mix Barack and Bill record together. Because that’s what she did, and she did it half-ass at that.

Really glad I got to attend Hillary’s event today. Well done by all.

We just walked in Paschal’s restaurant (an Atlanta institution for decades). Sitting at the table across from our booth is former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

Special Ops troops are deployed all the time. A couple weeks ago some were sent to Africa. The media never mentioned it, but now they are in full meltdown over less than 50 going to Syria ?

    How funny
