    This just hit me hard.

The family has gone through so much

The Biden family’s strength awes and humbles me.

May Beau Biden rest in peace and may the good lord comfort them.

      Yes, absolutely heartbreaking.

Only Hunter to carry on Neilia Hunter Biden’s legacy. 😦

Both tweets posted on the previous thread, but more appropriate on this tribute to Beau Biden, may he rest in peace and may his family endure and recover from this devastating loss.

My heart aches tonight for VP Joe Biden and his family. I am especially thinking of Beau’s widow and children who have lost a husband and a father. I’ve followed VP Joe Biden ever since he was elected as the youngest man to serve in the U.S. Senate. In my book, he is is one of the most, courageous, compassionate and authentic human beings. I still vividly remember that photo of the 4 year-old, Beau Biden, as his father was sworn in as the U.S. Senator from the hospital after another devastating loss of family members. From all the testimonials, Beau, like his father Joe, was an incredible human being. May he RIP! May the Biden family find strength to cope with the loss of their beloved Beau.

This is for Susanne in Hawaii, if she’s lurking now.

From the 2012 article after the passing of Daniel Inouye of Hawaii:
“’Stay six months, Joe,’ remember Danny? ‘Just stay six months,’” Biden recalled in his 2009 farewell speech to the Senate, acknowledging Inouye as one of the few senators who remained from that time.

Inouye and Biden would strike up a tight bond during their service together in the Senate. So much so that when Biden launched his campaign for the presidency in 1987, it was Inouye whom he asked to introduce him.”

    A Poem to Beau

If tears could build a stairway
    and thoughts a memory lane
VP Joe would walk right up to heaven
    and bring you home again
You were gone before they knew it
    And only God knows why.
You were the best of all of them
And the twinkle in your families eye

With heart’s still active in sadness
    And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
    No one can ever know.
And now they know you’d want them
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has so much in store.

    Since you’ll never be forgotten
    Your family pledges today
A hallowed place within their hearts
    Is where you’ll always stay.

It’s 2:28am where I am and I just sat down at the computer. The first thing I read is the passing of Beau Biden. I don’t think I’ll get much sleep tonight. I really could see Beau doing great things. My sincere condolences to VP Biden, Dr. Biden and the entire Biden family; to President Obama, Ms. Obama and everyone who held Beau and the Biden family in their heart.

    Nooooooooo!

one of the very few days I slept early,

    waking up, I did what I always do – checked TOD;

this loss of Beau is simply devastating!

Beau was someone I knew off from a far, through his work and that of his parents. But most importantly, through the dignity, kindness, faithfulness and dedication they showed to PBO, the First Family and to this nation.

I been crying for the last two hours for the huge loss of Beau, crying for his dear wife and his young children, and aching for VP Joe.

No wonder the last photo of VP Joe we saw was so pensive – a number of us commented on his demeanor then. We hoped against hope that his son would improve but fate chose otherwise.

I am at a loss about what to do because I can only imagine the sorrow and pain VP Joe and his entire family must be feeling.

    life is so unfair!

I had no idea about this, until this morning reading the news article. I knew Beau was in the hospital.. but did not know how ill he was. I have been so self involved with my own home/ family stuff, that I just had no idea. I am so sorry for our VP and family, this is horrible and sad and heartbreaking. What a terrible loss.

LL, thank you for putting together this beautiful tribute so quickly. It is exactly what all of us needed to share our grief. My heart especially aches for Beau’s young children whose lives will be irrevocably changed as of today. There was obviously so much love in that family. Having lost a father at a young age, I know there’s a space in your heart that never gets filled.
