I am not a Tweeter. Would someone here let Chris Hayes know he should have challenged Bernie Sanders when he repeated the line from a couple of days ago that PBO’s biggest mistake was saying thank you I’ve got this instead of asking for our help after the inauguration like he intends to do. Proof of the opposite is right in the text of the 2009 speech. “Out of many we are one” and “Yes WE Can!”. Thanks for whomever can do this.

Why does Sanders have to bring up President Obama at all anyways? He’s not running against President Obama. I hope he knows that to win, he must get the approval and votes of those of us who love our President.

      • September 10, 2015 at 9:22 pm

I guess he’s trying to say he’s going to be a greater president than President Obama, which doesn’t even pass the smell test. Completel laughable who’s done SQUAT in Congress. In 26 years, he’s passed 3 bills, 2 of which are naming post offices. And by the way, those 2 are for the SAME post office.

        This tweet is from Monday:

Sanders is running a campaign fueled by white resentment among lefties whose world view has been shaken by the numerous successes of the Obama presidency. I don’t give a fuck what Sanders may or may not have done in the 1960’s, he is a straight up racist in 2015. I have long seen through his bullshit and he has only reinforced my view of him as a being a bitter butt hurt white supremacist, who cannot resist the bizarre urge to belittle the most successful progressive president since FDR. His animus and condescending attitude toward Black folks has been on display since his campaign start. It is part of what attracts his supporters to his campaign. They are all, Sanders and his supporters, similarly afflicted.

        • September 10, 2015 at 9:46 pm

I need to be able to vote for either BS or HRC if Joe decides not to run. It will be hard to do with Bernie saying untruths about PBO. It would be hard to vote for Hillary when hearing her sound so Neocon in her Iran Deal tough stance.

            September 10, 2015 at 9:57 pm

Sanders is not a serious candidate for president, imho. He is not criticizing HRC, only PBO (who is not running) so I am not sure what his end game is. No Dem can win without the Black vote and he chooses to antagonize that vital member of the Dem coalition. I think Biden will likely run especially if HRC falters. The noticeable increase in Biden’s media exposure make me think he is really testing the waters for a run.

Oh Meta, this is just so sad and beautiful and wonderful all at the same time. I have a season pass for Colbert on my Tivo and don’t have to get up early tomorrow, so I was planning to watch tonight. Now I have to make sure I am 100 percent paying attention, no ice cream until the interview is finished 🙂

I just read this and I am just overcome with emotion. This is so powerful. I have so much love and respect for VP Biden and also for Stephen, especially after this. People have wondered how it would be with the “real Stephen” instead of his character. Well, here is your answer.

Thanks for bringing this Meta. I’ll be thinking of my late Dad when I watch this tonight, just like I am now. Going to forward this link to F&F now…

      • September 10, 2015 at 9:24 pm

        Hugs to you, MadameSoph.

Stephen Colbert quite obviously loves our VP very much. They have a special bond of grief but there is also admiration and respect. VP Joe is such an honest man, so straight forward, it’s riveting. I have a feeling I’ll be watching with a box of kleenex.

Meta, thank you for linking this. The depth of grief and emotion Joe Biden is experiencing is heart breaking. I understand how it can catch him unawares and why he’s concerned about how this would affect him during a presidential bid. I hope he finds the peace inside him to go forward with that bid because his country really needs him, but I understand fully how his heart may need more time healing. Stephen Colbert is a treasure and a truly decent man.

This is made me mush….and made me cry. Especially this:

“That never changed, right up to the end, he said, even when, not long before his death from cancer, he asked his father to “promise me you’re going to be all right—because no matter what happens to me, I’m going to be all right.”

When my incredible mother and best mom in the entire world died in 1998, waiting for a heart transplant that never came, soon after, she came to me one night. I swear it wasn’t a dream but her spirit that needed me to know this. She sat at the foot of my bed and had a big smile on her face. I was crying. She took my face in her hands and said to me, clear as day, “I’m ok and you’re going to be ok, too.” and she was gone.

I miss her every single day. I talk to her and still ask her advice, hoping that she’ll hear me in the great beyond and I’ll pay attention to the signs she gives me. I do everything with her in mind, wanting her to be proud of me and the person that I’ve become. I know that Beau would want this for his dad, too. We can’t bring them back but they live on inside us. They are part of us and we of them. Biologically and spiritually linked. I hope that VP Biden finds peace and that one day soon he can feel Beau’s strength lifting him to stand tall and make a go of this one more time….because I know that he’d be right there beside him all the way. It’s hard, but each day gets a little better….I wish that he could feel the strength of his son and the millions that see his truth and his goodness…a fighter for all…He’s ok, Joe…and you’ll be ok, too. Promise.

I talk to my Dad in my heart almost every day too.

Because of my work in the healing arts, many people confide with me about their experiences with loved ones crossing the veil between the worlds, things they don’t feel comfortable sharing with even those close to them, and I have had profound experiences of my own. I have absolutely no doubt that was no dream but your Mom’s spirit coming to reassure you. I know you know this too; I guess I’m just sharing for the benefit of others who may not have had such experiences. Although, so many have confided in me, I really think it is much more common that most people realize.

The old devil is just talking about how much a better president he will be than PBO. The haterade is flowing at Sanders HQ. He is a bitter old fool whose groupies just love it when he bashes PBO. Sanders also wanted to primary PBO in 2012, so has always had a problem with PBO. I think it is the same problem the tea party has with PBO.

BS is repeating the Daily Kos lies that after winning in 2008 PBO told OFA volunteers to go home he’ll take it from here. I wonder when BS campaign will stop going negative against PBO.

P.S. WHERE IS BS COALITION? Oh yeah he doesn’t have one.

        September 10, 2015 at 10:59 pm

That’s a pretty big allegation from Sanders. The Daily KOS is so full of shit for making that lie and shame on Sanders for repeating it.

CNN apparently (ho hum) announced who’ll be at what table at next week’s (R) debate:

kids table: santorum, pataki, perry, jindall, graham

those who had to swear they’re potty-trained table (except for trump who won’t take the pledge until a few weeks out): trump, paul, fiorina (or purina, whatever), fuckabee, rubio, cruz, carson, bush, walker, kasich, christie

Apparently the HRC Campaign complaining that the NY Times has been picking on her is working.
The Times didn’t cover her event in Columbus Ohio yesterday billed as an address to women. Wash Post and others published photos and reports of a 1/2 empty room. The Times were silent on this.

    Classic Clinton victim role.

Although I am not an HRC fan, I think the media coverage of her has been disgraceful. She is not under criminal investigation yet it is never ending while Rick Perry is under criminal indictment and Christie should be. Yet we don’the hear about that ever much less every single day. If we are left with her as our nominee, it is going to be very scary to think about her standing with all this adverse coverage versus the Republican candidate. And I will take Hillary any day over any one of these R idiots.

    This is kinda amazing 😀 😀 😀

‘Toss your markers and trash your colored pencils because Paint With Donald Trump is the only way to make art now. The interactive website allows users to express themselves through a series of paint “brushes” that just happen to be cut-out photos of Donald Trump’s face. It’s as simple as selecting the Trump face you feel most connected to, picking a size and dragging it all over the place until you have some semblance of beige-tone art. While there are so many ways to make the most of Paint With Donald Trump — the website already as a mildly NSFW Tumblr devoted to it..continued’
