I was watching Rachel list all of POTUS accomplishments so far and it just brings such happy, incredible and victorious memories. And it got me thinking, not being sarcastic about this or anything, but I can honestly not think of any accomplishments of the Clinton administration. I mean it is the administration that gave us don’t ask don’t tell. I cannot think of a landmark accomplishment. any one?

The only thing that comes to mind for me was the deficit to a surplus which was no small accomplishment and then I think he did the right thing against a lot of naysayers in intervening and having the US take a leadership military role against the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia.

Luna, a lot of people have a rosy feeling about the Clinton years because jobs were so plentiful then. But that was because of the dot.com boom and had very little to do with Clinton himself.

Good morning Chipsticks and everyone! Hey Chips, is it Friday and do we get to see the “Friday’s good” video? 🙂 I think it might be fitting after such a big day for yesterday.

I was thinking about POTUS yesterday and how he just wins, wins, wins. I’ve only seen that in sports like Michael Jordan comes to mind. I’ve never seen that in politics and in such a meaningful way for the average person. POTUS doesn’t win for himself, he wins for the good of the country. Amazing, amazing. And with all he has going on his daily life you can tell that he is putting Joe B at the top of his list every day – to just be there for him.

LP, thanks for the shout-out last night. I just replied to you on the Chat Away post.

Forus, I think you’re right about the reason why we’re seeing VP Biden with our President so often. PBO is trying to ease our VP’s grief by involving him in things. He also, as you say, wants to “be there for him,” because he’s one of the most compassionate and empathetic human beings ever to occupy the White House.

CNN has conducted a poll in NH showing Bernie Sanders 8 points behind Hillary . They claim he is within the ” margin of error ”

If 8 is withing the margin of error…their poll is severely flawed.

    • 82 jackiegrumbacher
      June 26, 2015 at 8:59 am

Linda, they’re so desperate for a horse race, they’ll make anything up. It’s a l-o-o-ong time to the NH primary and these polls are meaningless, as we all know.

      • 83 arapaho415
        June 26, 2015 at 9:13 am

Polls have proven meaningless in the past two Presidential elections when Gallup predicted McCain/Palin (shudder) and R-money/Ryan victories.

The frigging primaries happen almost a year from now — during the last Presidential election the MSM hyped the GOP polls to the extent that there was a new “leader” every. single. week — Cain, Perry, Santorum ad nauseam, none of whom had a snowball’s chance to win the GOP nomination.

Until next year, MSM will continue to “report” “Breaking News” on speculation, gossip and donor dollars — with the exception of framing whatever President Obama does or says as a “loss,” that’s all they have.

True story. When I took a pic of those cops, they came over and talked to me in french. Of course, as you know, my ff is pretty much there. So, my tunisian friend had to come to my rescue. He told me later that the police don’t like their photos taken. That was during that dictator ben ali period. My friends also showed his palace later. effing huge area.

Shaw-skank had closet sex with killer at least 100 times: ex-inmate
    June 24, 2015 | 2:00am

Prison worker Joyce “Tillie” Mitchell had sex at least 100 times in a sewing-shop storage closet with one of the convicted killers she helped spring, a former inmate told The Post — hours after her clueless husband insisted she never could have bedded the escaped criminals.

Mitchell spent her jailhouse days giggling, chatting and showering gifts on convicted cop-killer David Sweat in the Clinton Correctional Facility workplace she was supposed to be supervising, said the former prisoner, Erik Jensen.

She would routinely end her shift by disappearing into the 8-foot-by-15-foot stockroom with the 35-year-old Sweat for at least a half-hour at a time, said Jensen.

gm TOD – sorry I’m late to arrive – busy busy day

    http://www.scotusblog.com/ for the SCOTUS watchers – noting Q & A

“When deciding exactly what day to issue decisions does SCOTUS consider what else is going on at that time? In other words, since the funerals are in Charleston today, might they wait till Monday to issue the gay marriage ruling since it would take attention from that or is stuff like that not a factor?”

    Amy Howe
“We have gotten this question a couple of times, so I will go ahead and answer: Not a factor.”

Apologies if already posted – heading back to read the thread

Totally off topic, but last night we went to one of those theater performances that are broadcast into movie theaters and saw the glorious Helen Mirren in the play, “Audience,” which has shown in London and New York. She manages to portray Queen Elizabeth II from the age of 27 to the current day in her weekly meetings with prime ministers over the years. It’s touching, funny and heartrending at times. Every performance is brilliant, but Mirren is just amazing. If you ever get a chance to see this, it’s worth every minute of your time.

    “Sorrow, lie still and wear
No tears, no sighings, no despair,
    No mourning weeds,
    Nought that discloses
    A heart that bleeds;
But looks contented I will bear,
And o’er my cheeks strew roses.
Unto the world I may not weep,
But save my sorrow all, and keep
A secret heart, sweet soul, for thee,
As the great earth and swelling sea-”
