    MUST LISTEN!! One of the signatories of the open letter (29 scientists) just explained Iran was 2-3 WEEKS (not months) from breakout prior to the JPOA interim deal in Geneva….and calls out AIPAC’s B.S.

      I am grateful for the 29 people that signed on to the support for Iran deal letter but a letter means little. There needs to be ads highlighting it and all the people that are for the deal.
      People respond more to visuals, to ads. The anti-deal people have one out on air now and I am certain it is having an impact.

    Did I make it? Just read where Jeff Flake is concerned the Iran Deal won’t address Iran’s human rights abuse or promoting of global terrorism, hmmm, maybe we need to clean up our human rights abuse, and yes I call police abuse terrorism.

    I wonder if Schumer will switch parties? He fits in with the GOP perfectly. The fear of any GOP or the Donald winning the WH is enough to scare me into voting for HRC or BS, even though I am not enthralled by either. If the email scam sticks to Hillary I wonder if that might make Joe decide to run?

    In my imagination/dream, I see a sea of white people marching down Main Street in every City chanting “Enough Is Enough”

    Until that happens or something close to that happens, nothing will change.

    Some on this board have mentioned that off duty police or retired police make up some of the membership of the militia like groups such as the Oath Keepers. It reminds me of the make up of the KKK in the past. They seem a combo of the KKK and a vigilante group to me from out of the Wild West past.

    Here is a prime example where the thought process in white America is “well they must have done something to deserve it”

    Read what a woman said the LA Police Commission meeting where demonstraters had gather to protest Ezel Ford’s death at the hands of a LA Cop…
    An L.A. Police Commission meeting was briefly halted Tuesday after protesters began chanting and calling for criminal charges against the two officers who fatally shot Ezell Ford a year ago today.

    The first mention of Ford’s name at Tuesday’s meeting prompted applause from some people in the audience, which included Black Lives Matter activists and Ford’s mother.

    But the group erupted after a woman spoke in support of police and mentioned “black-on-black killings.”

      They start off with the premise the Black person deserved to be murdered and work backwards. I have response to those who use Black on Black crime to justify police murders of unarmed Black citizen: “Do white on white murders and mass killings give Black folks the right/justification to randomly kill white people?” If group punishment is acceptable for Black people it should be acceptable for white folks too.

    Chicago—The Draft Biden SuperPAC, an effort to compel Vice President Biden to throw his hat into the ring for the 2016 Presidential campaign, announced its senior leadership team today. Building off of the past few months of momentum, and continued signs that the Vice President is considering a bid, Draft Biden has brought on veteran campaign staffers to help create a strong infrastructure both nationally and in key early primary and caucus states.

    “Vice President Biden has proven over the course of his long and successful career that he can both speak his mind, honestly, with the American people and deliver the sort of change that the American people are looking for,” said Will Pierce, Executive Director of Draft Biden. “The team we’re assembling here at Draft Biden represent countless years of experience in crafting winning campaigns that will show the Vice President that we’re ready when he is.”

    Last Week, Josh Alcorn, Political Director for the Vice President’s son and Delaware’s former Attorney General Beau Biden joined the campaign as a Senior Advisor.

    Today, the Draft Biden team announced two new hires to help advise the team. Brad Bauman, a longtime progressive operative, communications consultant and former Executive Director of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Josh Cohen, a veteran communications operative with experience at the Democratic National Committee and the U.S. Senate. Both have deep ties in early states with the Democratic Party, and key elected officials and labor.

    “Josh Cohen and Brad Bauman bring over a decade of experience each winning key races across the country and winning hard-fought legislative battles,” said Josh Alcorn, Senior Advisor to Draft Biden. “Josh and Brad will help us make in-roads with key constituencies and with important allies as we continue to explore the possibility of the Vice President jumping into the race.”

    In addition to Bauman and Cohen, Draft Biden has retained Liberty Concepts, a social and digital media firm that works for non-profits and political candidates. Liberty Concepts has worked for J Street and the American Civil Liberties Union in the past, as well as New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo. The firm was founded by Jonathan Karush in 1999.

    Bulldog Finance Group has been retained by Draft Biden to serve as finance consultants for the race. Bulldog was founded by Scott Dworkin and has deep ties to several major funders throughout the country including President Obama bundlers. Sam Jones, President of the firm will be leading up the account.

    Draft Biden has also hired BGP Strategies for Public Relations support. BGP is helmed by Christine Hunsinger, formerly Communications Director to Rhode Island’s Governor Lincoln Chafee, who has also announced a potential Presidential bid in 2016.

    Draft Biden is also working with VEDA Data Solutions, a company providing donor intelligence and predictive analytics.”

      No one, even folks in the Draft Biden movement with the best of intentions, should speak of “compelling Vice President Biden to throw his hat into the ring.” That is a decision solely for him and his family. We will support Veep Joe whatever he thinks is best.

    I feel you NW. The length and breadth of the white racial freak out this country is suffering through is indeed depressing. The white racial anxiety that is fueling this bizarre and homicidal behavior is very real and I cannot think of a peaceful solution. This white racial anxiety is, in my opinion, a true mental illness. The problem is that those suffering from this malady, instead of seeking psychiatric help, choose to double down on their irrational fear/hatred of Black people. This has real world (often lethal) consequences that are having an increasing detrimental effect on Black quality of life. Being terrorized by the police is not the way any American should be expected to live his/her life. Being judged based solely on the color of one’s skin is a humiliating and demeaning experience. I take solace in the fact that we are a strong and resilient people (we would not have survived the Middle Passage and centuries of slavery and oppression without a certain resilience), and will eventually win the war for equal citizenship/rights/treatment. I just pray the oppressor will learn to “hear/understand” the language of peace before it is too late.

    For the uninitiated…..here is the backstory on ‘The Based God’ …he is famous for putting *curses* on people for emulating ‘flicka da wrist’ James Harden of the Houston Rockets, was cursed after not admitting his 3-point celebration originated from lil b’s song….Houston went on to lose the series to G.S.

    lil b was rewarded with front row seats to the following G.S. Warriors game…

    During the same playoffs J.R. Smith posted this instagram of Cleveland celebrating after a win against Atlanta.. lil b threatened to curse Lebron & the Cavs if they didn’t acknowledge the origin of the “cooking” celebration

    NW, my heart breaks with this post. I only have an inkling as a white person and wouldn’t presume to truly understand. The hatred for anything “other” in this country just gets worse as our educational systems decline. And it is everywhere. When you read the comments on the Iran articles, it is the fear of Muslims. But this divisiveness has been the R platform for decades and this is what we are left with. At least half of this country supports the racist bigoted R candidates that blatantly stand there and spew their bile. The ones currently leading in the polls are the crazies, and when you combine their numbers it is the vast majority of the Republican party. At this point, I truly hope Trump destroys that party so it totally has to rebuild. I don’t know how else we are going to rid the country of the current thinking.

      There was an interesting segment on this on one of the shows tonight. Apparently Samore sent a letter to PBO after the interim agreement and laid out 4-5 points that the final deal must have in order to satisfy him and his organization. The final agreement met those points and more. But of course, it still wasn’t enough for the organization given Bibi’s position so the organization continues to oppose notwithstanding their earlier letter. Nice to see Samore has character.

        I echo Dudette’s words, and criquet’s words, and all the gratitude, praise, affection and love flowing here on TOD for NerdyWonka. I cannot imagine how painful and difficult it must be for you to cover the infinity of news and pictures and information about the war on blackness and black people, the ongoing assault on people of color, official and “unofficial” in our country. It’s sick and bad and wrong and unbearable and unacceptable, and yet on it goes. We need to know about it and see it, but the toll on you, covering it better than any journalist working out there in the press, must be very high. I am thankful for your tenacity, dedication, and brilliance in going back into the battle every single day. You are goodness doing good in the world, at a high and hard cost. I hope good things come to you on every level. You are a great blessing.
