As Bob noted, it looks like the Iran deal is close to completion. Absolutely mind boggling when you think of the US-Iran relationship when PBO came into office. McCain’s “bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” now seems like a different century. Grateful every day I wake up and PBO still is the President. And forever grateful to Chips, NW and everyone here at TOD for a place to celebrate the victories! He has changed the course of history in so many ways.

Firefox, I have that “different century” feeling about a lot of things now that so many paradigms have been changed by President Obama. PBO has simply taken Republican obsessions and turned them on their heads. He has left them sputtering, not understanding that the world has changed around them and they’re no longer relevant. All of the Republican candidates for president sound like they’re speaking from another era. They should be sepia toned and their voices crackly, like old recordings.

Hi Foxfire. It WAS a different century. Nevermind the year.

LOL!!! i especially loved the c/c of Minnesota vs. Wisconsin. It must really hurt to know that just over the border the neighboring state is doing so much better. I still cannot believe that Scott Walker was re-elected after all of that sound and fury that many of us supported in real ways. If we learn nothing else about the past 7 years, it must be that elections have real life consequences that will affect our daily lives.

        • July 2, 2015 at 4:06 pm

“I still cannot believe that Scott Walker was re-elected after all of that sound and fury that many of us supported in real ways.”

Since 2004 ( I really think it started with the 2000 election, but be this as it may), Karl Rove and the voting machine manufacturers Diebol developed a software algorithm that “flips votes” between 10:45 – 11-30 PM EST. The primary states as of today are Ohio, Wisconsin, NC, GA. There may be more.

There are too many naive Dems/Libs/Progs amongst us that refuse to accept the fact that Republicans will do anything to win. If you are really interested, start with this:

    GA TODville.

Just watched our President’s Lacrosse speech — and wow.

A podium slap at the end!

“The last 7 years, heck, the last 7 days, have been good for Americans…”

The small business owner with tears in his eyes…

    Just astounding.

I wish that this were required viewing before voting in the US.

Except for blind bigots, all those who unknowingly have been victims of MSM lies and omissions would have their eyes opened, and would be nodding in agreement. They’d see Americans in “fly-over” Wisconsin who look like themselves, who uncomfortably accept that Minnesota, with a Dem Governor, is doing so much better. They’d see the error of their ways when they cast GOP (I’ve got mine jack) votes.

Yep. PBO could have passed by the tv and saw this. He also has tons of staff to report to him. I am sure someone told him that MSNBC has been covering shark attacks instead of useful coverage of things that matter.

I just watched PBO’s speech and honestly if any of these people running for his job wants to learn how to inspire a Nation they need to go into a room with video of his speeches like this one and study them until they all know to give a stump speech. PBO was in full campaign mode today.

    Nobody does it better!

I am not impressed by those that copy him. They need to be their own authentic selves. Copying is just to get votes. That is the problem.

        July 2, 2015 at 6:01 pm

I wasn’t intending to suggest they copy him I suggested they study his speeches to learn how to inspire people.

You can be taught to be a more inspirational speaker.

As I said earlier this guy is a non-starter. He is apparently in this for the money. I remember PBO taking his entire family to 4th of July events back in 2007/2008. This guy doesn’t even pretend his heart is in it.

Donna, when I saw the announcement about Webb, I was reminded of the tree falling in the forest that nobody hears. This announcement is the biggest ‘so what?’ of the week.

Yes it is and he just wants to be on TV spewing nonsense. Just exactly who does he think wants to support him? I just don’t know who these people get their advice from other than that little ego monster in their heads.

Let’s see Dem’s have HRC (JD + postgraduate studies), Sanders (BA in political science), O’Malley (JD), Webb (JD, No Bar), Chaffee (BA in Classics) and potential cand. Joe Biden (JD) current VP and was very very powerful Senate member.

And it was Malia’s birthday and all of the family was there. I remember that PBO was rather sad about it when he related how they had this sparse celebration in a motel. He determined to make up for her sacrifice though 9 year old Malia told him that everything was fine.

Hey, at least he,insincerely as it may have been, showed some respect for the President, which is a lot better than other GOP Governors have done. Of course, if this picture gets out, it pretty much destroys his chances in the primaries.
