A new lawsuit from Hillary Clinton’s legal counsel is taking aim a Gov. Scott Walker and the Republican Party’s efforts to suppress the vote in Wisconsin.
also this
Hillary Clinton’s top campaign attorney has filed a similar lawsuit in Ohio. These lawsuits are proof that the Clinton team is planning on being very proactive and aggressive in the fight against Republican voter suppression tactics.
It is smart for Clinton’s representation to file these lawsuits instead of the campaign itself. The campaign will still have the option of legal action, and the Justice Department will be very active in protecting voting rights.
Jawdropping chart here. If you can post this chart as a stand alone….maybe people will begin to understand the income inequality as it relates to taxes… Holy Moly!
Morning everyone. Can’t believe it’s June already…or as my husband said this morning..”almost time to go back to school!” 🙂 🙂
And this is the crux of the problem: That these uber wealthy have lost any sense of responsibility to the rest of society. Each passing year gets worse and worse…
The income tax system was only minimally regressive overall throughout this decade of IRS data, and at the very top it actually turned around and became regressive. These design flaws have helped to create the extreme wealth inequality that’s motivated Sanders to campaign against “a casino-type capitalism…where the people on top have lost any sense of responsibility for the rest of society,” as the Vermont socialist put it to CNBC in May.
Chips, in addition to the photo of The Hands, my favorite is the President’s look in the 10th image from the top (he’s sitting next to Speaker-for-Life Pelosi). He sure can wake up a room!
Oh, thank you for asking, sweetie. Yes, I’m fine now and ready to kick some RWNJ ass! (Well, okay, that wasn’t such a nice thing to write first thing in the morning, but gotta be me!) Enjoy your day. 🙂
I fully expected BCBS to screw up the application and I won’t go with them during the open enrollment at the end of the year (I loathe Blue Cross Blue Shield). But they got me my card in less than 10 days from my application at medicare.gov. I went with a different company for my Medigap. Now to make some doctor’s appts. The finger I cut in February may need surgery. Or maybe not. But I will get to look at the most gorgeous doctor I’ve ever seen – the hand surgeon. There should be background music playing when he enters a room…….
🙂 Reminds me of the time I had a “rear end” issue….the Dr. walked into the room and I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He was so totally beautiful with a killer smile and beautiful eyes…yet he snapped those latex gloves on and I was totally embarrassed:) Wanted to crawl out of the room…should have been a beast:)
Next to PBO, the most gorgeous black man I’ve ever seen. Dressed impeccably. My only fear is that he won’t stay in Chicago. He’s from Chicago, but he worked in Florida where he met his wife. Her first winter in Chicago was two years ago – one of our worst. I wonder if she’s going to be able to adjust.
When I had viral pneumonia last Fall, my pulmonologist was so handsome, so kind and caring, I could hardly speak. He took about 45 minutes with me, going over my history, blood work and x-rays, chatting about this and that…….I confess I got quite a lot better after that visit, I must say.
This guy had the personality and bedside manner to match his good looks. Makes it all the more pleasant. I’d had a weird growth on my hand for over five years and never had it looked at until ACA (thanks, Obama!). He didn’t quite know what it was, it was superficial, said we could re-check it in 6 months. After 5 years, it then went away on its own. So he’s a miracle worker, too! I hope he can help me with the nerve damage in my finger.
None of these evil Republicans understand how the stress of not having health care can weigh on you and how much the stress can affect your recovery. Bastards.
Dang! I was fiddling around on the previous post by myself for almost ONE HOUR? Okay, I’m signing off to go dip my head in some cold water – that m sharpen my wits. 😦 😦
For those w/o “patrician tastes” – “I am particularly grateful to the police & medical teams remarkable # Geneva and # Scionzier – true professionals.”
You know what I find hilarious about the incident as reported by some newstainers? Initially they said that the Secretary was injured in France and then flown to Switzerland – he of course had his biking incident in the “French” Canton (state) of Switzerland, which borders France. Americans are not known for their Geography skills. Mr. Kerry is fluent in French and attended an exclusive boarding school in the tiny village of Zug, Switzerland which is about 40 minutes south of Zurich. The school sits on top of a hill near the lake and I used to pass it every day when I lived in Zug, Switzerland – I think it use to be a monastery.
Sidebar: Zug is home of Marc Reich whom President Clinton pardon when he was giving away pardons during last hours of his presidency. Reich fled US and relocated to Zug,Switzerland after he was convicted for money laundering in the 1990’s.
PERFECT…BEAUTIFUL…AND THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WORDS…..THE FACT THAT A BLACK AND JEWISH SOLDIER WERE OVERLOOKED IS HEARTWRENCHING…LEAVE IT TO MY ENERIZER PRESIDENT TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T STAY THAT WAY!…I LOVE MY PRESIDENT…MAY GOD DEEPLY BLESS YOU PBO FOR YOUR SACRED COMMITTMENT TO ALL OF THOSE WHO SERVE!..XOXOXOXOXOXO EVERYONE!…<3
I SEE WHERE PBO IS GOING TO DELIVER BEAU’S EULOGY…THEY COULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN BETTER………….COMFORTER-IN-CHIEF…HE CARRIES SO MANY BURDENS AND HE DOES IT WELL!
Hello TOD
It’s a Fine day today…..Sunny, breezy and perfect…….until about 2:00PM CT….. 😦
Congrats to all the Gold ⭐ winners, starting with this post and 3 posts back.
R&S is beautifully done, Chips. Thanks.
POTUS will be honoring Major Beau Biden with a Eulogy this coming Saturday. RIP Beau Biden.
President Obama to deliver eulogy for Beau Biden on Saturday AM at a funeral mass in Wilmington, per @VP 's office
I am sorry TOD. I refuse to give up on this story. Why? GOPers and the US Media love to ignore facts……Since 2006, it was a public record that then Speaker was living with his male Homosexual staff. My objection is never on who one loves. It is always on Hypocrisy.
I am so sick and tired of the Story the press did with John Edwards…..who did a bad thing…….who lost already by March 2008. Yet in 2009, the press was dealing with this story as if John Edwards had a chance.
Hastert was 2nd/3rd depending on how counts, to the ascendency of the Presidency. That is a BFD.
I agree with your assessment of the media, but I don’t think Hastert will be off the hook.
While we’re talking about hypocrisy, I do have to say, I don’t agree at all with Democrats’ efforts to make Bill Clinton out to be some sort of innocent bystander, no matter the comparison. I’m no prude, but I’m disgusted that he chose to have an affair inside the White House and then lie to everyone about on camera and then under oath, all an abuse of power. Yes I know there were both consenting adults and HRC is cool with it, but he tarnished the office of the presidency and he refused to take responsibility for it. In my book, he is thoroughly skeevy. I don’t think we have to spend more than a couple of seconds to know what what would happen to any other Dem POTUS if that happened on their watch.
I was and always will Never be a supporter of Bill Clinton’s conduct and ghastly behavior with Monika Lewinsky.
I want the Press to treat all Pols regardless of Party Fairly and Equitably.
Anyone who knows how US DOJ works knew that more shoes were destined to fall within FIFA. I hope they get to corrupt network from other countries – like my country of birth
NPR had some guy on that they expected Blatter to be re-elected and that the indictments were just a political ploy by America. That most of the past under represented countries like South Africa, Phillipines, etc., loved Blatter for bring them into FIFA when past Presidents would only recognize the European countries. I guess we know now it was about getting paid…..
Ai yai yai ~ I am remiss: please forgive me. Full Moon 11.49 Sagittarius, was actually an hour ago: 12:19p EDT 6/2/2015. 9:19a PDT. So, how is it I am so darned busy that I forgot to tell you, even though I was completely aware?? Also, happy 63rd to my little brother Joe. I love him dearly!
The Songs Over Joy and Happy are both competing feverishly in my head and my body is having a harder time, especially my legs sticking to one tune.
I am elated on this Resignation.
Joseph Sepp Blatter is FIFA-less 🙂
David Brooks’ arse must be on fire now…….Here comes the Obama Administration making it possible for a Cleaner…..knock on wood….FIFA. Thanks AG Lynch. Thanks Obama!
Go out about your business and leave TOD at your peril!!!
OMG—Loretta Lynch bagged Blatter. Way to go, Madame US Attorney General! New Yorkers are not surprised. We knew who Loretta Lynch is.
Also, in lesser news, but good, is that according to The Count this is PBO’s 19th Medal of Honor ceremony with 45 medals bestowed. This is Legacy building stuff because all military families are paying attention to the respect POTUS and FLOTUS have for them. Not empty screeches of “Support the Troops” but actually doing so to all our Troops, past and present.
Good morning TOD folks!
Morning vetivera, moooooooorning everyone!
Morning Chips. Smiley day. Love those photos
Looking forward to the service this morning.
Good morning almab & Congrats on First! 🙂
Thanks GGail! Morning to you too!
🙂
Danny-ambling time, see ya in a bit.
Morning.

Very good moves.
It will be in her interest that everyone is able to vote – quite self-serving Hillary.
What I like about Hillary’s campaign, so far:
1. This story.
I like it too. It’s about more walk less talk.
Good way to put it – and I agree!
It looks like Tuesday……G’day you lot.

That’s hysterical! Looks like a city version of a prairie dog, poppin’ its head up on a Tuesday morning! Have a good day.
Thank you. I’ll try. 🙂
Good morning Yardarm & Buster 😀
MAMACITA….QUE PASA?
Not much, I’m at work. 🙂
Poor baby…..Don’t go off on anybody, eh.
Then I’m going to be very irritable today

Oh, thank you for asking, sweetie. Yes, I’m fine now and ready to kick some RWNJ ass! (Well, okay, that wasn’t such a nice thing to write first thing in the morning, but gotta be me!) Enjoy your day. 🙂
If you’re ready to kick some RWNJ ass, then I know you are feeling better 🙂
I got my Medicare Part D card in the mail yesterday. I am now fully covered by Medicare and my Medigap policy. I am so happy……..
YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!! Congrats 57 🙂

Uh Oh, I see “senior scandal” headlines coming to a supermarket tabloid real soon 😀 😀
NO!!!!!!
😀 😀 😀
Methinks he could outrun my rotund body and arthritic hips!
Nothing like a handsome doctor to cure what ails ya!!
Next to PBO, the most gorgeous black man I’ve ever seen. Dressed impeccably. My only fear is that he won’t stay in Chicago. He’s from Chicago, but he worked in Florida where he met his wife. None of these evil Republicans understand how the stress of not having health care can weigh on you and how much the stress can affect your recovery. Bastards.
Ain’t that the truth:)
Welcome to the club!
Quite an achievement, isn’t it, Bill?
Dang! I was fiddling around on the previous post by myself for almost ONE HOUR? Okay, I’m signing off to go dip my head in some cold water – that m sharpen my wits. 😦 😦

The RWNJs at Politico are upset that Sec Kerry speaks French and displays “patrician tastes.” BWwwahahaaaaaaa!!
Shocking. Not. Some people are so small-minded!
For those w/o “patrician tastes” – “I am particularly grateful to the police & medical teams remarkable # Geneva and # Scionzier – true professionals.”

Just a bit of triva.
Verrrryyy interesting!
I admire Sec Kerry immensely, partly because he is a cultured man. Too bad the lowbrow RW can’t appreciate a good education and informed world view.
Easy to understand why they are permanently at war with any non english speaking country
HERE….DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!
President Obama is one of the finest gentlemen in our midst.
Just thought I’d mention that.
Thanks J’OB. It can never be mentioned too often
No better man ever in the White House.
Some veterans of Pvt. Johnson’s regiment are in attendance. Sob.
Not sure I heard that right with the years involved!
Oh that was so touching, especially to see the members of his regiment stand and applaud.
Congratulations, Pvt. Henry Johnson, from a grateful nation. Well done.
And congratulations, Sgt. William Shemin, from a grateful nation. Well done. Good-lookin’ daughters, sir!
They were indeed gorgeous as POTUS remarked!! How touched they were at this honor and remembrance.
So true. As was the President – I think he choked up a bit when he was leaning over to kiss them.
Beautiful heartfelt service.

He’s more like a “Runt” Paul….
Whoooo Hoooooo, I knew she would not give up till the whole top crumbled!
Bu-bye bye Sepp!!!
The moral of the story, GGail: If Loretta comes after ya, be AFRAID!
Damn skippy!
Please…..Chips……Please…… 😯
You have uplifted my outlook this afternoon.
It looks like the $10M hidden transfer $$$$ did him In 🙂 🙄 🙂
Exactly Nena – and I’d guess they have lots more on him too! Stupendous news!
SAY WHAT???????? OFF TO BBCNEWS!
It’s incredible!! Looks like that South African/$10m story did him in – and, I’d guess, a quiet ‘please **** off’ message from Fifa sponsors 🙂
Shorter Sepp Blatter: Okay, Loretta, I’ve left. Please stop investigating…
🙂 He never had much respect for wimmin – methinks he might have now.
