    In case you missed it:

Very important udpdate on Jacqueline O’Boomer’s son. I am posting this (see below) from an email exchange we had within the last hour. Our TOD family is such an important part of our lives, and your prayers for her sweet son, are so very much appreciated. Please also keep our favorite sister, poet and person extraordinaire, Jacqueline, in our thoughts, meditation and prayers. Please dear Lord, shine your light on the entire family.

“May I take you up on your offer to post something on the blog for me? Would you kindly let them know that I asked you to tell them that my son had his surgery today, they found lung cancer and removed the entire right lung, and we are hoping testing of the lymph nodes shows negative (after a 5-7-day wait on the results). And that I thank them for their prayers and good wishes, because this should be the first day of his regaining his strength and good health!”

It’s so sweet that the President signed the trade bills today after all the dire predictions and hopes for failure that we heard from the media and other Democrats. Those who screamed the loudest will never acknowledge that they were wrong even if the actual language of the trade agreement offers everything they could possibly want. They will say it was their coercion and loud voices that produced a positive result because they’ll concede nothing to the President. I’m thoroughly sick of all of them.

    From last Wednesday:

Of course this was before all EU eyes were on Greece, but still holds true — Europe and the rest of the world looks to the US for leadership, and one man (dear to our hearts) to lead the way.

Know it’s late on the east coast, and JO’B is usually here at TOD.

Thanks canadabarb4obama for the update on JO’B and her son. Devastating diagnosis for her son, so sorry to hear this. Sending strongest energy possible to JO’B, her son and entire family — hoping for complete recovery and remission.

O/T Sabreen60 posted a response to my comment on the last thread about the fires at Black churches.

It appears the KKK is carrying on their tradition — this article is from 19 Junes ago, about the burning of 30 black churches in the last 18 months…

“The times, they are a’changin'” Today in the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, the House of Bishops approved a liturgy for same sex weddings to be performed across the nation in Episcopal Churches. It was fortuitous that the Supreme Court decision came down at a time when the General Convention was in session so that this ‘normalization’ of the liturgical life could begin.

I might also add that it is synchronous and a sign of our time that the first African-American Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry of North Carolina, is elected as leader of the Episcopal Church, a denomination in times past not known for its commitment to racial or social justice.
