Joe Biden For President

Vice President Joe Biden is AMAZING. Why? Because he has heart. He cares so much for people. He doesn’t care how many zeros you have have behind your name. He cares about you as a person. For VP Biden, people are not abstract. People matter. Their hopes matter. Their disappointments matter. Their failures matter. Their obstacles matter. Their dreams matter. Their futures matter. How blessed we are to live in a country where we can proudly say, Joe Biden is Vice President of the United States of America

For those who missed this beautiful first story earlier in the week…

    Important news!

We’ve decided on a menu for tonight.

Broiled flat iron steak, seasoned with Hitching Post Magic Dust
    Fried potatoes
Garden salad made with our homegrown tomatoes.

While I can’t stand Lindsey Graham, that is a very moving statement about VP Joe and one that rings true in every way.

      • July 4, 2015 at 4:23 pm

It really was Meta, I didn’t think Graham had it in him to be that sincere. A heartfelt, lovely tribute. He’s still a shithole, though. 🙂

Lindsey Grahmn and many of the old GOP senators were idealologes until the Teabagger and Koch’s started threats of primarying them and of course the twice elected PBO made them lose their minds.

          • July 4, 2015 at 5:33 pm

You know what, I said this the other day when I saw this concerning Lindsey Graham kind words about VP Biden. I’m not buying it, because over the last six and a half years I have watch Republicans like Graham act as if this President were the worst thing since Hitler, all because their base were racists and they hated this President. There was no respect for this President from Graham, and the others.

            • July 4, 2015 at 5:40 pm

I think VP Biden is a good man, but so is our President. And he deserve respect too and the last six and a half years he has not gotten it from folks like Lindsey Graham.

Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July…and it’s Mali’s birthday. YAY! LG is still a “piece of you know what”, but I’m sure there is some heart felt feelings here about VP Biden…until, and unless he decides to run from POTUS.
My sister has said in the past, just you wait and years (decades) from now some of these SAME POS will be telling tales of their good relationships and admiration for President Obama, rewriting history if need be, or telling what went on behind closed doors. If the Repugs were people of integrity and goodwill they would do right by this country and cut their rabid racist base loose. But they say and doing anything to please their masters like the Kochs, and the NRA. Basically theirs masters are money and power, and their last thought is serving the people of this country to the highest degree.

    Attention Congress:

  8. July 4, 2015 at 4:20 pm

That is our generation’s task: to make these words, these rights, these values of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness real for every American…

For now decisions are upon us and we cannot afford delay. We cannot mistake absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate. We must act, knowing that our work will be imperfect. We must act, knowing that today’s victories will be only partial and that it will be up to those who stand here in four years and 40 years and 400 years hence to advance the timeless spirit once conferred to us in a spare Philadelphia hall…

You and I, as citizens, have the power to set this country’s course. You and I, as citizens, have the obligation to shape the debates of our time, not only with the votes we cast, but with the voices we lift in defense of our most ancient values and enduring ideals.

Tiger played awesome Thursday in the WV PGA Tour event (-4) but kept bogeying/birdieing yesterday (ended day E) when he should have easily been -7 at a minimum..then he started today on a roll got to -7 on the front 9 with the two par 5’s on the back and fell apart (ended 1 over -3 for the tournament and the leader is at -12)…at least he shot his lowest opening round score since 2013 but he has no shot of winning this one.

Anybody watching the Germany vs. England WC game? Could easily be 2-1 either way but score is nil-nil….been entertaining regardless!

“On October 13, 2008 the Grateful Dead’s “core four” of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann reunited for the first time since 2004 for a concert in State College, Pennsylvania to support the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. Obama went on to win the election and hasn’t forgotten the support from the members of The Dead. President Obama has shared a message in celebration of the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary in advance of this weekend’s shows.

“Here’s to fifty years of the Grateful Dead, an iconic American Band that embodies the creativity, passion and ability to bring people together that makes American music so great. Enjoy this weekend’s celebration of your fans and legacy. And as Jerry would say, ‘Let there be songs to fill the air,'” reads the message from President Obama. The message was accompanied by a photo from the members of The Dead and their entourage’s visit to the White House on April 13, 2009. Tonight marks the first of three Fare Thee Well – Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead performances at Soldier Field in Chicago that are billed as the final time the “core four” will all share the stage together.”

There’s plenty of options to watch and listen to this weekend’s shows live from Chicago. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/125546/Fare-Thee-Well-Announces-YouTube-Webcast

You guys all know this, but 4th of July changed forever for me and my family, as I held my Mother’s hand just before dawn ~ I saw and felt her Soul lift from her body and ascend to a place I could only partially accompany her to. The Light and Joy were unmistakably from another dimension. I had to return, but that glimpse of Heaven has kept me in a state of bliss every since. Pretty much. Signing off again, this is a day I enjoy spending with my Mom, as I know she is near. Many blessings, everyone stay cool, stay safe and enjoy the celebrations. ❤

MP, thanks for sharing. May this special light always shine on your path. I tried but missed being there for both of my parents and still feel I missed something very tender. As a midwife, it was an amazing privilege to bring > 200 little lives into this world, but it is an equal privilege to ease a loved one out of our world.

You truly reside in a state of grace, MP. That you share that love and light with all of us is a treasured gift.

I lost my dad when I had just turned 19 and my mother two years later. My mother (and my beloved brother in 2000) died alone, which has haunted me my entire life. To be there as your beloved family member finds true peace is a blessing.

My heart, prayers and positive energy are with you this day, and always my dear friend.

    Typical Hillary :

Now that she is monitoring and seeing the progress on the Iranian Talks, today she is FINALLY weighing in them – but in wait and see approach while at the same time trying to associate herself with them should the pass.

just heard her comments made in New Hampshire. Yes, I am biased but to me they sound non-committal but while ensuring that should a deal come out soon she can say she had something on record.

As usual – putting her finger out in the wind

Just got off the phone with my sister and little hero, so I could gush all over him and tell him how proud I am of him.
He told me yesterday’s event at the pool “… was a little scary, but I couldn’t just sit there and do nothing. The lifeguard needed some help.”
    What a cool kid! 😎 😎 😀 [That’s my boy!]

Sis said what’s ironic is how nephew is usually a little nervous in the pool at first. Takes a while to settle himself before he’s comfortable going to the deep end. She wasn’t there with him yesterday. Her brother-in-law had taken nephew and several boys, including his son, to the pool to cool off. It’s unusually hot there these days.

Me to Nephew: “Hey, what’s little boy’s name who you helped?”
    Nephew: “John”
    Me: “How’s John doing today?”
Nephew: “Alive and breathing, that’s for sure!” [he chuckled]:

Note to Self: Must not squeeze all the life juice out of the child upon his return home – no matter how happy & proud you are! 🙂

You are always dotting on these young ones in your circle – as a great auntie should.

Now the young man has gone and done something so spectacular and very human – so that even strangers want him to know how great his act of humanity – although he was a little scared himself.

      Yes, we are very proud and grateful to him;

God help you when you finally see him!!!

Dudette, I wasn’t on line yesterday and I’m slowly trying to catch up. I read that your nephew saved a boy from drowning at the pool. What a courageous thing to do. He is a hero. You have every right to gush and be proud of him, as we all are here.

Update on the time of PBO’s remarks to military families (before?) the Bruno Mars concert.

PBO’s remarks will happen at 8:45pm instead of 6pm EDT. Don’t know when fireworks are launched further north, but they happen here at 9pm (or midnight on the east coast).

Here’s further clarification (that BBQ won’t be served at the concert, LOL. Event is sponsored by the USO):
