Thanks for this Chips! Looks like from a pure logistics standpoint actual announcement will be tomorrow given the text that still needs to be worked out. And I can’t imagine it will be in NY at UN, would take it from neutral territory which would not be in keeping with the talks to date.

It’s funny the moments that stand out in your mind. I was on board with PBO’s campaign from the day he announced. But my utter devotion began on the day he said he would talk to any one, any place, any time. And remember the ridicule that poured down on him from HRC and McCain? His naivete, etc. etc but he refused to back down. I was so tired of war, torture, etc after the years of Bush. And that moment specifically was related to Iran. So for me, this is such a validation of my belief in him from those many years ago. For all of his many accomplishments, for which I am so grateful, this is the ONE I have longed for:-)

I think the Chinese FM, Wang, is in Vienna already??? If not, he is on his way.
Nothing concrete will happen until all FMs assemble.

This is the BIGGEST News today.

Nevermind, with a shrug, to presidential candidates who will not be President. I am not interested in and will not listen to or comment upon any of them. D, I, or R. Losers, the lot of them.

Meta posted some hopeful news about fundraisers rallying for VPOTUS. That is what I will focus on next.

After Serena wins the US Open and becomes the first female Grand Slam Winner since Steffie Graf in 1988.

    Serena—then Joe Biden. Winners.

Not much of a drinker, but I think I may have to be ready to lift a toast to Kerry and PBO and all the members , of all the nations, who worked on this despite opposition in their home countries.

Thanks for this, meta. Among his many other qualities, Kerry is a deeply religious man.

    Andy Roddick

Former world number one on BBC TV

“Back in the ’04 final, we went off for a pretty significant rain delay and it’s never easy. I remember walking behind Roger and I was sweating like I had done something very wrong. I looked on the back of Roger’s neck and there was not a drop of sweat on there. I may have lost that match right there.”

“An important step towards restoring peace and stability in Libya has been taken today. With the initialing of the political agreement, the House of Representatives, the independents and representatives of Misrata proved their determination to find a peaceful solution to the crisis that, for almost one year, has divided, impoverished, and inflicted suffering on the Libyan people. They have taken the future of Libya in their hands, in a responsible and courageous way.

I hope that those who have not yet initialed the agreement could display a similar spirit of consensus and responsibility, in the interest of all the Libyan people.

The European Union is ready to support a government of national accord (GNA), as soon as it is established, so that all Libyans can quickly reap the benefits of this move towards peace and stability. In particular, the EU will immediately help with capacity and institution building to national and local authorities, with a view to assist with the rapid resumption of service delivery, should the Libyan authorities require so, in a spirit of equal partnership.

I would like to thank the UNSG Special Representative Bernardino Lรฉon for his tireless efforts to bring parties towards a deal, and the Government of Morocco for supporting the UN led dialogue. The EU has been consistently and actively supporting this process and is committed to continue to do so in the future.”

    Yes, I am anxious to hear a positive outcome from Vienna;

but I get ruffled by people who say that Iranian Talks are “taking too long”

my thought bubble when faced with such criticism is : “For heaven’s sake, it is the fate of nuclear arms at the center of these negotiations …. and remember that the key nations had not talked directly for 35 yrs …. these talks are something that many never expected to see and are happening because of PBO”

  32. July 12, 2015 at 12:08 pm

This is important. Let’s not forget the miserable history of George W. Bush.
