    Manning: Sarah Lee Circle Bear Died While in Police Custody; Family Seeks Justice

    The death of Sandra Bland, an African American woman who died in a jail cell on July 13 , has the nation abuzz about the ongoing saga of police brutality against people of color, and this time, it is becoming even more apparent just how poorly women of color are treated.

    But a lesser known story regarding a beautiful young Lakota woman is just as worthy of our attention. On July 6, 24-year-old Sarah Lee Circle Bear of Clairmont, South Dakota, was found unconscious in a holding cell in Brown County Jail in Aberdeen. Circle Bear was jailed on a bond violation.

    Witnesses stated that before being transferred to a holding cell, Circle Bear pleaded to jailers that she was in excruciating pain. Jail staff responded by dismissing her cries for help, telling her to “knock it off,” and “quit faking.” Inmates cried out for the jail staff to help Circle Bear, to which they eventually responded by picking her up off of the floor, dragging her out of the cell, and transferring her to a holding cell. Circle Bear was later found unresponsive in the holding cell.

    I recently learned about Sarah Lee Circle Bear while attending a family ceremonial gathering. A relative set out a memorial chair for Sarah, a tradition of the Dakota and Lakota people. Sarah’s story was shared, and the circle prayed for her and her family for four days. In that time, we all connected with Sarah as a relative. She is one of us. She had life. She was young, beautiful, and she had a future. Sarah was also a mother. Two precious sons, age one and two, are now without their mom.

      I think HRC is reacting to the news PBO is considered the greatest among the last 6 or 7 Dem presidents, which includes her husband Bill Clinton. Just as an aside HRC was raised in a conservative REpublican household and while at Wellesley was President of the Young Republicans. While a young Republican, HRC campainged for the 1st AA US Senator, a liberal Republican Edward Brookes.

      If I weren’t already done with HRC, it’s a comment like that, which would be a deal breaker. She’s another one who can’t handle the truth, and is trying to make our President the “Invisible President.” Just like the rest of the green-eyed fools.

      Nobody has had more far-reaching, ambitious goals than President Obama. Nobody’s been as successful at it as he has, either.

      Arggghhhh.

        Of course, I agree with you jacqueline, idon and SUE. But the needling has been answered by PBO. For example:

        In Africa during a Presser, PBO was asked if he would continue previous President’s works in Africa.
        PBO then lavished detailed praise on President Bush and did not mention Bill Clinton initially. Then a bit later. He said that GB and BC had done good things in Africa. It was obvious to me what he was trying to do.

        It is a pattern of lauding both Bush Presidents and kind of ignoring BC.

        Not to mention during PBO’s Charleston eulogy when he said that we needed no more “talks” about race. This was a few days after what HRC’s campaign billed as her Big Speech on Race. If ever there was a back of the hand slap, that was it. Please don’t tell me PBO doesn’t know exactly what he is saying.

    I’ve been getting in yet another major tiff with politifact who said PBO’s claim about the economy improving since he got sworn in is mostly false. Man that pisses me off when it’s politifact is fudging their data.

    The GOP isn’t interested in governing. They have proven that, over and over. And, neither are their voters. Trump is feeding them filet mignon. They don’t want the Frank Luntz-approved language. They want the Trump ‘ straight talk’. And, he’s giving it to them.

    Jeb went on a Spanish Network and gave an entire interview in Spanish.

    Me…I don’t like him or his policies, but I give him credit for being bi-lingual, which I wish I was.

    It seems Jonathan Pollard has been granted parole. In accordance with serving his entire 30 year sentence.

      Additional info: Mr. Pollard will be released on parole and has to spend the next 5 years on parole in the US.
      Israel has petitioned for his immediate release to a hero’s welcome in Israel.
