    Good evening TOD.

By which i mean–TPA and TAA Passed in the Senate and PBO will sign TPA.
Next TAA will pass in The House and PBO will sign that.

Without invoking African trade Bill which was supposed to pass anyway, WTF did the Dems at war with POTUS gain for themselves?

And now, I am going to savor the juicy feast Nerdy has laid out for us. Thank you to Ms. Wonka in advance of the feast.

I think when you meet President Obama, it shakes you up. It takes over your mind and it’s pretty much all you can think and talk about for days. When Marc Maron says, ” “I cried a little bit after he left……”, I can totally see why he would. He was engaged in a very relevant and intense conversation with President Obama for over an hour and it really touched him. What a great encounter, one that I know I will treasure forever. GREAT moment.

yes he was truly inspired….how lucky we are to be living in the age of President Obama….it is unbelievable 😀

Bless Marc Maron. Some of us (many of us) having not met PBO (yet) know the feeling of him taking over our mind, and in the most awesome, non-invasive way possible!! It is a Vulcan mind-meld, either you get him, or you don’t. No more sympathy for those that don’t, or refuse to, it’s too late for them. PBO is revving up, and we are still on the train!! Yes. We. Are. ❤ 🙂 🙂 🙂 Tickets are all sold out now.

So if Dylann Roof were driven to killing why not go to a white church? What was it he drove over 100 miles to Charleston, no white churches open.

  23. June 24, 2015 at 9:17 pm

Today my pastor (rector, we call them in the Episcopal Church. We call her Mother Anne, instead of Father) sent this to every parishioner in the church. I am glad to see her have this awareness of racial justice and advocacy, and that she recognizes this is a teachable moment for the white parishioners in her flock. (She is Latina in ethnic origin.) This is a far cry from the church and clergy I grew up with.

    A “Post-Racial” America?

    Church members enter Emmanuel church,
    Sunday, June 21, 2015, in Charleston, S.C.

    Dear Friends,

I would like to alert you to an event you might have read about in the Statesman-Journal yesterday. Tomorrow evening, the Salem-Keizer NAACP is offering a forum in response to the shooting at Emmanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Please keep those killed and their families in your prayers, and attend this event if you can. Father Zac and I will be there.

    Grace and Peace,
    Mother Anne+

Why aren’t there more Black people in Oregon?
    A hidden history

Presented by Portland State University black studies professor and writer Walidah Imarisha

June 25, 2015, 6-8:30 pm North Salem High School
    765 14th St NE, Salem, OR 97301

Have you ever wondered why the Black population in Oregon is so small? Oregon has a history not only of Black exclusion and discrimination, but also of a vibrant Black culture that helped sustain many communities throughout the state–a history that is not taught in schools.

Author and educator Walidah Imarisha will lead participants through an interactive timeline of Black history in Oregon that speaks to the history of race, identity and power in this state and the nation. Participants will discuss how history, politics, and culture have shaped-and will continue to shape-the landscape not only for Black Oregonians but all Oregonians.

The link of the woman claiming she was attacked by A-A men led me back to this story, which coincidentally was reported on exactly a year ago today.

    // ……

The 17 year-old sitter told the police that two armed black men had broken into the house and that one of them looked like the family’s African-American neighbor, Cody Oaks. Soon after, police arrested Oaks and questioned him for hours. But it wasn’t until Abby spoke up that they were able to solve the crime. Abby told the police that “It wasn’t the right skin color,” explaining that the invaders had been white, not black.

The sitter’s story eventually fell apart and it was discovered that she had orchestrated the entire thing with her boyfriend and an accomplice committing the crime.

Oaks is justifiably angry over the incident that could have gotten him killed—police snipers were waiting on his front lawn before he was arrested.

Infamous Diana Downs, who attacked her own kids killing and injuring them told the story it was a Black stranger on a remote rural road near Eugene, Oregon either in the late 70s or early 80s.

People who deliberately and falsely blame others should be charged (disturbing the peace, improper use of law enforcement, or something) IMO. Including those who lie when calling 911; in the story with the 4yr old there was a *sniper* waiting to greet the neighbour, for goodness’ sake!

        Good morning, OG.
