Ms Chips! I know I haven’t been contributing lately, but I think of all of you always, and miss you too. Have been heartbroken watching the news. It is just unbelievable. So happy to see so many faces of every color marching together to get that horrible flag removed. Love and hugs to all. XXXX

Some enterprising and smart person might think about spraying some lighter fluid up that flag pole and setting it on fire….have to be prepared to pay the damages to the pole, but it would be worth it to see that hateful flag go up in flames.

Per Maddowblog..this is what Lindsey Graham had to say about the confederate flag flying in SC..

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said today of the Confederate flag, “It works here, that’s what the Statehouse agreed to do.”

To MY MIND, this disqualifies him from any elected office, much less POTUS. He is a relic from decades ago. We’re moving FORWARD, not back!

    • June 20, 2015 at 8:12 pm

Little Lying Lindsey knows his racists people.

He’s repulsive. ” It works here..” Who the hell thinks that!!?? ( nasty ass racists like himself) I’m pretty sure that the majority of the people in SC do not share this feelings on this!

I am waiting to see if some of the NRA-Open-Carry-Confederate Racist do their own march like they did somewhere to intimidate the Moms-For-Sensible-Gun-Laws. I am glad they are doing this and if they remove the confederate flag it will a tremendous gift to ALL the people of SC but I won’t hold my breathe.

      Thanks DF!

“The difference, though, is that the Confederate flag exists as a symbol only because a group of traitors tried to break up the United States because they wanted to keep on owning slaves. That’s it. You can say it means something different to you; you can say it means “Southern pride” or some such bullshit, but you are at best ignorant, at worst a liar, probably both. It speaks volumes about how much power we give fools in this nation that the Confederate flag would still be seen as a valid expression of anything other than hatred for black people. When you’re white in the South, you are often tested by other whites. Do you think the South will rise again? What do you think about the Confederate flag? For most people, it’s just a background thing that they don’t notice until someone says, “Why the fuck is there a rebel flag on your hat?” You see it everywhere – on license plates, on t-shirts, on buildings, on motherfucking official government property, as if somehow, appeasing the fools is a noble goal. No. The noble goal is telling the fools to stop being foolish. Everything that “honors” anyone from the Confederacy, from the flag to the generals, should be wrecked. Antebellum matron Lindsey Graham declared that the Confederate flag is “part of who we are.” In that case, you may as well hang a noose from a flagpole in front of the statehouse in Columbia and call it your heritage. It’d be less dishonest than the rebel flag that’s padlocked in place now. Let’s put this as clearly as possible: If you believe there is some good in the symbol of the Confederate flag, if you think that your nonsensical faith in your history is more important than what it means to the black people, then you are a traitor, like the traitorous bastards you’re descended from. Dylan Roof is another traitor. He is your inheritance, Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy. His actions were because of you. ‘

And for those who can’t wait until Monday for @marcmaron’s WTF interview with PBO, there’s a 3 minute audio clip embedded in this article…

in which PBO discusses #CharlestonMassacre, NRA (he doesn’t think gun safety legislative action will occur with this Congress 😦 ), comedians (PBO loves Pryor, Gregory, Seinfeld and Louis CK [PBO sees his good-heartedness, Maron says that Louis will be over the moon with PBO’s comment]).

American unions making themselves irrelevant and part of the problem instead of part of the solution, just like they did when they refused to adjust to changes in the global auto industry in the 1970’s. Protect WHAT jobs if you choose to take yourself out of the global market?

Outrageous. I wholeheartedly support the concept of unions, but this kind of ignorant boneheadedness is what gives unions a bad name.

This is the moment of grace where there is an opening to unmask the evil of neoconfederate hatred, murder, and racism. And the confederate flag is the symbol of it.

I doubt the hatred and racism will go away but this is the first step towards driving it back to the underground, where it belonged. We have seen the worst effects of mainstreaming these crazy coots by the msm, pox news and other wingnut media with the end result of a major party paying ransom to these thugs.

Never were truer words spoken. The Gabby Giffords shooting should have been the awakener to what she was doing (cause it seemed the rhetoric in the election was for unknown reasons pardoned) – yet she still lives off the grift of inciting hate and dividing the country.

These people were worshipping when their lives ended at the hands of a villain. The white boy did it because he wanted to start a race war. He did it because he is a product of white supremacy and a system that is committed to the denigration of Black and brown people. He did it because to be Black in America is to be a target.

Hell, it’s hard to be Black anywhere, and there are people who say “there’s only one race: the human race.” Well to them, I say “there’s only one seat: the one you should have.” If we were once race, then Black and Brown people EVERYWHERE would not have to continuously fight to LIVE. From the United States to the Dominican Republic to South Africa. If we were one race, people wouldn’t be so scared of Black power that they gun us down in our place of worship.

    • 98 amk for obama
      June 20, 2015 at 10:02 pm

something here in India. You have to go before a judge and state your case for wanting to own a gun. 99.9% of the time, you will be turned down. In miniscule chance of being given a license to own a gun, your ammo is restricted to the clip in your gun.

Aside from banning them outright, I thought Japan’s laws seem sensible. I didn’t realize India even allowed purchasing them in the rare instances they do. Where do you purchase…online?
