    Good morning, TOD!

      • June 27, 2015 at 7:41 am

Morning, Chips!!! Once again, THANK YOU, the mini BTs, and all of the TOD Family for this oasis!

Seriously, lets get started on planning a 2016 TOD Meet-up in DC. I’m willing to be on planning committee…

My thought/ wish has been that we meet up expressly to line the streets of DC to say good-bye and thanks to POTUS & FLOTUS as they leave. My house in B’more will be available to give folks a place to sleep/eat while they’re here.

          • June 27, 2015 at 10:40 am

Sounds great! We MUST make this happen! BTW, coming to B’more on either the 7th or 9th; taking grandson & God-daughter tp the Blacks in Wax & Lewis Museums; would you & fam care to join us? DM me on twitter @jazziz2

oh jazz my mom will be here visiting from CA.. do not know all of our plans yet. How long will you be in town?

              • June 27, 2015 at 11:04 am

Just for the day. My 83 yr old Mom will be joining us. Could be a fun day. I’m a member of both museums. My dates are flexible 7th, 9th, or 10th; can do it any of those days.

                  June 27, 2015 at 11:16 am

oh jazz this is such a kind offer, but I will have to decline for now… my mom’s time here will be spread between myself, my two sons & families and my nephew and his family- thus I don’t know all the dates & places they’ve all got- so don’t know which days I get to ‘have’ her. I am “possibly” planning a party for her and my 3rd son’s 16th birthday on the 12th- so if that happens, I would love to include you with an invite πŸ™‚

                  • June 27, 2015 at 11:33 am

I understand. I’m trying to squeeze/juggle as both kids visits have been shortened due to competing circumstances — jobs, sports, camp, etc. Unfortunately, not available on the 12th as I’m hosting a jazz concert at my home… B’more is only an hour away; maybe we can do lunch later this summer…

                    • June 27, 2015 at 11:35 am

BTW, should, at the last minute, you find that one of my dates will work for you, let me know…

Oh I would love that- to meet up for lunch. My mom is here from July 1-15.. and yes if we can work in the dates you have for the museum I will definitely let you know. This is my email sjrich49 at yahoo. Thank you Jazz πŸ™‚

I would come from Portland, OR to be with my TOD family. Seriusously, let’s do this. Meanwhile, this daily place of respite and revival lets us savor the age of Obama during his Presidency.

Good morning all. Does anyone else feel transformed by what happened this week? I woke up this morning and felt that the world had changed and I had changed with it. As a nation, we unshackled the prejudices about gay relationships that had mired down the American soul for decades. We got universal health care confirmed. We affirmed fairness in housing. And we were all uplifted in amazing grace by our phenomenal, unique-in-history President that we love and worked to hard to elect twice. Whatever nasty, ugly idiocy follows from the media or the right wing, we will never go back. Led by the greatest president in the last hundred years, this country put its back to it and bent the arc of history toward justice.

By the way, did Ireland send the rainbow to bend over the White House or was that God giving us a high five?

Yes Jackie, yesterday represented a transformation, an awakening, a new dawn. Can you imagine that a child born today will only know universal healthcare and marriage equality. Six years ago we voted for Barack Obama because he spoke of something new, something different, we gave him a chance and he changed America forever.

Yes, Don, and that same child will wonder what on earth was the matter with Americans that it took them so long to reign in the absurd practices of the health insurance industry and to recognize all fellow Americans as human beings entitled to the same rights and dignity. I came of age in an era when all real rights and privileges belonged to the white, straight male. I thank God I’ve lived long enough to see these changes.

You put it beautifully, Jackie and Don. I think anyone with an open heart can feel what you described. Maybe Boehner, etc. who rode on AF1 and were in the sacred place when Rev. President Barack Obama thundered the TRUTH will begin to unstop their ears and hear it.

I know he probably blocked everyone on this blog…but has anyone seen any tweets from “civil liberties” Glen Greenwald and/or his sidekick Snowflake since the SC events?
