208,000 part-time jobs

I fear last month we got a bit too swept up in optimism & this month there's too much pessimism.
Reality: The recovery keeps motoring along
—
Justin Wolfers (@JustinWolfers) July 02, 2015
Here's the really good news: Every month that we learn that we can get more people back to work without stoking inflation, is fantastic.

So the great news here is that we're learning that the equilibrium unemployment rate is lower—perhaps much lower—than many feared.

Over the past three months the economy has added an average of +221k jobs per month. That's pretty darn healthy. Don't lose sight of that.

SHELBY, N.C. — The sister of the Charleston church shooter, Dylann Roof, is asking the public for donations–but not for her brother.
Amber Roof is asking for $5,000 on a Go Fund Me page to pay for her and her fiance’s wedding, which was originally scheduled for June 21.
They canceled the wedding after her brother was accused of the shooting at Emanuel AME church just three days earlier.

Wow! Well I am sorry that her joyous day was ruined and I have no idea what role she played in her brothers life but she can go to the courthouse and get married if that is their ultimate goal and have a friend give a nice simple house reception for them sometime later. Your brother just killed 9 innocent people so in the grand scheme of things a wedding in not all that important. Geesh
Totally agree with you, Donna. Congrats on first and on not having to shelter in place. UGH!
Thanks Judith!
I’m sorry, but there’s something seriously wrong with that whole Roof family. Your crazed, hate-filled brother kills nine innocent people and you care about having a fancy wedding? Why should anyone feel sorry for this woman?

bj fp’ers like betty and anne whine a lot about ‘how others’ saying the real job growth that pays gazillions is not there, conveniently what shitty positions they were in 2008.
conveniently forgetting …
What I noticed this month that was added to the report was that wages had not gone up. Never heard the wage part mentioned before. It is like there was nothing negative to report so they threw in a new catagory. Wonder how they measure that anyway?
Great tweets, ut.
Thanks, Amk.
Big deal!!!
I think it’s ON!!!!

Donald Trump’s hotel business is investigating claims that it is the latest US firm to fall victim to a credit and debit card security breach.
Security expert Brian Krebs reported that US banks had identified a pattern of fraudulent transactions involving accounts that had been used at a Trump Hotel Collection property.
The attack appeared to date back to February, he said.
The company said it was carrying out a “thorough investigation”.

A French court has cancelled the suspension of France’s Jean-Marie Le Pen from the National Front (FN), the far-right party he founded.
The party said it would appeal, and that members were still due to vote on Mr Le Pen’s position.
Mr Le Pen, 86, was suspended following a feud with his daughter Marine, who now leads the party.
Marine Le Pen is trying to steer the party away from its racist and anti-Semitic past.
The court in Nanterre ruled that the correct procedure had not been followed in suspending Mr Le Pen. It ordered the party to reinstate to him “all the rights attached to his status as a member and, if necessary, as honorary president”.
It added that from Friday morning he could “start using his office again and all the means that were at his disposal and sit in all the bodies in which he was taking part as honorary president”.
However, FN deputy leader Florian Philippot said party members were taking part in an online ballot that closes on 10 July on whether to cancel Mr Le Pen’s honorary presidency.
“In concrete terms, it does not change anything,” said FN secretary general Nicolas Bay. “He’ll become a member of the Front’s leadership for one week, but there won’t be a meeting during that time.”

BTW amk, re: your comment at the bottom of the previous thread …. we both know that VP Joe will do it his way and that’s all that matters 🙂
I know. Peeps need to stop listening to the effing cable noise and their effing pundtwits.
The answer is MOOLA. Fundraising is crucial.
big money vs Small Money. And we know which won in the last two cycles.
And you know if unohoo throws in the hat, unohoo will get all the money. 🙂
I’ve never had cable and haven’t listened to punditry for 8 years. BLISS.
Don’t watch cable news. I’m the one that rails against it every chance I get. My observations are from watching peoples reactions to these campaigns on blogs, twitter, Facebook, friends and family.
BTW, nearly 1/3 of the country does not know who the Vice President of The United States is. Now that could change drastically in PBO throws his support behind him. 😉
“What 500 Days Of The Ukraine Crisis Have Taught Us
Today is the 500th day of The Interpreter’s live coverage of Ukraine (read that coverage here). While the day is not an anniversary in the traditional sense, it is a milestone which marks two events — the day the Ukrainian police tried to storm Maidan Square to try to end the Euromaidan Revolution, and this magazine’s humble efforts to cover the events which have transpired since.
As such, the milestone gives us an opportunity to reflect not only on a year and a half of revolution and armed conflict, but the methodologies which our small team of three have chosen to use to record history, in real time, to the best of our abilities.”

James K: Dustin Brown’s aggressive style and outrageous reactions are so brilliant to watch! Forcing Nadal into so many errors.
I have no idea who this guy is.
Apparently, prior to today, neither did a lot of folk. Dakota posted some insights, above. If he wins this thing, he’ll never be forgotten 🙂

That should definitely change. He’s quite entertaining to watch.
Yeah, he’s Jamaican/German. Was having a hard time with sponsors in Jamaica, so he went to Germany and was able to secure them and is doing much better in recent years. Giving Rafa fits right now and yes, he is a hottie!
Hundreds of people, many wearing Obama campaign T-shirts, lined the sides of the building by midmorning as they waited to enter. … There were no apparent protesters. Billboards along the highway leading into the city of about 50,000 flashed messages welcoming the president to La Crosse.

Hello TOD.
Great Tweets, NW.
A POTUS’ job is Never done 😉
Great Job News! Boomers are retiring in record numbers daily…….even though the Millennials are now larger in population than the Boomers, there is a gap in Job workforce participation between the two groups.
I am thrilled for Sen Sanders and his fan base……..Lefties, Liberals, Dems of all stripes need grassroots participation. The GOPers are always doing something to energize their base, every 2-3 weeks. This form of engagement makes their base, Loyal Voters every 2 yrs. Sanders Crowd have been FreeSpeech, Thom Hartman’s and The Nation’s Subscribers……..One thing that I am especially thrilled about is that since Jan 2009, this is so far, the 1st Summer that Pres Obama is Totally dominating and dictating the News Cycle on and at his own pace.
Scott Walker looked awfully glad to see POTUS. He was really leaning in there. Wonder what he was thanking him for?!
Meta, he is sucking up to try and get votes from PBO’s supporters.
Yeap! Bad at prediction, bad at his job.
He hasn’t blocked me yet, tell me what to say and I will tell him for you.
