    Good morning again, Chips.
My final word on Greece is that I hope the loony left emos are watching and understand that Not Now and Not Ever will a Leftist government be permitted to prevail.
RidenwithBiden is the only viable option for a decent people-centered country.

I sympathize with the Greek people. Their parks lands national resources of all kinds will be taken away and bestowed on the banksters.
The lesson is clear. Runaways of any kind will be severely punished.

A Sanders presidency (God Forbid) would work out much as the destruction of Greece has.

Anyone plans to watch HRC’s big economic speech starting at 10AM?

    • 6 amk for obama
      July 13, 2015 at 9:55 am

With so many other big things happening this week, she chooses now to talk about economy?

I guess her campaign learnt zilch from the last one.

        July 13, 2015 at 9:58 am

Yeah…The timing of this speech is a bit curious. She’s not even the Dem presidential nominee and few people are really paying attention at this point. The economy is not doing badly…there’s nothing she can say now that has not been or is not already being pursued by the current administration. I don’t quite get this…

well knowing, it’s not gonna be a grand marshall plan. so, why not until the present excitements die down?

        • July 13, 2015 at 10:39 am

Her MO appears to be all about flying under the radar. Like someone (Vicki, I think) said earlier, her campaign is like watching paint dry.

        • July 13, 2015 at 12:15 pm

This is ALL about Bernie Sanders’s growing popularity. Hillary wants to show that she, also, cares for the middle class and the poor.

Hillary and her team had planned a very low-profile campaign. They’ll have to readjust, obviously.

“This is ALL about Bernie Sanders’s growing popularity”

hahahahaha every time I see a statement like this I crack up. Interesting because when I ask about the dem field, most folks are completely unaware Bernie Sanders was running or know he is running but have no idea who he is.

            too funny.

So far from the quotes I’ve seen on twitter is that she is once again stating the obvious, simple ideas that have been bread and butter Dem positions put forward by PBO for years. Nothing new, I don’t think. Yawn. ZZzzzzzz

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari sacks military chiefs.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the army, navy and air force chiefs, his spokesman has told the BBC.

Mr Buhari is expected to announce their replacements soon.

This move does not come as a surprise, as the president has repeatedly criticised the military’s inability to defeat Islamist militants Boko Haram.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump praised President Obama in 2009 in his book Think Like A Champion and on CNN’s Larry King Live.
Trump, who is currently hovering near the top of the Republican field in recent presidential polls, wrote of Obama in his book, “what he has done is amazing.”
Trump added, “the fact that he accomplished what he has—in one year and against great odds—is truly phenomenal.”
Trump also wrote he thought Obama “has the mark of a strong leader” and said Obama’s comments on the economy “have led me to believe that he understands how the economy works on a comprehensive level.”

Life in Iowa this summer is getting weird. This morning while eating breakfast in front of the TV, I had to suffer thru a Rick Perry ad saying he was raised in a church in Paint Creek, TX. 🙄 That’s funny – his earlier commercial said he was raised in a house with no plumbing or something. Right after that, there’s an ad for Bobby Jindahl saying he’s tired of hyphenated Americans. Guess what, Bobby – everyone is tired of you. 😮 Bobby was even at my local library yesterday – speaking to folks who probably only came in for the A/C to escape the heat. Haven’t seen any Kasich ads yet, but it’s early. Saw two bumper stickers in my ‘hood yesterday: Ted Cruz for President (80 year old lady’s Lincoln Town Car) and Bernie 2016 (old junker car). Does anybody else have this level of insanity yet or just the Hawkeye State? 🙄

Hi, niliathiel. Glad you are back. I am sorry for singling Angela out yesterday. I would have been more accurate if I called out the ruling Banksters.
I also understand your not wanting to throw your good money after bad in Greece.

In my view, no leftist gov’t will be allowed to stay in power.

I applaud the Greek people for trying to throw off the yoke. Their punishment will be horrid. Warning!!!!! to Spain and Portugal.

Any money moving around is more likely to bail out the bankers who made the bad loans rather than the unfortunate debtors.

      • July 13, 2015 at 11:58 am

        I appreciate it. 🙂
And as I said yesterday, I do not at all mind opinions that differ from my own. What bugged me was that some things were seen a little out of perspective. What bugged me more were some terms being thrown around (and I am sure they were not intended to hurt) such as saying Germany was “bullying again” or other things I can´t recall that were just hurtful because they at least for me bore allusions to a time tht we worked hard and succeeded well in leaving behind us. Thus my outcry. 🙂

This man dropped out of collage and has worked in government all his life. He lies every step of the way and does the opposite from what he says he will do and WI eats it up. Maybe they are just more trusting but in the Age-of-Obama you can no longer get away with that with the rest of the country. Maybe it will work in Red states but his lies and flip-flops will do him in. I repeat your statement Linda:

Scott Walker will NEVER be President. No matter how much money the Kochs spend and I hope they spend lots.

According to Steve Benen, Dem. presidential candidate Jim Webb was on Fox yesterday pining for the days when Southern/Northern lower middle class whites voted for democrats (i.e., the time before Dems ended legal apartheid in these United States in the mid 1960’s). Webb stated “You’re right, the party has moved way far to the left. That’s not my Democratic Party in and of itself. We need to bring working people back into the formula.” In Webb’s worldview (a view he shares with Bernie Sanders and a depressingly large number of old school establishment Dems) only White folks work in this country, which is an insulting, untrue and racist mindset. When asked about Trump, Webb condemned his rhetoric but was quick to add that Dems are often equally disparaging of “Southern White cultures”. He seems genuinely troubled by the absence of overt and vocal racists in the Dem party. I know Webb does not stand an ice cubes chance in Hell of winning the nomination, but I point out his and Bernie Sanders’ race baiting because it is illustrative of a civil war that seems to be occurring within the Democratic party. They seem angry that Black folks voted for PBO twice. Since PBO cannot run for a third term, wouldn’t it make rational sense to court Black voters (as well as the entire Obama coalition for that matter) if one is seeking the Dem nomination? A Black man is in the final phase of a successful two term presidency (best American president in generations and one of the most consequential) and people in his own party not only run away from him, but run away from Black voters. It makes no rational sense, but does seem to fit into my theory that a large percentage of the Dem establishment does not want the Dem party to be perceived as the “Black folks party”. To these folks all votes are not created equal.

I get John Oliver’s take on this……but Whoopi’s point is and has always been to hear all sides before pronouncing a final judgement. On Mel Gibson, Cosby and another person, she spoke based on her personal views. I get that……..one is innocent until proven guilty……however, when tapes are compiled in isolation like this,it looks damning. Whoopi is also speaking from experience……she was ‘Blackballed” when she made a joke about ‘bush’ and those on the right went after her……it cost her a TV Talk show and a TV sitcom and other gigs. I wish Oliver had context in this piece.
