Anheuser-Busch Producing Canned Water for Flood Victims
    http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/05/29/us/ap-ga-brewery-cans-water.html?_r=0
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — An Anheuser Busch plant in northwest Georgia has started canning water instead of beer to help flood victims in Texas and Oklahoma.

Multiple media outlets report the Cartersville plant halted its beer production to produce 50,000 cans of water to distribute to the flooded areas by this weekend.

Cartersville brewery manager Rob Haas told NBC News the brewery has participated in similar initiatives in the past, including during the Northeast’s recovery from Superstorm Sandy.

The brewery even has a special white can that it uses for the water.

I remember many years ago, maybe even 12 or more years, my daughter who was quite young at the time, suggesting all water should be manufactured into cans rather than stupid plastic bottles, and she was mystified why no one was doing this. I’ll tell ya’, the kids are the future, if only we could learn to listen to them!

    Knowledge…

Modern humans migrated out of Africa from Egypt unlike previously believed

It turns out that modern human populations took the route out of Africa from Egypt, finds a new study.
New genomic analyses of people currently living in Ethiopia and Egypt indicate that migration followed a northern rather than a southern route.
To uncover the migratory path that the ancestors of present-day Europeans and Asians (Eurasians) took when moving out of Africa around 60,000 years ago, Dr. Luca Pagani, of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and the University of Cambridge, UK, and his colleagues analysed the genetic information from six modern Northeast African populations (100 Egyptians and five Ethiopian populations each represented by 25 people).
Pagani explained that two geographically plausible routes have been proposed: an exit through the current Egypt and Sinai, which is the northern route, or one through Ethiopia, the Bab el Mandeb strait, and the Arabian Peninsula, which is the southern route. In their research, they generated the first comprehensive set of unbiased genomic data from Northeast Africans and observed, after controlling for recent migrations, a higher genetic similarity between Egyptians and Eurasians than between Ethiopians and Eurasians.
This suggests that Egypt was most likely the last stop on the way out of Africa.

Good job FIFA, I hope Blatter rob you motherfuckers blind. I shouldn’t complain, Bush was elected twice, or was it once and he stole the other election, I don’t know whatever. Point being is that if you elect a crook, crooked things will happen.

Did I miss this celebration yesterday??

The legendary Gladys Knight turned 71 (May 28).

Coming out of Atlanta, Ga., Knight achieved acclaim when she became the lead singer of Gladys Knight & the Pips, an act that included members of the Knight family. The group had multiple hits with Motown in the late ’60s, including “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye).”
Gladys Knight & the Pips truly blew up when they joined Buddha Records in 1973. They brought their pop acumen and Knight’s soaring vocal talents to the label. That same year, the group released ”Midnight Train to Georgia.” Although the hits kept coming, that would be the group’s lone No. 1 song.
The family group disbanded in 1988, but of course, Knight was great enough of a singer to carry on by herself. She had 11 solo albums, and Good Woman, her 1991 effort, was the only one to go gold with the help of the R&B hit “Men.” ”That’s What Friends Are For,” a collaboration with Dionne Warwick, Elton John and Stevie Wonder, is the only No. 1 single she has as a solo artist.
These days, Knight sits as one of the greatest singers of all time. She puts out music every now and then, and pops up for a public appearance every so often. Three years ago, Knight competed on Dancing With the Stars, where she lost on Week 6. Ironically, that night was Motown night.

TGIF! Love the west wing week. Our president just continues to shine, so happy for the lady that got to meet and greet with him and Joe B.

Also, did you know according to Bernie and Emotarians everywhere our exploding wealth gap is due to TPP and other trade deals like that? hah, of course nothing to do with wall street running a smash and grab, or the systematic disembling of unions, etc etc, the stupid never ends.

msnbc is reporting that the Hastert payoff was due to ” sexual misconduct “…..Gawd… I hope this does not turn into another Sandusky type incident……

Since it is a One Off payola of $3.5M……I am leaning towards an under aged girl with a child. If it turns out to be a Pedophilia type of abuse, then, like Sandusky, the list will soon get longer and the explosion will numerate quickly. Those engaged in such despicable acts never stop with just One Singular Act.

I’m not so sure that hiring a Latino outreach person will do anything much for HRC and MO’M at this point.
When the field of Democratic candidates is set—by which I mean that nobody else will be joining the fray—at that point, maybe this or that person hired is significant.
        Now, meh.

Just something to say to fill the void. 24 hour cycle is always needing something to report on.

And since positive news that relates in any way whatsoever to POTUS is out-of-bounds, the pickings are slim.

HRC comes out strongly in favor of rear seatbelts. MO’M declares that redleaf lettuce is his choice. UGH whatever.

        • May 29, 2015 at 3:59 pm

i think these announcements are meant for US…the Obama Coalition…but HRC and MO’M will come to understand…that we are much smarter than this…

          for instance:

I didn’t mean to be dismissive of your reporting, Meta.
I am interested in all these items. Sorry if I offended with my snide remarks.

Also, Very Interesting is that as of today The Obama List remains in PBO’s hands.
Plus there has been no Presidential endorsement.
Plus Mayor de Blasio (currently on my not-so-good list due to his “stand with Elizabeth” remark) still has offered no endorsement.
Plus, the hire that is super important, John Del Cecato, remains undone. Mr. Del Cecato is traveling with Bill de Blasio these days.

I’m starting to think that President Obama told AG Lynch to go get all their asses. The Republicans wanted Eric Holder out as AG so bad, he’s out, and look what they got. Be careful what you ask for.

I didn’t catch the guy’s name, but they were talking about the NSA, Snowden, and stuff like that. As I said I have no idea who he is, I’ve seen the poster. I just never knew who made it.
