    BRAVA NW for featuring the video!!!!

  2. July 28, 2015 at 10:16 pm

    Noticed that Rusty is trending on Twitter ….

    but the dude causing the palpitations doesn’t have the guts to pull a ‘privileged motion’ on the House floor … at least not yet …

      I seriously doubt enough Reps would vote to ditch Rusty, but if the did we could well see Speaker Pelosi V 2.0 because all the Ds and probably the remaining non-crazy Rs would likely prefer her to any alternative 🙂

      bbl … sup prep …

    It’s quite interesting that Jack Black recorded this video because his new series on HBO called The Brink parallels Middle East events happening and how a lack of diplomacy can lead to WWIII

    Bravo, Jack and others featured.

      Fascinating, NW. Did not know that.

      The group sponsoring the video Global Zero has some interesting folk on their team …

      “Among the members of Global Zero are former Israeli officials, such as Ephraim Halevy, a former head of the Mossad, and Shlomo Ben Ami, a former minister, according to the group’s website.”

      There is something cooking in/by this Admin every day! I suspect PBO will need a good vacation upon leaving office and before he starts any new major activity.

      • July 28, 2015 at 11:07 pm

        He will be in Hawaii for TPP finalization shortly & will be in Martha’s Vineyard for a two week vacation in mid-August….as far as after office I would have to believe everyday would be a vacation compared to the shit he has to put up with on a daily basis!

    Direct Video Calling Increases Access for Deaf Citizens

    R. David Edelman July 28, 2015 06:05 PM EDT
    [R. David Edelman is Special Assistant to the President for Economic & Technology Policy.]

    Technology has given us incredible new tools to communicate with friends, family, and colleagues, and all Americans should enjoy these benefits — including, and especially, those with disabilities.

    For those with hearing or speech impairments, digital video and other tools have helped these communities stay connected and working, rather than isolated. So, as the White House celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, we’re announcing some new steps to help the government stay accessible to all Americans using the latest technology.

    We are pleased to announce that two agencies that routinely interface with the disabilities community — the U.S. Census Bureau and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) — will soon be taking up direct video calling technology to allow Deaf citizens to communicate directly with American Sign Language (ASL)-fluent call operators there. This work responds to the President’s 2011 executive order calling upon agencies to use technology to improve customer service, and is another step in the right direction.

    Why? In general, citizens who are deaf reach federal agencies via third-party interpreters who facilitate their conversations by interpreting to those on the other end of the line. But broadband and faster connections have made direct video calling not just possible, but commonplace. With this technology, the result can be a call that is direct, clear, and can allow Americans who are deaf to communicate in American Sign Language.

    “Everyone should be free to study their passions and pursue goals, chronic illness or not.”

    Susan F. from Grover Beach, California, wrote the President last November to tell him how she’s benefited from the Affordable Care Act.

    When she was 17, Susan was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, and her family didn’t have health insurance. Although she had a 4.0 GPA and was preparing for college, she used her college savings to instead pay for her medical care.

    “What good would education do me,” she wrote, “if I lost sight, kidneys, or a leg to diabetes?”

        How has your Wednesday been? Now that PBO is back this way you can head on over to continue your African investigation.

    there are names from the political past that I don’t want to hear about;

    unfortunately, given the decision by some Dems to put most of their election eggs in one candidate, some of these names are appearing early;

    this is going to be a very long campaign season – heavens help us all

    Obama Help:

    The U.S.’s Seventh Fleet has patrolled Asia’s waters since World War II and is backing India’s naval expansion. On a January visit to New Delhi, President Barack Obama pledged to explore ways of sharing aircraft carrier technology. The two countries also flagged the need to safeguard maritime security in the South China Sea, where neither has territorial claims. India’s present fleet of 137 ships falls far short of the more than 300 vessels in China, which has Asia’s biggest navy. China boasts at least 62 submarines, including four capable of firing nuclear ballistic missiles, according to the Pentagon. “We would like to have the Moon,” Navy Vice Chief P. Murugesan told reporters on July 14, acknowledging that its goal of a 200-ship navy by 2027 was ambitious. The vessels on India’s wish list show Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intent on expanding the navy’s influence from Africa to the Western Pacific. Most of them will be made in India, a sign that moves to upgrade the country’s shipyards are starting to pay off for the world’s biggest importer of weapons.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/29/us/politics/depositions-show-donald-trump-as-quick-to-exaggerate-and-insult.html?smid=tw-share

    Donald J. Trump seemed irritated. He had been grilled for two hours in a lawsuit over a failed Florida real estate project, and he told the lawyer that her questions were “very stupid.”

    When the lawyer, Elizabeth Beck, asked for a medical break, Mr. Trump and his lawyers objected, demanding that the deposition continue. Ms. Beck said it was urgent — she needed to pump breast milk for her 3-month-old daughter, and she took the pump out to make her point.

    Mr. Trump erupted.

    “You’re disgusting,” he told Ms. Beck, in a remark that is not disputed by either side. He then walked out of the room, ending the testimony for the day.

    Thanks to the 4 trillion dollars we spent destroying Iraq while setting up a phony libertarian political system, spent thousands of lives on our side and hundreds of thousands of lives on the Iraqi side, permanently displaced millions of people in the region–and the perpetrators are STILL not in prison–Iran is now a major regional power. We tried to warn you people but all you did was accuse us of being unpatriotic. TFB. You can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.

    The Iranians cannot cheat without getting caught. It’s a nuclear inspection historical fact. So your “unrestricted inspections” is a Netanyahu-style propaganda half truth. Inspectors will have unprecedented access and they WILL find out if anything dishonest is going on. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

    The Iranian hardliners are pissed off at their negotiators for them getting a raw deal. They DID get a raw deal. The Iranians made practically all the concessions, falling well short of their goal.

    Good luck waiting for the Republicans to come up with a better plan. Good luck waiting for the Republicans to come up with any plan. About anything. How long has it taken for them to come up with a plan to replace Obamacare? How’s THAT one going?
