    We can dream! http://www.balloon-juice.com/2015/06/25/lets-encourage-impotent-wingnut-rage/#more-170746

I am enjoying my schradenfreude and I feel fine as my pleasure is due to millions of people keeping affordable health care as weasel faces the call out to be punched were judiciously judicially punched today. I am also enjoying the wingnut explosion as they see their expectations of complete subservience to the Party dashed.

    From the American Clarion:

I just sent this letter to my federal representatives: Senator John Thune, Senator Mike Rounds, and Rep. Kristi Noem. I called for the immediate impeachment of the six lawless rogues on the U.S. Supreme Court who displayed their complete contempt for the U.S. Constitution and the American people by rewriting ObamaCare.

If you treasure freedom and the U.S. Constitution, you might consider contacting your representatives with similar correspondence.

We really should encourage this, although we must do the encouragement while we observe Cleek’s Law.

Lovely when they turn on their own – one would think the democrats might learn from their stupid and start to support their president 100% – because when they do that – good things happen

  4. June 25, 2015 at 7:09 pm

Paul Krugman (see bottom of previous thread for link) summarized why we should all truly be giddy and that’s because the Obama/Biden team, with OBAMACARE, proved government can work for the ordinary person. A very, very bad day for GOP.

The ‘Southern Strategy’ must be destroyed. Rev Barber’s ‘3rd Reconstruction’ must prevail.

Six years in and President Obama and his team have vastly improved our economy and our standing in the world.

If Americans would now recognize that our gravest threats are fostered by white supremacist kleptocrats and their — impoverished in mind and soul — minions, then we can begin to create a truly exceptional, equitable society.

I was celebrating with all of you over the Supreme Court rulings. Then the phone rang and it was the Gastroentrologist office with my pathology lab results. I knew there was no chance the polyps were benign due to the dr scolding me for letting one of the polyps get so big. She said it was at least ten years old. I thought it was an hemmoroid and had even been diagnosed that way with a prescription for an ointment. So I have been worrying about getting a cancer diagnosis. My good news for the day, it was precancerous instead of cancerous. I need to go back in three years for another colonoscopy. Thank PBO for ACA since my diagnosis from four years ago involved my not being insured for a colonoscopy and I am eligible now.

congratulations….if they were really worried about cancer your follow up would be in a year or 6 months…..went through this with my husband. i wept when I saw King v Burwell was one of the cases this morning. I am overjoyed. I am not yet at the 5 year survival mark for breast cancer so this issue has been very emotional for me. Joy to the world…..I am savoring today….

        • 69 japa21
          June 25, 2015 at 8:38 pm

He was not so much against it, but was strongly in favor of the public option (as were all of us) and was loud in his criticism of that. But he has been on board for the past several years. He really was one of the first major converts from the skeptical side to the supporting side.
In the same way, he was also criticizing the original stimulus as being too small (it was) and saying PBO could have gotten more (he couldn’t).
For all his brilliance, Krugman was a political naif at that point. As it became clearer and clearer that there was no way PBO could get certain things through he actually came out and praised PBO for what he was able to accomplish.

          • 70 Vicki
            June 25, 2015 at 8:50 pm

Well said, japa. I entirely agree. Krugman has been wonderful on Obamacare for a few years.
All of us who talk about politics hold some people to old places, by which i mean we hold on to negative opinions even after it is reasonable to see lots of evidence that a person has evolved.
            For example:
Some ingrates (not on TOD) still resent PBO for not evolving quicker on gay marriage. FFS.

Krugman’s transition to progressive views have changed so much that i have expressed fears for his job at the NY Times. it would be good to give him a break.

          • June 25, 2015 at 8:55 pm

Fair enough Japa, I always rolled my eyes at his complaints about the stimulus not being bigger – he went on and on about Iceland, like that was a comparison – and PBO not trying to go down the public option path. Even Danny would know how nonsensical all of that was in light of GOP opposition to what PBO achieved in the end. It was academic detached-from-reality-itis at its silliest. But yep, he appears to have seen the light on some issues, not least Obamacare.

    • 72 nospin
      June 25, 2015 at 8:07 pm

I admit I am still challenged to look at Krugman with anything but the side eye. I don’t mind folks criticizing POTUS and his policies but at least challenge him based on reality. Krugman was such an over the top, hair on fire, concern troll it is challenging to take anything he says seriously..

      • June 25, 2015 at 8:17 pm

I know what you mean Nospin, I gave up reading him a while ago, he just never acknowledges the opposition PBO faces – even from within his own party – and how difficult it’s been to get anything done. Krugman lives in his ivory tower, PBO has to deal with real life. The only thing I’d give him credit for is his coverage of Obamacare, he’s generally been excellent about it.

        • 74 japa21
          June 25, 2015 at 8:41 pm

See my comment above. Krugman has done a 180 on just about all aspects. He will still talk about the need to do certain things, but he also acknowledges why they can’t be done. He focuses attacks now on the GOP.

          • 75 Vicki
            June 25, 2015 at 8:52 pm

See my comment also, japa. We are one on this issue and i read Paul Krugman’s work every day. Print and web.

          • 76 EricFive
            June 25, 2015 at 9:09 pm

I agree. Krugman is about the most consistent PBO ally in the media and he acknowledges that he was mistaken in some of his early criticism.

My Knicks took Ptzingis, or whatever his name is. I wanted Jahlil Okafor, obviously.
The Lakers could have taken Okafor. I guess they wanted more of a Steph Curry type?
I don ‘t understand much about this strategy.
