Congrats MadameSoph! Did you see my response on the previous thread about the pictures from the SoCal BD party? Go to 9/27 Chat Away and you should see them….

⭐ Looks like first to me! And with Mercury retrograde conjunct the sun in transit, nicely done, MadameSoph!

Really? Mercury conjunct the Sun while making the wide part of its orbit (trying to correct my thinking by changing my phrasing since Mercury doesn’t actually travel backwards) I have Libra on the ascendant… sounds like my instinct to lay low today is a good one 🙂

        • September 30, 2015 at 6:50 pm

Your ‘instinct’ is more intuitive than instinctive! We had a clear reminder to keep the calendar as open as possible today, just in case!!

Ah yes, I probably should have said, “intuition”. However, I find that laying low is often my innate response during a Mercury Retrograde period (having been raised to be observant of them has probably made caution during these cycles a fixed pattern of behavior for me 🙂

🙂 🙂 Yes, Huckleberry Vodka a gift from MTmarilyn and her hubby when they were in SoCal visiting family. We all got together for dinner and she came with gifts of books, booze, and a big heart..(trying to use all ‘b’s’)

A graceful use of alliteration always beautifies a phrase. A Libra, ruled by the planet Venus, would of course want beautify the written word! Libras love to make things lovely (LOL) How’s that?! 🙂

Thank you jojo for the kind words. It was such a privilege to meet all of you. So glad you enjoyed the vodka. This is a very special community.

“There is something called civil rights,” Pelley pointed out during 60 Minutes Overtime.

To this, Trump responded with a shrug, “There’s also something called, ‘We have a country.’”

So, I have been mostly lurking the past several days but checking in here and there.

Last night I finally watched my DVR of the Global Citizen Festival special on NBC. When the First Lady came on, she looked gorgeous, as usual (did you see the outfit she wore on Colbert?!). Then, when I noticed her hairdo …. I burst into laughter.

I was reminded of a tweet one of you posted on Saturday about the difference between FLOTUS’ hair at the GCF and the night of the Chinese State Dinner.

“Michelle’s hair today compared to her hair last night is evidence that Barack knocked the bottom out that thang last night”

🙂 FLOTUS looked so fine at that dinner, you know that’s what happened!

rikyrah, do have a link to the original of that wonderful article you posted from 2011 about PBO and the myth of the Dem majority his first two years? I just had a “discussion” 🙂 with a friend’s husband not long ago along those lines and would love to pass it on, but want to make sure the source is clear.

Everyday, a new story of despicable police behavior…

“Officers with the Special Operations Response Team found the disabled couple, who were staying with Lisa Hayes’ mother for two weeks while their daughter attended an ice skating camp, in a back bedroom of the home, according to a lawsuit.

Five family members had already told police that Lisa Hayes, a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy, was unable to use her legs, and the lawsuit claims officers should have seen her wheelchair in the bedroom where her husband bathed her.

But state troopers pointed their guns at the disabled woman and “shouted at her to do that which she could not: stand up,” the lawsuit claims.

Ruther Hayes tried to cover his partially nude wife with a sheet, but the lawsuit shows that police shoved him to the ground and repeatedly punched him before shocking the mentally ill man twice with a stun gun.”

See, it’s stories like this that make people distrustful of cops. Who are they serving and protecting with this kind of sickening behavior?

Preach it, Cummings!! Call out the hypocrites with the truth. My blood pressure would be through the work having to sit around and listen to Republican wankers every day. Good for Cummings for keeping his cool and pointing out the facts.

Did anyone else see/hear Kevin McCarthy???
      I can barely contain myself.

First of all—and I realize this may not be fair criticism—but his little bitty voice in his very tall frame.
Then—like too many in the GOP—-his grasp of the English language is shaky, to say the least.
      Rep. McCarthy called HRC “untrustable.”
This was as he was explaining that the entire mess of Benghazi was an effort to smear the former SOS.

Now, I’m reminded that the gossip about Kevin McCarthy was that he is not the brightest of politicians.
This from the party of Gohmert, Palin, Bachmann and Jim (the Snowball) Imhofe.

I am very glad for Hillary that this fool has exposed his hideous dumb party.

        September 30, 2015 at 6:04 pm

        Yup.
Our Tax $$$$ are funding a scheme to take out a Dem Presidential Candidate. Dems of all stripes should be on every Medium screaming, shouting and demanding that this Tax-Payer Funded sham STOP Now!

      • October 1, 2015 at 12:18 am

The sad thing is that the “untrustable” nonsense has spread to some on our side of the fence–many Sanders supporters are too busy spraying venom Hillary’s way and ignoring the GOP’s efforts to knock her down. 20+ years and still going…

        • 58 nospin
          October 1, 2015 at 1:16 pm

Marc, to be fair, Sanders didn’t’ have to do anything as it relates to the “untrustable” term when assessing Hillary’s ability to lead. Why bother when HRC’s own actions and words speak volumes on her lack of character on doing the right things and making the right decisions.

Yes, it’s great that McCarthy finally admitted something that we already knew. The Benghazi hearings are nothing but a politically-motivated sham targeted at a Presidential candidate. Nice that Republicans have no qualms about using dead Americans for their political schemes.

I’m just afraid they will use this as an excuse to put a full-blown nut job in the speakership, instead of just a half-baked nut job. God, what a mess.

        • 67 Vicki
          September 30, 2015 at 6:10 pm

Yes to Nena. We should and I predict will be screaming about this disgusting abuse.
And Yes, 57. I fear exactly what you do. Now they’ll pick someone more clever and vicious, and therefore more dangerous to the rest of us.

John Boehner had his obvious faults but it seems very unlikely to me that the country will be better as a result of his resignation.

        • 69 pkayden
          September 30, 2015 at 7:41 pm

But even the half-baked nut jobs give cover to the full-blown nut jobs so it doesn’t make any difference. Boehner was nothing but rude and nasty towards our President and coddled the extremist obstructionists in his party. I don’t see him as different than Gohmert or any other half-wit.

Just heard a one-liner that Donald Trump just said in NH that if he “wins,” Syrian refugees in our country are “going back.” I’m guessing he meant those we’ve invited here.

Our country of immigrants – keep that in mind. Who’s next? Maybe he’ll deport his immigrant wife, too, if she doesn’t work out.

I saw where Tom Brady endorse Donald Trump, then I said now I know why he didn’t show up at the White House when POTUS were honoring the Pats for winning the Super Bowl. I felt all along he didn’t show up cause he didn’t like POTUS.
