This week has been an emotional rollercoaster. This day, this eulogy, was the uplifting call home and a call to the rest of us to move our country toward a fairer, more just society. Did you hear the call? It rang loud , America!!

    …How sweet the sound…

President Obama, our Comforter-in-Chief, our moral compass.
He has raised the bar sooooo high that anyone who follows will not be able to achieve its level.

2004 was the opening salvo in a war for justice. “Not Red States and Blue States, We are the United States.” The initial call to arms that galvanized America and the World.
Today, a further revelation, the full-throated expression of President Obama and the love and faith he brings us.
As was said earlier, today PBO brought us home.

This was overwhelming for me and probably for most viewers.
The media will do its best to trivialize and water down the truths revealed here.
    They will fail.

Vicki, I remember in 2004, cynical critics laughed at Barack Obama’s naivety in thinking we could actually be a united people, a more perfect union. No one is laughing now.

jackie, i listened to The President singing yet again and he emphasizes, in his last words, the UNITED States of America.
That is what i meant by bringing it back to his beginning.
Grace and POTUS have been leading us home.

the media has found their ignore POTUS card for today—-Escapee found and shot. All they can do is short term stupid.

I have been camping in a place with no service, was able to catch some every now and then so I updated TOD, was able to know some of going on, but just got home in time to hear his eulogy. For me my week couldn’t have ended on a higher now. What a wonderful healing week I had and then to see all that has helped to heal this country I couldn’t be higher. We here at TOD knew what this President could do if he was really given the chance. Well in spite of all that has tried to harness him, I believe he has had higher help. Tears of joy, celebration and happiness. Love this President, FLOTUS, VPOTUS, Dr Biden and especially this community of TOD.

    It Is Well…….
    My Dear TOD Family,
I don’t know if you have noticed or even if you really cared. But it has been a while since I have posted here. I barely had the strength to even lurk at times. So I retreated to my annual Women’s Conference at the 31st Annual Women’s Spiritual Retreat & Restoration Conference. Held at the Ebebnezer A.M.E. Church. I anxiously look forward to this event every year where over 3,000 women gather in faith to pray, praise, and worship Our God.
VP Biden’s son death was so painful and beautiful to watch. Painful because of the pain our VP Biden was feeling. Beautiful because of the love, respect and admiration Beau, his father and POB found a connection.
If I had not attended that conference with all of those powerful, loving, god-filled women there I do not know if I could have been able to sleep after what had happened in S.C. I could not sleep because of the audacity and boldness of a demonic spirit to walk into a Bible Study and sit for an HOUR disturbed my spirit so that I could not forgive him. I was angry for the family to forgive him. But Grace……..
When Rev. POB’s relegation that he did not know that he was being used by God blessed my soul.
Thank you Rev. POB for that sermon. I needed to be reminded of that grace.
Rev. POB felt the power of that grace. VP Biden experienced that grace.

And today…..the woman Bishop who was seated in the front on stage was Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie. She serves as the 117th elected and consecrated bishop of the (AME) Church. Her historic election in the year 2000 represents the first time in the over 200 year history of the AME Church, a woman had obtained the level of Episcopal office. You have seen her in the picture of men and women cover POB in prayer. She frequently attends this conference as a facilitator, teacher and delivers the Word.
Whatever your faith is or not, you deserve to hear this woman of God.

There have been a lot of good things to celebrate this week.
    I am celebrating AMAZING GRACE!
Because it humbles me. I am grateful. I can forgive. I can love. I am not God and I shall not judge.
    IT IS WELL……

      Hi LDS,
I am always lurking but wanted to say Bishop Carolyn Tyler Guidry, Ret was the 87th elected Bishop of the AME Church, therefore she is the first elected female Bishop. I am in the 11th Episcopal District, Florida and the Bahama Island and my Bishop is the Reverend Adam Jefferson Richardson, Jr.. Our President gave an excellent message. Amazing as usual!
      Be blessed.

    • June 26, 2015 at 6:08 pm

Thank you guys. I did not meant that in a negative way.
I was just so feeling some kind of way with all the attacks coming toward PBO and my emotions got in the way.
I know now that Rev. PBO is covered. and has a strong, loving woman at his side.
Thank you all for the kind words.
VC, you are so right leaving for Aruba on Thursday.
( I even felt guilty leaving so much. I have never been the one to run away from anything.)
So this perplexed my soul for “a little while”
We are ALL going to be just fine.

“Strom Thurmond fought against civil rights for African-Americans during his lifetime. His son, now 39, said he is proud to speak out against the Confederate battle flag and β€œbe on the right side of history.” He acknowledged that his family has been in South Carolina for many generations. And, he’s been told, his great-grandfather was with Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee when he surrendered in Appomattox, Va.

β€œThink about it for just a second: Our ancestors were literally fighting to continue to keep human beings as slaves and continue the unimaginable acts that occur when someone is held against their will,” he said. β€œI am not proud of this heritage. These practices were inhumane and wrong, wrong, wrong.”

Escaped murderer shot. That is the biggest news on TV.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I am glad these POS will be out of our midst.

But the very fiber of our nation is changing before our eyes with SCOTUS’s earth-shaking decisions and our buckit President showing us a little bit more of who he is. I will NEVER forget today.

I just listened and watched the President’s sermon…..yes, Rev. President Obama. He brought truth and healing today in a way that is divine. This man….is truly a man for the ages. To me, the history began with Abraham Lincoln, and Barack Obama was brought to complete Lincoln’s work. I am overwhelmed.

I loved the singing of “It is Well”…….we sing that a lot in my church, and I noticed that many people knew all FOUR verses, and some knew none…..I LOVE to hear the president sing!
