I just attended my son’s H.S. Graduation ceremony in a big arena. All the AA families were very vocal when their Grad took the stage. Fog horns, etc. so were the Hispanic families very boisterous. Some of the white folk clapped loudly, screamed and blew a fog horn as well. My RWNJ in-laws were in attendance and I thought their heads were going to blow every time one of the proud families made some noise in celebration. They also commented how many more Hispanics there were in his class compared to my eldest son’s graduation 7 years ago from the same school. What a bunch of wet farts they are. Wish they’d have just stayed home! I, however, made sure to point out how many of those AA and Hispanic students graduated with honors and pointed out most of them had the extra white sash on their gowns indicating “honor students”. Bigots, they are my in-laws. RWNJ bigots! Ugh!

We need to cherish and commit these occurrences to memory. Thank you FLOTUS ❀

Tamir Rice death is FINALLY going to a Grand Jury

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/probe-police-death-boy-12-now-prosecutors-hands-31503291

The investigation into the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old black boy holding a pellet gun by a white Cleveland patrolman was turned over Wednesday to a county prosecutor, who will ask a grand jury to determine if criminal charges should be filed against the officer.

Cuyahoga County Sheriff Clifford Pinckney said his department conducted an “extensive, thorough and unbiased” investigation into the shooting of Tamir Rice outside a recreation center on Nov. 22.

Tamir was shot by rookie patrolman Timothy Loehmann within two seconds of a police cruiser skidding to a stop nearby. He died the next day.

Loehmann and his partner were answering a 911 call about someone waving a gun. Tamir had been playing with an airsoft-type gun that shoots non-lethal plastic projectiles.

I thought about tweeting Rick Santorum that he’s not worth the street dirt on the bottom of the Pope’s papal slippers, but Pope Francis declined to wear the traditional papal shoes – in favor of his usual sturdy black oxfords. (Like any nerd with a chemical technician’s degree would do.)

(After I looked up his degree for myself, I also learned Pope Francis was once a nightclub bouncer, before joining the seminary. Ha. In Vino Veritas, I’d say.)

Just amazing to me, charted in the Jacqueline O’Boomer trials, that one second after CNN moves away from any Presidential campaign announcement – this time, Chafee’s – MSNBC follows suit immediately. The Pack It Is Strong.

Still going on C-SPAN. Lincoln Chafee now taking questions and answering them quite well.
Gov. Chafee Supports PBO’s Trade plans.
But he wants Ed Snowden released from prison.
His detailed and precise objections to not only Iraq War and Bush but a hearty condemnation of all neo-liberal and neo-conservative war mongering.
i doubt this sincere man stands a chance but I am listening.

          That’s what the headliner is?

In fairness, I heard him later on one of the shows talk about the fact that “any Democrat who voted for the Iraq War should not be our nominee as President, since it was the worst-ever decision,” or something like that. Good for him.

THIS!! I was living in Canada in the early 70’s when the metric system was adopted. It was brilliantly done: everything was ready, the public was given ample notification for the changeover. When it launched, that day all the english system went away, overnight, and there was no option but to see everything in metric. Of course, the Canadians, being as adorable and flexible as they are, rolled with it, not one complaint. And, voila, there was the metric system, in place. KaBoom! EasyPeasey. ❀ Canada

This country is too stubborn and too stupid to learn something new or different especially if EUROPE is doing it. We can’t have high speed rail in this country and they want to bring in the metric system. I remember when they were talking about that back in the 70’s and all the RW pundits went bizerk.

PBO conducted an interview with NPR’s program Market Place

  28. June 3, 2015 at 6:43 pm

I missed the ceremony yesterday, but I didn’t realize this new revelation of one of the recipients yesterday:

With Medal of Honor award, family learns WWI hero wasn’t kin http://news.yahoo.com/medal-honor-award-family-learns-wwi-hero-wasnt-044541683.html

“ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) β€” Two days before President Barack Obama announced a posthumous Medal of Honor for black World War I soldier Henry Johnson, a family got staggering news about the legacy of heroism that had inspired them for generations and through three wars. They weren’t related to Johnson by blood after all. A U.S. Army general visited Tara Johnson last month with word that Henry Johnson was not her grandfather, and that her father, World War II Tuskegee airman Herman Johnson, was not the hero’s son. “Dad’s birth certificate didn’t have Henry on it,” she told The Associated Press in an interview this week. The name of the man listed on the document found by Pentagon researchers vetting Johnson’s lineage was one relatives had never heard mentioned as the father. “All we have ever known is Henry Lincoln Johnson,” she said. “My family is going through an identity crisis; this shocked our foundation.”She said they’re at a loss to explain what had been a given for so long. Her father spoke warmly of Henry Johnson, recalling his sense of humor and trips to the park as a boy before the life of the man he knew as his father began to fall apart and the family broke up…continued”

Researching family history is fraught with such discoveries – family folklore often becomes what was wanted rather than what was.

A ruling against the Affordable Care Act could end insurance subsidies for millions of people who live in the 37 states – including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware – that rely on the federal marketplace. The 13 that set up state marketplaces two years ago would not be affected.

Pennsylvania on Tuesday became the only additional state to announce that it had applied to set up an exchange by Monday’s federal deadline.
