Marvin Gaye, Aretha, Al Greene…. what better way to celebrate peace and goodness our President is bringing into the world.

So it’s been exactly 7 days since I started this new weight loss plan. I’ve actually been trying to eat healthier for at least 2weeks now. But this morning was my first weigh in after this 1st week of tracking and trying my best ro adhere to the plan I selected.

    Drumroll please…

I’ve lost 5lbs from watching my food intake, primarily. I’ll be adding sone exercise soon as I get the clearance from my doctor!

It was a tough 1st week…but I learned a good bit about my eating habits!

So in celebration of losing the 5 lbs on less than par food choices I decided to make one of my favorite soul food dishes for my lunch this week. I used all low fat or fat free ingredients. With the right amount of portion sizing I was able to make lunch or dinner for next 4 days!

Here is my Stuffed Bell Peppers w/ground turkey and shrimp and low fat baked mac and cheese…

Pics: before & after (with portion control)..

I also went to Costco for the first time…wow, it’s def nicer than Walmart!

Congratulations!! You should feel proud of this accomplishment, and be inspired to continue. Well done! Let this victory carry you through any plateaus in the future. 🙂

      I love Costcos.

      • July 14, 2015 at 12:43 am

It’s def a good place, but man, I live alone and many of the bulk thithithings are way too much for one person…lol. but I can total see using them more as I begun to plan out my new weight plan meals into my monthly budget

I have the same problem – there are two of us, but it’s still a lot to buy food from there and use it all. I prefer to buy stuff like freezer bags, detergent, etc. from there.

portion control is EVERYTHING! you should keep reducing the portions more and more over time, and adding more and more physical activity. doesn’t need to be drastic, but just keep it going in those directions. you’ll be amazed at the changes in your body and in your energy levels. keep eating what you like, but just do it in smaller and smaller quantities over time. we’re talking many months of time here.

people worry about aging and feeling older and more broken down all the time, but if you do these simple things, you’ll start to feel like you’re actually getting younger (to a certain age at least…many years later than you are now). you can do this!!

    • July 14, 2015 at 5:22 am

Congratsssssssssssssssssssss…i know how difficult it can be to change eating habits and to add exercise to your life regiment…..I wish you much success…..Clapppin

You can sleep tomorrow. There’s just way too much going on! I feel like I’ve been watching BBC until 3am each night, since they start their work day at midnight my time. I’m exhausted, but exhilarated!

I am up with you, but it seems the media is ignoring this event as much as possible. BBC was concern trolling, not reporting.
US Congress can’t do a thing and yet that will be the subject the focus is on, it seems.
Same idea as usual. Good news for American people and the World is no news they want to report.

I wonder if any reporting and celebration will be allowed by corporate media overlords.
