These House dems are showing they are just big whiney babies, just like the tea party. Pathetic. No way to govern. They show themselves up as pathetic. Dumb describes them. they need to actually read what this will do, and not take Sanders’ and Warren’s soundbites. But WHY do they want to humiliate their president????? I just don’t get it. I keep hearing that TPP/TPA (whatever) is some “secret deal” or “what’s in it is secret” and the President says it’s out there for them to read it, see it, they just can’t go blabbing to others because it’s still under negotiations all the facts of the deal are not solidified. Since many of these A-holes like Saunders, Warren, etc., are so dead against and are making statements that are not true, and the media surely won’t tell the truth, who are the American people to believe?

Obama says he doesn’t need the green light from lawmakers because of a sweeping 2001 AUMF that gives him legal justification. Lawmakers pushed back on that for months, so in February, Obama sent them a proposal for a new, ISIS-specific AUMF, saying he welcomed their vote on it even if he doesn’t think he needs it.
Congress hasn’t done anything since.

PBO is amazing.
President Obama doesn’t play games. He’s always aligned with his principles, and believes that the “politics” will take care of themselves. He never puts himself in a position where he will be forced to lie about his beliefs, or to obfuscate them with a lot of shallow talk.
Worker aid (TAA) is essential for him so he won’t budge. He will veto a TPA that doesn’t come with TAA. I hope republicans won’t be able to use procedural tricks to force his hand. I’m sure the president doesn’t trust the republicans to do the right thing for american workers. I’m sure he understands that republicans will want to pass the TPA and at the same time give him a political defeat on worker aid.
Another note: the whole hoopla with his fellow democrats is because he “lectured” them a bit. Telling them to vote for TAA on PRINCIPLE, and not play games. Democratic politicians are not used to a leader who values policy and principle much more than “politics”. They resent the president for not caring “enough” about their political difficulties.
They prefer leaders who will trade favors with them but who will bully them if they’re not “loyal” ? Well, so be it.
Let’s say the last few days have illustrated, once more, what a DIFFERENT, EXCEPTIONAL kind of politician Barack Obama is. He ALWAYS HAS BEEN DIFFERENT. Remember his speech against the Iraq War, when this kind of position was not safe politically ? I’ll leave it at that.

Where things get dicey for Dempsey is in Section 5, which lists what constitutes assault and indicates the penalties:
(1) The person committing the referee assault must be suspended as follows:
(a) for a minor or slight touching of the referee or the referee’s uniform or personal property, at least 3 months from the time of the assault
Holy heck, three months? But that’s probably standard enough across the world, it’s a complete no-no to be on the rough side with a ref, amazing carry-on from such an experienced player. Never remember him that way when he played in England, but I’m guessing he’s getting a bit frustrated and cranky in his old age – 32 🙂

I tell them how I read were Laura Bush went on 60 foreign trips in G.W. second term, and my tax dollars paid for those trips, when Laura and her twins flew all over the world. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was with her husband and kids, getting some ice cream. So was Representative Jason Chaffetz. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz was engaged in conversation with Senator Dick Durbin.
There were tables spread around the South Lawn, with red, white, or blue tablecloths. Stations were set up surrounding the perimeter, where attendees could go get something to eat. The foods: Burgers (with or without cheese, and veggie) and handcut fries; nachos; chicken; and ice cream, and cookies…”

I really hate that my email address gets shared among candidates I never subscribed to and also have never heard of. Today I unsubscribed to Bernie Sanders and some woman in North Dakota. I’m tired of being civil, but firm and direct. Therefore, the language I used when unsubscribing, particularly to the Bernie Sanders minions was to say the least unladylike. It felt really good and I’ll continue in this vein as I methodically remove myself from these pathetic Dems mailing lists. However, I’m not angry. Life is good and Barack Obama is still President of the United States.
