Nospin, I understand your and Bob’s point, but I think President is more concerned about getting the Iran deal done than to worry about these 47 grandstanding traitors. Don’t get me wrong, I hope and wish that they receive some sort of punishment for their actions. If these last couple of days hasn’t shown us anything it was shown us that President Obama is about something bigger and about something greater.

I hear you Don but the response to the petition should have been provided months ago. 321,324 people signed it (not including the folks who signed the other petitions on this same issue) so would like to get a response.

        • June 29, 2015 at 7:06 pm

Don, I have no doubt President Obama will act when (and if) he considers it appropriate.

At the same time, I don’t think any other petition has received as many respondents and certainly the rate at which that petition reached 100,000 was unprecedented.

Some form of response seems in order and I always #TrustBarack to do what is right, legally and morally.

        • June 29, 2015 at 7:24 pm

I agree with every comment spoken by Don, Bobr, and nospin regarding the #47Traitors. IMO, I think were at the 10 yd line of an Iran Nuclear agreement and it’s 1st and Goal.

The Negotiators got the ball and is moving forward. A timeout has been called in order to execute the ultimate agreement/touch-down play.

Those #47Traitors have been kicked out of the stadium and all they can do is lob their napalm-of-negativity from the curb.

Once the deal is done, then we deal with those azzholes,

      Thank you Alycee!!!

      Crucial ….

“South Carolina House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford, a renowned defense attorney, has agreed to represent Newsome and Tyson as they face criminal charges.”

      Powerful writing …

“For far too long, white supremacy has dominated the politics of America resulting in the creation of racist laws and cultural practices designed to subjugate non-whites. And the emblem of the confederacy, the stars and bars, in all its manifestations, has long been the most recognizable banner of this political ideology. It’s the banner of racial intimidation and fear whose popularity experiences an uptick whenever black Americans appear to be making gains economically and politically in this country.

It’s a reminder how, for centuries, the oppressive status quo has been undergirded by white supremacist violence with the tacit approval of too many political leaders.”

    • June 29, 2015 at 7:23 pm

“We discussed it and decided to remove the flag immediately, both as an act of civil disobedience and as a demonstration of the power people have when we work together. Achieving this would require many roles, including someone who must volunteer to scale the pole and remove the flag. It was decided that this role should go to a black woman and that a white man should be the one to help her over the fence as a sign that our alliance transcended both racial and gender divides. We made this decision because for us, this is not simply about a flag, but rather it is about abolishing the spirit of hatred and oppression in all its forms.”

    GE TODville.

Over the weekend I saw a lot of tweets and comments about the recent “Black church” fires. Some claimed 6 Black churches were involved.

My personal opinion is let social media do its job. Responsible reporters are aware of claims, but research takes time — otherwise all media would look like CNN, which shoots first and aims later.

The SEC was already looking into this guy, it’s only a matter of time. Just last year he was complaining about the taxes he had to pay as a resident of California. The guy made over fifty million last year.

    Huge Breaking NYC News:
For the first time in history the de Blasio appointed rent Guidelines Board has approved a One Year Rent Freeze for rent stabilized 1 year leases.
    2% for 2 year leases.
In contrast to Bloomberg’s 4.5% for 1 year and 7% or so for 2 year leases.
    Elections have consequence.
Cuomo, Bloomberg and Eva Moskowitz (Witch who heads Charter school plunder) are weeping loudly over their drinks, somewhere’s.

The thing about Donald Trump is that he can’t get out of his own way; it is going to be an absolute joy watching him descend into utter madness. And in the end he’s going to be alone and naked and throwing shit on the walls in one of the rooms of his bank owned casinos that are now in receivership. Get your popcorn ready, because this motherfucker isn’t going gently into that good night.

Don, I hope Trump’s descent in The Hades will be slow because his show has just started. I need a good spectacle particularly when the clown car is so full. And, if I had my way, I would include the former Governor Palin and throw Hermann Cain in the mix. I need a good laugh and those fools are sure to give it to us.

        June 29, 2015 at 8:01 pm

Palin as well, I don’t like her because she was just nasty and hateful. You don’t agree with the President, fine, I get that, but to just be mean and nasty and vindictive is a bit too much for me.

          June 29, 2015 at 8:58 pm

“nasty and hateful” have massive unintended consequences which are now just beginning (maybe, possibly) to be understood. McCain and Palin were light years apart with the rhetoric – has to be that wink that got her a VP run.

GM from my world TOD – woke to this piece of news – but our PM says there is no climate change

Tropical low north of Coral Sea could become Queensland’s first July cyclone, forecaster says
A tropical low which has formed north of the Coral Sea could make Queensland history if it turns into a cyclone.
    ..
Weather bureau senior forecaster Michael Knepp said it was unusual because a July cyclone has never been recorded in Queensland.

It’s quite a distance away marilyn & from the news report will not be a threat to the state – but the fact that it is happening in JULY – is just the weirdest climate event – our cyclone period is Summer (as in most places of the world) – for us usually October-February.

I started work in the 1960s and the minimum paid annual leave for full time workers was 3 weeks per year. Most places now have 4 weeks per year (not sure if that is by law orjust some industries).

I just read some right wing nonsense saying the world will come to an end if everyone gets “free vacations”. How they hate their fellow man/woman. Really sad.
