Congrats Donna and good afternoon/evening to all TODers.I missed you. I had surgery on Monday and came home yesterday. Surgeries are almost becoming “drive-by”.
NW. I’m just so glad to be back reading The Obama Diary. It’ll take 4 weeks for full recovery and then I can go back to gym for my spinning classes. I have to immediately start walking 30 minutes everyday, but I’ll have plenty of time to hang out here and continue to learn, laugh, cry and even get angry at some of the foolishness that surrounds us. Love all you good people.
Mr. Bobr, thank you so much for keeping us well informed about events and happenings we would never read or hear about.
I am forever grateful for you consistent informative tweets.
I have been lurking for a couple of days.
Has there been any response from Alan McNamara concerning the B&N event this weekend?
Thank you.
I called him on both numbers left a calm message and sent an e-mail when the advertisement popped up in my Inbox.
I informed him that I will cancel my subscription and send notices to friend and family to do the same unless he address this situation immediately. Time is almost up!
I am calling both numbers today.
Giving him the benefit of doubt that he just may be on vacation.
Yay for Donna and Bobfr on opening the door to Nerdy’s new thread!
In honor of my father’s passing 25 years ago today, I sent this tweet to Patty Murray who served with him in the Washington State legislature. They were good friends. He would have loved the age of Obama!
I remember during the 2008 primary campaigning Obama choreographed the roll out of endorsements with other campaign news to be advantageous to his campaign. IMO something similar seems to be happening now with the support of the Iran Deal. Maybe the roll out is planned to counter the opposition or maybe I am just tilting at windmills.
Excellent, my father, who was a combat marine in the Pacific, decorated with silver star for bravery on Pelilu, would also have been solidly in favor of diplomacy over war. He died in my arms eleven years ago in April. I grew up without him as my parents were divorced and he and I were estranged due to his alcoholism and PTSD.In later years we became best friends with his healing from PTSD and alcoholism he became an alcohol counselor working in the VA helping other vets to heal also from alcoholism and PTSD. He had been a life long Republican, got out of his sick bed two weeks before his death to change his party registration because of GWB and GOP Iraq war.
Regardless of how you feel about Hillary, that e-mail issue is totally bogus. Colin Powell, GWB’s Sec. State, had private e-mail, deleted them all when he left. No body said anything about that.
Thanks, Judith. Indeed it is, to have borne witness to my father’s healing redemption. Much of our reconciliation and healing happened over the course of about 17 years, when we had decided to go on an annual retreat together at a Trappist monastery. Besides the quiet meditation time, we spent a lot of time just talking with each other, revealing our inner story. Among the things that stayed with me was this, after being wounded in the Okinawa campaign he was treated in a hospital on Guam and then transported on a hospital ship. They were in sight of the Golden Gate and he remembered promising silently that, having witnessed and participated in the worst violence that humans can inflict on each other, he wanted to become a kind person and dedicate his life to that endeavor. And so he did, become a very kind, gentle, and compassionate person.
No chance, I'[m afraid. You’d think she was a GOP mole the way she has not helped her POTUS or her party. She met with Bibi when he spoke to Congress, which was a major slap in the face to PBO.
Still, I tweet her almost every day and remind her that I am an American Jew, and this deal is in everyone'[s best interest, unless you’re more loyal to your short term political gain.
I’m not a fan of Shaun King … to say the least … but, I’m also not a fan of lies especially when they involve #WhiteSupremacy violence and hatred … so I’m posting this so each of you can read the FB account of an attack that happened to Shaun, while he was in backwater KY high school, 1995 ….
5. It's also important that you see this —>

Because other people who REALLY saw it commented on it there.
NW, here is another article to add to our ObamaCare success stories… 🙂
WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 (UPI) — A review of data on community health centers shows large increases in the number of people who have gained access to healthcare as a result of the Affordable Care Act, especially in underserved urban and rural areas of the United States.
Researchers pin much of the credit to the expansion of Medicaid under the ACA, also referred to as ObamaCare, which has allowed people who cannot afford health insurance to have greater access to care. They note, though, that there has also been a large increase in the number people who have purchased private insurance through the ACA-mandated state exchanges.
The ACA, passed by Congress in 2010, set basic requirements for insurance policies, created ways for consumers to compare and judge policies, and expanded methods to help people get insurance through subsidies and an expansion of the Medicaid program.
NY Times editorial talking about expansion of these community health centers. I hope Nerdy saw that piece also. Just in case another Obamacare Post is being considered.
When I called his office several weeks ago his staff wasn’t very forthright….He has been getting hammered by AIPAC and Jon Bolton SuperPac ads (veteran who was hit by an IED in Iraq and maimed) everywhere, especially during sporting events…I just didn’t see this coming considering he up for re-election in the next mid-terms.
Big time…he was in the lean no/undecided column of 9…we might even be able to block a cloture vote if this trend stays….it also lets Hietkamp (though I think she is going to run for Gov for SD) Casey & Booker off the hook (I’m assuming they are voting on ’16 re-elect & not common sense) and still keep 41 to block.
Thank so much for all the great info everyone posts here. I see SOOOooo much mis-information out there its crazy.
Just saw on FB how the “EPA Dumped” that toxic mess into the river. of course thanks to TOD I had already been informed as to the issue the polluters took to making it a superfund clean up site that would have helped clear this mess. privitize the profit and socialize the costs, then blame the EPA for any issues. Of course they’d rather just get rid of the EPA all along which I think is the point of some of these posts I’ve been seeing.
That’s why people are getting out of the teaching profession. I heard today there is a huge shortage of teachers across the country and there are fewer and fewer people entering it as a profession in college. So if there are NO teachers to teach in 2ndary, middle, high schools, and colleges there will be other countries that even Americans will have to send their kids to for higher education.
This is the supposed “moderate” in the republican primaries. He’s a wolf in disguise. Republicans are a destructive force in America’s psyche. Whining all the time, peddling fear, cultivating all sorts of prejudices, making people hate and resent each other. They are extremely DIVISIVE.
CNN, it talked about Menendez saying he would vote against the Iran Deal, but said nothing about Whitehouse and Reid saying they were supporting the Iran Deal. Maybe I just happen to miss them talking about them, but I didn’t miss them showing Menendez.
Thank you, GGail. The haze is starting to really get pretty noticeable. My friends who live up north say they wake up in the morning with scratchy throats.
GA TOD
Good morning Donna 🙂
Congrats Donna and good afternoon/evening to all TODers.I missed you. I had surgery on Monday and came home yesterday. Surgeries are almost becoming “drive-by”.
I pray you have a speedy recovery Sabreen60
Thank you Donna. I’m ok. Of course, the first few days are rough, but hubby is being very helpful 🙂
Are you feeling okay, Sabreen? Hope that’s the end of it.
Hi Judith. Yes I hope so, too. I think all is well. Thanks so much for you concern.
Wishing you a healthy recovery, Sabreen60.

Crucial that Pres Masum is cooperating ….

Has there been any response from Alan McNamara concerning the B&N event this weekend?
Thank you, LDS.
I have not received any response and intend to call him on Friday morning. Thought I’d give him a week.
Thank you.
I called him on both numbers left a calm message and sent an e-mail when the advertisement popped up in my Inbox.

Excellent.
Here’s a tweet I just sent Marc – the person who alerted the Twitterverse of the incident ….
Good morning TOD!
What a beautiful face!
Congrazt Donna!
Mr. Bobfr, not bad for #2 spot either.
See you guys later.
Beautiful Sunny 🙂
Congrats Donna on First 🙂

Could be…
Judith, this is a beautiful tribute to your father. Thank you so much for sharing this anniversary with us and I hope Patty Murray sees this.
Thanks so much. Doing a couple more:
❤

Dear Bill R – what a potent personal story of redemption and reconciliation. Thanks for sharing your father’s journey with us.

James Carville just made mincemeat out of Luke Russert and the entire media over the Clinton server issue.
Another YES:
Excellent news! Let’s hope Debbie Wasserman-Schultz follows suit.
No chance, I'[m afraid. You’d think she was a GOP mole the way she has not helped her POTUS or her party. She met with Bibi when he spoke to Congress, which was a major slap in the face to PBO.

Retweeting…Excellent tweet Judith!

Excellent and retweeted!
🙂
PBO to Alaska and Louisianna next week, if I read it right. Hitting the air at high speed after a so far uninterrupted vacation.
Need your help, NW 🙂
While waiting ….

BOOM! I never thought my Senator would favor the deal…this is a big get!
My idiotic Senator is the ranking member on that committee. I’m gonna go hammer him some more on Twitter
Whoopee! This is huge.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very big deal. Red State undecided saying Yes.

Hey kid kanga, I hope you took the explanation that you saw here on TOD and posted it on FB so others will know the truth too.
Sure did GG! If you gonna bring trash onto my FB its gonna get cleaned up. Thanks for keeping the light on here at TOD, its invaluable.
..smh.
GTG…have a wonderful day TOD fam!
I’m trying so hard not to laugh, but I’m failing miserably…
I inserted “in the head” that’s how I read sometimes, I tend to scan. I laughed too, laughed hard.
To rejoice or Not to rejoice? That is the question.
One should not rejoice at others’ misfortunes… that is, misfortune. Not wacko-like behavior!
I wish America was an “Idiot Free Zone”…….
But then who would we have to laugh at jojo?
This is Karma in real time. I LOVE IT!!! 😀 😀 😀
I hope he shot off his baby-making equipment so the dumbass can’t reproduce!
Hmm, that’s a thought. The problem would stop with him. I think I like that.
oh the irony
Another from PBO Spotify playlist that I’m enjoying while on Lunch 🙂
one of my favs
Mine too!
When I am feeling down I dance to this all by myself until I feel better.
It really works, ya’ll!

CNN has a special on tonight about some interview with Donald Trump. 9pm. Is the interview old or new?
i wonder if they are going to ask about his first wife’s sworn testimony in their divorce proceedings that he raped and beat her.
It is new. Chris Cuomo is doing it sometime today and will be aired tonight.
I blame the stupid ass media for Donald Trump
meta, I hope your air quality is not too compromised by the fires up there. Stay safe.
