Chips, it turned out to be TWO teeth, not one, which meant double the price. I was feeling wobbly from the ordeal and then they told me the price and I almost keeled over. You have to be a multi-millionaire to have good teeth.

          • July 16, 2015 at 8:01 am

Noooooooooooo! You poor thing. When I rule the world there will be no teeth, we’ll just eat softie things.

              July 16, 2015 at 8:09 am

Well, unfortunately, that’s all I can eat anyway since my problems began last March. Crunchy food of any sort is off the menu, so I could probably get by without teeth right now and, at the going rate of fixing them, that might just happen. If you’re doing all this ruling of the world, though, you might consider free, pain-free dentistry for all.

              • July 16, 2015 at 8:23 am

“If you’re doing all this ruling of the world, though, you might consider free, pain-free dentistry for all.”

Yes, it has 57, and it’s the health care frontier that we have to tackle next or we’re going to have a country in which only the rich can afford to get their teeth fixed. Infected teeth have a big impact on overall health and we don’t pay enough attention to this issue.

Somali al-Shabab commanders ‘killed in drone strike’.

At least two senior commanders from the Islamist militant group al-Shabab have been killed in a drone strike in south-west Somalia, residents say.

Several loud blasts were heard in the town of Bardere at dawn and the bodies were found later, they said.

There has been no official confirmation from the al-Qaeda-linked group, but a source told a BBC reporter that those killed were al-Shabab commanders.

Bardere is one of the few towns still controlled by al-Shabab.

McCain has absolutely no capacity for self-reflection, not to mention logic or historical memory. He’s probably has gotten to the point where he believes he had nothing to do with Palin and she just appeared out of the thin, noxious air.

There really is something wrong with him – that he cannot see what he unleashed. I’m thinking the “moderate” stance was always a ruse with skillful marketing. He has to be as crazy as all of them to not be a voice of reason – ever.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/washington-mayor-racist_55a71677e4b04740a3defd84

The mayor of a small city in Washington reportedly admitted that he called President Barack Obama “monkey man” and first lady Michelle Obama “gorilla face,” but says he will not resign over the racist comments.

“Gorilla face Michelle, can’t disagree with that,” Patrick Rushing, mayor of Airway Heights, reportedly wrote in a Facebook post. “The woman is not attractive except to monkey man Barack. Check out them ears. LOL.”

The comments led the city council to call for his resignation on Monday.

“When a figurehead makes comments such as these that sets us back and it’s hard to come back from,” police chief and acting city manager Lee Bennett told KXLY, the local ABC station.

However, Rushing insists he will not step down from his role as mayor of the city, which is just outside of Spokane and has a population of nearly 6,500, according to Census data.

“I made a mistake. I owned up to my mistake,” Rushing told the Spokesman-Review. “If I do resign that’s admitting I’m a racist and I’m not.”

He also told local NBC station KHQ that the comments were just “playful back and forth banter that my friends and I do.”

***This is what racists do all the time “playful back and forth banter that my friends and I do.”

Why is that obvious racists refuse to admit they’re racists? If you act like a racist, think like a racist and speak like one, guess what? This guy needs to be forced to resign, not just asked. If there’s a town council, they should begin the local equivalent of impeachment proceedings. The man is unfit for office.

Mr. 57, who grew up in the racist neighborhoods of south Chicago, has tried this excuse with me: that they don’t mean it to be derogatory and therefore it isn’t. an ongoing battle between us but I’ve made some headway.

    • July 16, 2015 at 9:25 am

I saw this about the sorry racists Mayor a few days ago. There are alot like him and his friends. But if you listen to them just because you dislike this President or First Lady it does not mean you are a racists. And I like to say to them, they are so right, it means you are a liar and a racists.

I have nothing against Bruce Jenner, or shall I say Caitlyn Ladies and gentlemen it all has to do with race. Then you had that idiot David Frum implying that Serena must have used steroids. Of course we aren’t as beautiful as they are, we aren’t as smart as they are, we can’t do the things they do, our body don’t look like theirs so something must be wrong with us. That is the kind of B.S. black women have been hearing for centuries, and it still goes on. Just my opinion folks.

    • July 16, 2015 at 10:13 am

And she/he should have not be given the Arthur Ashe award. It should go to an athlete who has overcome personal hardships to become a better athlete — or an athlete who has used their status to help mankind. Arthur Ashe overcame the stigma of racism to become a great athlete only to succumb to AIDS at 46. Jenner becoming a woman and having a reality show is not the same IMO, even though she will inspire many transgender people.

I disagree. ‘Coming out’ for a male athlete is huge. I understand your belief that it doesn’t meet the technical definition, but Jenner has been a role model for athletes and others for a long time. This is a very important acknowlegement.

    GM TODville.

Hate the lurid dogwhistle tweet, but article does have information of interest for next week (cannot believe that the Africa trip is here already — what a whirlwind month [since SCOTUS upheld ACA]).

“The White House invited a large contingent of lawmakers, prominently members of the Congressional Black Caucus, to join him on the Africa trip. Reps. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), Cedric Richmond (D-La.), G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.), Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) and Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) will attend.”

    snip /

“Butterfield said he planned to use the trip to stress to both Kenyan and Ethiopian officials Congress’ commitment to them as trade, national security and diplomatic partners.

‘Kenya is a strategic partner and they have some unique challenges and certainly Ethiopia does too. They need to be reassured that America is an ally and that we care about the continent in its entirety,’ said Butterfield, who chairs the black caucus.”

I doubt if FLOTUS and the girls will be going. If I’m not mistaken, FLOTUS will be going to California July 25 because she will be at the opening of the Special Olympics. POTUS will be in Kenya then, when do he suppose to leave for his Africa trip?

Good morning everyone. Yes, the President is in Oklahoma, and his coverage has been positive and good. The daily paper has FOUR pages of pictures of him with the Choctaw Nation, and good write-ups. One interesting article was about presidential arrivals, and how they can ‘become awkward” stupid headline, and mentions the finger-wagging and full on snubs. Then it tells what the President did yesterday with our stupid governor Mary Fallin……at least this time she greeted him. “Obama made the move, offering Fallin a kiss on the cheek, before the two chatted briefly on the tarmac.” Then another article headlined Gov. says President Obama always welcome in Oklahoma.” The local stations are positively giddy. The Choctaw nation is thrilled. The president of the Choctaw nation said President Obama has been the best president for Native Americans in U.S. history. That opinion carries a lot of weight here. Of course a few stupid people had to “protest” with their treasonous confederate flags, but they were a small group, and looked ignorant. Today’s visit to El Reno and the federal prison will be interesting.

As you know, my husband is failing rapidly. He is in a skilled nursing facility for ‘rehab” but with his conditions, that is mostly futile. Last night I told him that the President, whom he adores, and he is an old white man, was in Oklahoma City for the night, so he was in the same city as the president, and he smiled and said he was glad. Whenever he sees the president on TV he always says: “And we SAW him, right here.” Which we did,in 2007.

Next week I will bring my husband home with hospice. He wants to be here with our little dog and me, in our sunroom, his favorite place in the house. It will accommodate a hospital bed, and I can be near him. I will have hospice nurses and aides, and other people to spell me. He told me yesterday he thinks he has two weeks. I would be thankful for that.

Donald Trump’s ‘Time to Get Tough’!

Donald Trump officially put his name in the ring for the 2016 elections, and he touched down like a tornado with his presidential announcement at the Trump Tower in New York.

The well-known entrepreneur and American success story is brazenly taking a stab at real change for our country, with a solid plan to do away with the “losers” who run what was once the most powerful nation in the world.

His announcement speech exposed the flaws of the nation’s leaders and recalled strong elements from his best-selling book, “Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again.”

America has become the world’s “dumping ground” for everyone else’s problems. A “whipping boy” for other countries as we sink further and further into the debt of no return.

Trump warns of so-called leaders willingly giving our jobs to foreign hands and further crippling the economy. Literally taking future opportunities from our children and grandchildren.

Meanwhile those same leaders feed America’s looming debt beast — an $18 trillion tab — with foreign aid and terrible negotiations.

And what then do we get for extending our wealth to help a legion of other countries? Lack of respect. We’re the “laughingstock” of the world.

Americans are tired. They’re apathetic when it comes to political rhetoric. And Trump wants to “Make America Great Again.”

“Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again” is a pointed reflection on America today. It’s a face-the-facts profile of the damage the Obama administration has done and the concrete solutions needed to stop our decline. Some topics include:

How to undo the fraud of Obamanomics and the disaster of Obamacare
How to secure our border and stop Mexico’s illegal tidal wave
How to create American jobs by forcing Communist China into truly fair trade
How to retire our debt without endangering long-established programs — like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid — that millions of Americans depend on
How to put OPEC out of business
Get Trump’s ‘Time to Get Tough’ With FREE Offer – Go Here Now

Predicting the 2016 race to be an election of “competence,” Trump is not shying away from his almost $9 billion net worth.

He’s boldly advertising his successes as a reminder of how we need to think as a country to stop the imminent decline into third-world status.

Trump is fully funding his presidential run, leaving no room for persuasion from lobbyists and corporate interests.

This unusual advantage in the race will allow him to maintain razor focus on his campaign, unlike other hopefuls who spend half their time raising money (and looking out for private interests of their donors).

Trump said of career politicians, “They will never make America great again,” adding that “they’re controlled fully by the lobbyists, by the donors, and by the special interests, fully.”

Could Donald Trump be the answer to a broken system after all?
