Since it’s you and me, Pamela, what do you think of Harry’s beard? Personally, I’m not fond of it, but I am glad he’s reaching out to do something important in the world. Whatever his role is at home, he will be better at it for working with the inspirational FLOTUS and 2FLOTUS!!!

Jackieg, happy to see you here. Heard the blimp is headed your way; it’s cable has taken out power lines in it’s path…

Oh, just great. And the asteroid whizzing by (maybe) on Saturday morning, and space trash flying back in where it belongs, on Nov 13, all kinds of potential for more disasters! As if the GOP isn’t enough of a problem for us all.

Hi, Jazziz, Mr. G and I got a good laugh over the headline that a 2.7 billion dollar blimp was wafting over Pennsylvania. Right now it’s so dark, rainy and cloudy, it could fly over my house and I wouldn’t see it. I will, however, be seriously annoyed if it takes out our power lines.

Now that I am seeing it on the laptop screen, I do kinda of like it, but beards in general uninteresting to me, especially so on handsome men (very especially on women!) – I like Harry, and I think he is quite a good looking bloke, but if he likes his beard, I’m okay with that!! I think Diana is smiling down on her boys, they are pretty real. 😉

MP, beards seem to be a growing trend among young men. My nephew has grown one and says that they’re very popular in NYC. It’s one of those trends, like mullets, that I hope soon fades into history. And yes, the Windsor boys seem to be doing okay. I think Charles learned from his father how “not” to parent and so has made a special effort with his sons to be there for them without smothering them.

        • October 28, 2015 at 6:22 pm

Yes beards seem to be a trend, and really big bushy ones too. I don’t like them although I don’t mind a small trimmed one. But the big Jeremiah Jones ones really seem disgusting. Of course I’m pretty sure the guys sporting them don’t give flying fig what I think!

    How ’bout this? 😀 😀
Extra officers have been drafted in for Wednesday’s two matches in Manchester after police were forced to separate groups of hooligans following Sunday’s derby.
For the first time in six years United and City are at home on the same night with more than 100,000 fans expected in the city.
And while United play Middlesbrough and City host Crystal Palace, Sportsmail understands an extra unit has been brought specifically to prevent trouble breaking out between supporters of both Manchester clubs.

Ya might wanna alert CNBC that CNN viewers might not be tuning in tonight for the horror show aka RWNJ debate. CNN has gotten wind of a U.S. military blimp that’s on the loose (I believe from a defense contractor) in Pennsylvania. CNN will no doubt be playing this story ad nauseum until said blimp is found, similar to the old Balloon Boy wind trails of 2009. Sorry, right-wingers!

Brian Williams said that these blimps were used all over Iraq.

Military official tells him….. Ummm No they were NOT, there are only 4 of them and they are used exclusively right here.

Williams is a pathological liar earning millions a year.

I just read a report the blimp cut loose from Maryland, and is heading towards PA. I dub the ‘GOP debate” to be just another shot at reality teevee, since not a single one of them has a clue about the real world most of us live in.

So Donald Trump’s supporters will be so happy if he win so Trump’s wife will bring class back to being First Lady. Class is not what they want, they want WHITE back.

Bella, Trump has brought out all the misfits, racists and misogynists and made them feel justified in their prejudices. He sells snake oil and they lap it up because he’s a loudmouth and billionaire so he must know what he’s talking about. The kind of true “class” that Michelle Obama has brought to the White House is way over their heads. They have no idea of the issues she’s tackled or the hearts she’s touched. Since they live in ignorance, it guides their thoughts and their words.

Nena, this heartbreaking news about the young woman’s recent loss of her mother must have been known to her teacher. How could anyone stand by and let this happen to a girl who has already suffered such tragedy in her life. I hope she does not have to return to this hellish school and is given a chance to start over again in a supportive environment. She needs love, nurturing and an accepting school to help her overcome all the traumas in her young life.

Did you see this from this morning?

[in my best Dana Carvey as grumpy old man voice] In my day, no cops on campus, high school days were filled with classes, gossip and the thrill of a to-die-for crush glances, flirts — cannot imagine what it’s like these days.

        Article headline:
Violent South Carolina classroom arrest adds to ‘school-to-prison pipeline’ debate

        From the article:
… “the deployment of an estimated 14,000 officers on campuses across the country, a number of them carrying weapons, and a number of them now tasked with duties that go well beyond holding shooters and gangsters at bay.

In many districts across the country, common discipline problems that were once the purview of teachers and school administrators are being handed off to armed police officers. And infractions that once resulted in detention may now leave students with criminal records — a phenomenon that critics say disproportionately affects African American students.”

The student’s arrest also puzzled me:

Life is even harder now for the South Carolina teen assaulted by ex-Deputy Ben Fields — she recently lost her mother
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 2:41 PM
In an interview with the Daily News, Todd Rutherford, the respected Columbia, S.C., attorney representing the assault victim of the recently terminated Deputy Ben Fields, revealed that his client, in addition to suffering injuries on her face, neck, and arm, is a recent orphan living in foster care.

While her identity, no doubt, will eventually be leaked to the media, it’s the goal of her foster mother to protect and care for her as well as she can considering the circumstances. She communicated to us that the young victim is devastated and emotionally traumatized by all that has happened to her.

Oh good Lord, help us. I just heard an I terview our local NBC anchor did with TN’s Republican Party chair. “What are we going to hear tonight, Ryan”? The failed policies of Barack Obama, how to get regulations off the back of our employees and employers blah, blah, blah. Then, he repeated the line about the failed policies of BO and how bad our economy and taxes are ……. And he included Hillary Clinton the second time……her failed policies too. WHAT???????????? These people are such a sad and embarrassing spectacle!

  28. October 28, 2015 at 5:44 pm

ah, to be a republican white male. former gov. mitch daniels gets pulled over doing 22 m.p.h. over the speed limit, then runs a stop sign, then opens the door right away, yet the officer walks up to him kind of apologetically and let’s him go after learning who he is. hilarious hearing him make excuses the whole time too despite his party acting as if they’re the party of “personal responsibility” all the time. disgusting hypocrites. all of them nowadays in the republican/libertarian party (same thing).

all the years she’s spent denigrating and covering up president obama’s enormous successes, yet jokes around with lindsay graham like they’re partying in a frat house?!? can they be more sexist? and to top it off, it’s well-known that lindsay is in the closet. amazing that nothing ever happens to these “journalists” such as bash, except to get promoted as long as they buddy-up to republican constantly.

PF, I felt I was watching a slave era whipping. The students repped the slaves made to silently watch; the teacher/administrator repped the “good” slaves who kept the others in line; the cop repped the overseer who administered the punishment. The young sister that spoke up repped that ONE slave who stood up, only to also receive punishment! Chilling…
