Sloe Gin is one of my faves too. This is so funny šŸ™‚ My ex was a musician. I’ve heard Joe play this live on more than one continent. Rode on the tour bus for a few days in Italy šŸ˜‰

What fun, MadameSoph!! He’s very talented….you’re someone that I’d love to have dinner with and enjoy sharing life experiences with (as so many people here are!) You just have a very interesting and varied life….love that:)

Why thank you desertflower! I probably met/saw you at one of the Joe shows (it’s been several years since I had a connection). Coincidentally, I heard Sloe Gin tonight on my way home from a client. Maybe the TODers will organize a farewell dinner before January 2017, wouldn’t that be fun? I decided my plan is to make my Italy move after I vote in the 2016 election and let my last memories of living in the US be all PBO ones šŸ™‚

P.S. are you the one who posted the Colbert marriage equality YouTube?

šŸ™‚ Great idea about that move to Italy! Never been to a show that he’s done…just flipping through channels one night in bed and PBS had his Royal Albert Hall concert on…I was mesmerized. Loved him ever since. I may have been the one that posted Colbert…yes, I do believe that was me:)

Well, thanks to you I found his website for the new Late Show! It’s full of super interesting behind the scenes audio podcasts and funny video content. The latest one “Only in Monroe” is a Between Two Ferns-style take-over of an actual public access show in Monroe Michigan. It’s 40 minutes of deadpan humor and it’s just…. well there are no words šŸ™‚

Also, I remember that you were asking where Eddie Murphy has been recently and Kevin Hart was talking about that very thing in his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee episode. He told Jerry Seinfeld that Eddie is still funny, and that he asked him why he won’t perform anymore and Eddie said that he ended his stand-up career on such a high note, he doesn’t think he can ever reach that again:

Well there is dumb, and there is stupid, and this guy and his friend are both

“An Indigenous affairs adviser to Prime Minister Tony Abbott has apologised for wearing a Confederate flag costume to an event, saying he was “unaware” of the flag’s connection to racial tensions after a mass shooting in the United States.”

    The brain hurts.

Good evening TOD! The Fifth Circuit will hear oral arguments on Friday on the government’s request to lift the stay imposed by our lovely judge here in TX on PBO’s executive actions on immigration (DAPA portion). I would guess the court will rule within 90 days at the latest. So hope this gets lifted so the country can see that the US will not fall apart because of these actions before the election. It also will give us a pretty good sense of how the court will rule on the underlying lawsuit as one of the major tests the plaintiffs must meet in order to continue the injunction is ā€œliklihood of success on the meritsā€. In other words, the plaintiff states that brought the suit must demonstrate that they have a very good chance of succeeding on the merits of their lawsuit at trial in order for the court to continue the stay during the remainder of the proceedings. Given the delays in the courts, my guess is that this will essentially decide the action. By the time this gets to trial, gets tried, and then possibly appealed again, PBO will be out of office. So this hearing is critical. Will be keeping my fingers crossed.

    Just got online—
Got home from a REALLY long and tiring day at work ready to take a bath, check email and relax in front of TV
Unfortunately power was off in our building. All other units were fine except ours! Power company came at about 7pm and JUST recently got done fixing it and turned back on.
It was HOT, no power, no fan, no ac. And worse, no internet connection.

I am so out of the loop and tired but I just wanted to echo what jojo said in another thread about Bernie.
I, too, dislike him immensely, for similar reasons jojo cited. This stems from his time doing Thom Hartman’s radio show – where he would invite Bernie on every Friday and give him a tongue bath. Bernie in turn constantly turned up the Chicken Little act, complaining about EVERYTHING and gave Pres. Obama no credit for anything. In fact, during the elections, I never once heard Bernie tout anything positive Dems did (I know he’s Independent, but still) and was always in eeyore mood. Very depressing, so much that I had to stop listening to Thom.

Now to hear Bernie casting doubt on the unemployment numbers, so much so the right wingers are parroting his nonsense? I wish I can say I’m surprised, but nope- I’m not.
I bet they’re sending him baskets of fruit and bouquet of flowers.

    I’m so done with him
