Good morning and congratulations on Early BIrd and on Sunday too, vetivera24! Good morning and welcome home, Chips the Much Missed TOD Creator! What a glorious, not-too-hot/humid morning. Enjoyed your vacation pix with Dauntless Danny and the fine views shared here by Nerdy Wonka of First Family Fun. It is a great gift, joy, and comfort to come to TOD for all that is here for us. Happy Sunday.

Morning. It’s wonderful to have you back, Chips. I really missed you. Yesterday was our Latina Fiesta and it was an absolutely amazing event! We expected between 4 and 500 people and got close to 1000. People ate through a whole roast pig, 250 hot dogs, 12 cafeteria size bins of Latino food, plus dessert, 550 bags of popcorn and over 250 snowcones and we still ran out of food before everyone was fed. PA Supreme Court candidate, Christine Donahue, showed up as did Commonwealth Court candidate, Michael Wojcik, and Senate candidate, Joe Sestak, along with the PA state Latino caucus. It was the most exhausting day I can remember and I could barely move by the time we made it home. If some kind person could tell me how to post a jpeg photos, I would love to throw up a couple of pictures. This event has truly taken on a life of its own and I was pleased to hear many people say that they now looked forward to the fiesta every year. It’s wonderful feedback, but such a LOT of work.

WOW! Congrats for all that you lovingly do to make this a reality every year:) Sounds like fun was had by all…now they all need to vote and make sure their friends and family vote, too!

Df, we’re engaged in a long term campaign to create a positive impression of Democrats with Latinos. Democratic material, logos and candidates are everywhere and we want our Latino community to see the Democrats as the good guys and then remember that on election day. The Republicans tried to emulate us one year and failed miserably because they had the gall the charge for everything. PBO was a BIG draw for Latinos and when he’s not on the ballot, we have to work doubly hard to be the ones Latinos turn to.

Absolutely! Well, we can tell this is a true labor of love for you…and it will pay off because your heart is true. You can tell when people are genuine…which is why Republicans have trouble with so many things…they are only truthful when they are taking something of value and importance from actual people…and giving it to business… Bravo to all of you that give your heart and time for this every year. You done good:)

Mooooooooorning Jackie, lovely to be back, and even lovelier to read about your WONDERFUL event, you’re awesome!! If you want to email me photos I can post them for you – theobamadiary@gmail.com

Morning Jackie. OMG what a wonderful event you put on! And such a great way to bring the community together. We are looking for ways to do the same where I live, to bring the Latino farm workers, who are such an important part of keeping our community humming along, into being more of a regular part of our community. Even though this was a lot of work, it sounds like it is a great way to help us all get to know each other, and to learn more about local politics at the same time. Can’t wait to see some photos!

Good morning, Chips and TODers everywhere!

I don’t see any way Reid goes against the deal but it’s good to hear the rumors. He’ll probably hold back announcing until some of the stragglers have come forward because that’s his style but I know we got this!

Great news! I had a conversation with Senate candidate, Joe Sestak, about the Iran deal yesterday and he’s really lambasting Pat Toomey for his kneejerk “no” vote. He’s very disappointed in Schumer and sad that Bob Casey is still fence sitting. Thinks Dems need to support their president. He also told the crowd that ACA was one of the greatest achievements of any president since FDR.

😆 And of course, as soon as I return United screw up and Chelsea remember how to score goals. I should leave again 🙄

                • August 23, 2015 at 9:51 am

Well, if they screw up again in the Champions League on Wednesday, then I definitely need to take breaks from then on whenever they’re playing – I fear I am jinxing my babies.

You already know they’re going to screw up, so just line up the drinks you’re going to drown your hilarious sorrows in.

                    • August 23, 2015 at 10:01 am

But I’m hopeful they’ll go shopping this week and buy Gareth Bale and Thomas Muller (and maybe Neymar and Ibrahimovic) and then everything will be okay 😎

Yeeeeeeah, that’s what you said last time and the players they bought suddenly got lead foot upon being signed by Man United. Then began playing magnificently after moving on to another team. Almost like the squirrel on Rooney’s head placed a curse on them that was lifted when they moved onwards to better teams. 🙂

                    • August 23, 2015 at 10:07 am

You’re evuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul!!!! 😆 This time will be different, they were just fine-tuning last season, the engine will purr majestically this time around. Ish.

              • August 23, 2015 at 9:49 am

Ooooooooh, wait: it’s only 3-2 for Chelsea now, and they’ve had a player sent off……

                  August 23, 2015 at 10:00 am

I’m laughing at you and GGail. It’s early days. You know how Man United was hunky dorying along last season and then tumbled in various leagues while Chelsea went up, up up? That’s what’s going to happen again.

Exhibit A: 0 for Man United today.

You can still be banned and it can be done in a way Chips can never find you. She has troubles whenever updates are made on social media platforms and I have to come to her aid, so it would be a loooooooooooooooooooooong time (if ever) before you were found.

              So, watch it. 🙂

Conservatives hate Jimmy Carter because he’s the Christian they’ll never be. I so agree with that. One thing that always bug me about conservatives is they are always talking about like what a wonderful christian they are, but to me a real christian don’t have to run around constantly talking about I’m a christian, you let your deeds do the talking, you let how you treat people do the talking, you let how you help the poor, the needy, the hungry, do the talking, you let how you treat your enemies do the talking. By the way, is Donald Trump a christian? I have a feeling that the only thing that matter to Trump supporters is Trump is a white man.

The other part of this Tweet:

      • August 23, 2015 at 10:45 am

If Barack Obama were saying that he was going to deport 11 million people, I would hope I wouldn’t be so dam stupid that I wouldn’t want to know how he would do that. Would he round them up and stick them in a holding building and bus or fly them back to where ever it is they come from.

    • August 23, 2015 at 10:49 am

He’s so over the top, sometimes I’m tempted to think he’s running just to help the Clintons … Good grief…

      • August 23, 2015 at 1:13 pm

My Ron Paul loving brother definitely thinks Trump is a Hillary supporter trying to secretly help her. He believes many conspiracy theories including ALL of the past Clinton conspiracy theories. He would vote for anyone that ran against Clinton including the Donald. Living next door to him makes my life unbearable at times. All of you are my refuge.

    Attn: Meta.
In a tweet of yours which is being run on others pages you say—correctly— that 24 (D) senators are supporting the Deal and that 34 are needed to sustain veto.
Two (I) senators also voting yes, which I am certain you know, but those hoping against the deal might be cheered by the lower number which does not include the 2 Independents who are with us. 26 locked-in Yes votes and as you say Harry Reid looking good.
Am I an idiot for paying this any attention?

    • August 23, 2015 at 10:42 am

No, I get it! My working number is now 26. There’s a tweet that got RT’d this morning that’s from Aug 19th where I say we have 24 votes but 2 more have spoken up since then.

I’m feeling very good how this is going. I have no doubt PBO will prevail again.

I come here to get your updates, Vicki. I wish I could contribute, but I’m working 7 days/week these days, for a sociopath.

Counting the days until I’m full retirement age, and I’ll at least cut back on these insane hours.

So, thanks for keeping us up to date on this. This is vitally important.

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/08/22/bill-maher-slams-anti-immigrant-donald-trump-for-having-immigrant-wives.html

“The Republicans are tearing their hair out,” Maher said. “Now, doctors say the Trump that has been growing inside them is inoperable. Yes, Donald Trump, America’s great Irish hope, unveiled his immigration plan this week—and it is huge. It’s a three-point plan called Cinco de Bye-o. Here are the plans: repeal the 14th amendment, seize the wages of illegal immigrants who are working here, use that money to build a wall, and then deport all 11 million of them. Is any of this possible? No. But it gave millions of Fox News viewers their first erection in years.”
