it’s not “denial!” my god, how hard is it to understand they are ON PURPOSE trying to change the historical record in the minds of as many voters as possible, and the owners of “the news” are leading the effort. people need to stop treating them as dumb or incompetent, which sort of gives them a pass for the evilness. they are working a very deliberate plan to lie and fool the low-info voter. the modern republican/libertarian is straight-up evil. for real.

completely agree. It’s so idiotic to pose the idea that they are just trying to fool themselves. The reality is very apparent that they are actually trying to rewrite history.

I agree with you 100 percent! Republicans, aided by the corporate media, have been re-writing history since 9/11/2001. I guarantee you that if the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened under president Obama, Republicans and the media would have made sure that he was impeached and removed from office.

still nothing from neil degrease tyson about #astronomynight at the white house. he just went all ed snowjob-fanboi so i sure hope he wasn’t just fooling us all these years about being smart. i mean neil called a guy a “patriot” who lied to get a job specifically to steal classified info from the united states, then take it to china and then putin in russia. it takes elementary school level logic to know that’s the opposite of a “patriot.” maybe neil has some other motivation, but whatever the case, he’s not trustable for the foreseeable future.

You know, I”m sue President Obama could care less if Tyson is there or not. However, if Mr. Tyson thinks that snubbing a president who has been nothing but supportive of scientific concerns like climate change and space exploration; who has done everything he can think of to encourage young people to take and interest in science, then he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. So I hope I hear differently. I hope he had just had a tooth pulled or a family emergency and that he soon starts to celebrate what happened at the White House last night. –

Well, nena, this IS a group that’s in denial. These donors gave all their millions to support a man who’s embarrassingly incompetent as a candidate and needs to go home and join the local Rotary. I also think they want him to stay in the race in case they have to force a nominee on the Republican convention to prevent a full out lunatic from taking the whole economy down.

This is why I want this decision made……already.
Nothing gets the Useless US Media going than a Shinning Distractions……..This has been going on long enough. I know I am in the minority here. My main take is the US Media will rather talk about VP Biden than the GOP Speaker problem…..The Debt Ceiling……The Budget……The Climate issues…….etc, etc.

That “you made it happen” is solely for Canadians (I did nothing other than vote myself) – thank you on their behalf. God, did I ever miss you guys! There seems to be a difference when I take off by my own choice to read, and when I absolutely cannot tune in because I’m otherwise engaged for a solid 24 hours! At least there is a difference in my psyche. 😀 All I did yesterday was work in a poll for 15 hours straight, most of that time sitting down, but I feel like a truck ran over me. Anyhoo, as you all know Harper’s out and, hopefully, change is in.

The pundits have NEVER understood the financial collapse of Greece and when they say Canada, the US or any other non-european country will become Greece they show this lack of understanding to anyone who is listening that has a brain (thus excluding most RWNJs)

Greece failed because it has NO control over the value of its currency & because it lived on the economic success of other European countries. In past times Greece would simply have devalued its currency, massively reduced imports and worked on reducing its foreign currency debts – as many countries have done in the past. The Euro changed these options forever.

The US and Canada are in control of their countries both politically and financially. When any pundit (posing as an economic masters) says this

“Voters, for some inexplicable reason, have given them the licence to turn Canada into Greece” – they don’t have a clue.

The Reason Trump will win this latest Eye Opening on 911 against any predictions by the NY/DC Pundits….
Below are exerts from his 2000 book……before 911.

“I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers,” wrote Trump in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. “No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen.”

Trump even mentions Osama bin Laden by name, in a criticism of an American foreign policy that too quickly jumps from one crisis to the next.

“One day we’re told that a shadowy figure with no fixed address named Osama bin-Laden is public enemy number one, and U.S. jetfighters lay waste to his camp in Afghanistan,” The Donald wrote. “He escapes back under some rock, and a few news cycles later it’s on to a new enemy and new crisis.”

While Canada prepares to work on infrastructure renewal and job creation, the GOP gets paid for being racists, bigots and dumb and ensuring nothing worthwhile is passed in congress.

Reading the full description of what is wrong with this legislation explains everything that needs to be said about Donald Trump and his suggestions for running the country. He has NO idea of the actual outcome of any of his pandering to the haters – and McConnell who should and no doubt does understand, is notably worse in attempting to implement same.

        From the link:
“The bill would also jeopardize the ability of State and local governments to receive Federal funding that is critical to their efforts to ensure public safety and to tackle serious problems facing their communities.”

This is what passes for fiscal conservatism. They are FUCKING NUTS!

Ways and Means Democrats are sounding the alarm on yet another Republican debt ceiling game of chicken with its head cut off (that would be the Republicans, running around blindly and hysterically in circles, pretending they haven’t lost their heads). Yes, that’s right, tomorrow is the day they vote on their “China First” bill (H.R. 692), which is basically a plan to default on America but pay China.

    Wave that flag.

Guess who will get screwed by Republicans? The Ways and Means Democrats warn the following might be defaulted on:

    · Pay and benefits for 1.4 million active duty troops and 827,000 troops in reserves
    · Benefits to almost 4 million disabled veterans who served their country with honor and now need our help to live
    · Payment for health care for nearly 5.9 million veterans cared for at VA hospitals and health centers
    · Education assistance for nearly 1.1 million veterans
    · Home loan support for nearly 630,000 million veterans
    · Earned payments to American small businesses, who earned more than $91 billion dollars for goods and services rendered last year, and used those dollars to support more than 550,000 jobs
    · Payments to nearly 1 million doctors and other health care practitioners who provided health care to Medicare beneficiaries
    · Payments to schools for nutritious meals – 30.5 million children participated in the school lunch program
    · Payments to almost 50,000 National Institutes of Health grantees, who are conducting life-saving medical research and providing an estimated 300,000 jobs

Is there ANYONE ALIVE that really still thinks these lunatics are responsible and able minded?

I’ve been tracking some of the analysis in Canada on the CBC. Seems that Harper really played up the anti-Muslim bigotry and beat the drum about banning the use of the niqab (face veil). Analysis is that all backfired in a powerful way because most Canadians see their country as an accepting multi-cultural society. Would that US culture was more strongly inclined that way.

    • 108 99ts
      October 20, 2015 at 11:23 pm

Wish it was the case Bill – but the leader of the NDP came out in force saying allow people to wear what they will and lost their vote to the liberals. I haven’t found what Trudeau had to say about the issue.

“Then came the first real disruptive event of the campaign, the Quebec-centred debate on the Conservatives’ determination to prevent women from wearing face-covering niqabs at citizenship swearing-in ceremonies.

Mulcair came out strongly against the policy, a position that went over poorly in Quebec, the province whose orange-wave of New Democrat victories in 2011 raised the party to a historic high in Parliament.

As the NDP’s support dropped in Quebec, the Liberals picked up support in the polls, apparently because voters determined to oust Harper and the Tories saw Trudeau’s team as the best bet to win.”

An excellent start. With PBO and the USA on climate and trade.
      No thanks on war.
Trudeau ran on diversity and inclusion. Against the Conservatives racism.

Didn’t Australia make a similar choice very recently?

The insane racist part of our country must be defeated thoroughly in 2016 2018 2020 and forever thereafter.

Not exactly – sadly Vicki – we got rid of a RWNJ but still have a RW government that hasn’t changed many policies. The PM is intelligent & understands climate change but is in a similar position to Boehner in the US – quite some fools in his party. We had a party remove their leader (like Boehner going), Canada had an election.
