              Noooooo!

My son and daughter in law stayed with us for a couple of months while their house was being built and moved out about 3 weeks ago. I told them to get the grand girls settled in the new house and come get their cat the next weekend. Did I mention that they moved out 3 weeks ago ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Needless to say “Gizzy the Cat” is laying across my laptop while I try to type this. She thinks she lives here and I keep telling her this is only temporary. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

    Good Morning Chips and TOD

I’ve been on vacation with the girl cousins and completely out of touch. We arrived in Atlantic City on Sunday and the cousins were teasing me that I would be away from my “Obama” and would I survive then low and behold we turn on the news and PBO is in Jersey on Monday. I told them he couldn’t stand to be away from me for long. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have so much to catch up on. @POTUS breaks a world record on Twitter; FLOTUS kicks butt with her workout and Dave Letterman signs off.

Now what’s this about GGail being out of work and Bill R having surgery?

I know I missed PrettyFoots Birthday so Happy Belated Birthday and Happy Birthday to anyone else that I missed.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

It might be that she just took some time off. JoJo was wishing her well and a non-stressful return to work on the previous thread so I am not sure.

GM Donna and welcome back ๐Ÿ™‚

My dear friend JoJo is excited that after me having surgery on Monday the 18th, I’ve returned to work. She should have told the whole story, but I guess she left that for me to reveal. Truthfully, only Jojo and VC knew that I was going in for surgery and they took good care of me, telling what to do and what NOT to do ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m on the road to recovery and had to come back to work, my boss was driving me crazy with texts and emails. Couldn’t fully enjoy my drugs so I came to work ๐Ÿ˜€

I have a follow up appointment next Thursday with my surgeon for results. Let’s keep those positive thoughts coming folks and thank you all for your virtual love and support โค

            May 21, 2015 at 11:58 am

I kept it close because it was first just suppose to be a biopsy, but then turned into full surgical removal of the lump. Jojo was my designated driver and I think she’s still laughing at me for how I behaved afterwards. You see, we stopped at Marie Callendar’s to eat and it wasn’t until the next day or two that I realized how much food I had ordered to eat there and for take-out. She was too sweet to stop me, so we had a grand laugh about it. I still have two salads in my refrigerator and half of a banana cream pie! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

What is your take on Elizabeth Warren and Company….and their venom towards the President

      • 40 donna dem 4 obama
        May 21, 2015 at 12:11 pm

Hey PF I thought of you, JG and Alycee as I was driving up the NJ turnpike and saw the signs for PA. I hope you had a great BD.

Look I have been rather silent about this whole TPP thing because I come from a family of workers who belong to unions. Needless to say they have concerns about any trade bill and have expressed those concerns with me. I believe there are people who have been hurt in the past by these trade bills and just find it hard to trust that this one will not hurt them as well.

I think that a small amount of this is driving EW and most of it is just posturing to her extreme left base. We as loyalist to the President find it hard to believe that people have not learned the lessons of the past that PBO can be trusted to have the country and its workers best interest in all things. The fundraising and the fact that she and those concerned with the bill don’t go to the WH and iron out whatever issues they have directly with the President instead of grandstanding before the cameras tell me she is in it for the attention.

I don’t have a problem with people disagreeing with the President on an important issue but I take exception to the disregard of his leadership and proven record of doing the right thing. She and all her minions in the Senate and Congress should know better but the bottom line is that most of them will be there after he is gone from the WH so most of this is about keeping their job rather than doing their job.

        • May 21, 2015 at 12:23 pm

my issue with Sen Warren…was her lying about the TPA and casting the TPP as a secret deal…. re: the TPA…first is that all Presidents have been give “fast track” authority…it has become an issue when it is President Obama who needs this authority…..and re: the TPP…there will be plenty of time for Congress and the public to see the final agreement and Congress can vote up/down or file a resolution.

I so agree with your pointed assessment of EW** et al – in particular… ‘most of this is about keeping their job rather than doing their job’.

One of my favorite Letterman shows was back in 2008 when John McCain stood him up and Dave had Keith Olbermann on as a last-minute substitute. It was done as comedy, but I think Dave was really PO’d at McCain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdP4UBUEWCc

Was I in a coma over the past 20 years….when did the U.S. decides to go to war based on ONE senator’s say so? There were quite a few republican senators that agreed to go to war too….and WHO was president that ASKED to give him permission to go to war? Jeb Bush, the Media, and the GOP must think we are crazy and stupid.

      • May 21, 2015 at 12:26 pm

Is it definite Donna? I’ve been a bit out of the loop the last week or so, so not sure what I missed. Was always a big fan of him, but he’s disappointed me lately, so not sure how I feel either.

        • 97 donna dem 4 obama
          May 21, 2015 at 12:30 pm

Yes it’s a definite. He opened up a campaign office in Baltimore this week. Apparently once you start campaign activities (like leasing the office space) you have to officially declare within 15 days. It’s gonna happen for sure now.

            Donna,
I admit I was going to be a big supporter until he started some mixed messaging about POTUS accomplishments and I read the David Simon article. Even if Simon had a very biased analysis it still is bothersome to me at some level. However, if I were in Maryland I would probably go to the announcement to hear it firsthand and get a better sense of it in tone, etc. to help clear the picture.

        • May 21, 2015 at 12:39 pm

Yes, his stance on TPP is just ridiculous. On the other hand, we don’t really know HRC’s position on a lot of things.
I’m still hoping that there will be some competition, even if it’s MO’M.
But I have to say, the press is all gung ho for every one who jumps into the RW Clown Car but they seem to be completely dismissive of anyone else entering the Dem race. Hmmmmm, wonder why?

    • May 21, 2015 at 12:40 pm

Griffin also wrote me once or twice – first to say Ed said he didn’t do it, then to say “oops.” I’ve hardly looked at Ed on the teevee since, w/o being reminded of the dog that lies beneath. Pretty sure Griffin dropped all avenues for the public at large to directly engage him after that, as well, which obviously says a lot about him. I think there’s a new guy in town at the network who may not be too happy with Griffin’s choices, so I’m waiting and hoping.

I couldn’t read the entire article without signing in/subscribing which I chose not to do, but the intro made me shake my head.

“The HC campaign staged an event for the New Hampshire media last week that struck us as the antithesis of what the New Hampshire primary is about.”

Reading the bit they allowed reminded me of an observation often made here – that it’s one thing to copy PBO’s ideas and try to co-opt his coalition, but no one else is PBO. There was/is more to his success than a series of ‘activities’. ๐Ÿ™„ These political guys, and gals, and their campaign staff sure lack insight – they know how to talk but not how to think, IMO.

      • May 21, 2015 at 1:05 pm

Yes, that’s the truth of it. It seems like they’re following a template.

O dear, Meta, that editorial pulled no punches! I almost felt a bit of pity for HRC and her gang, but really, they ought to know their audience, and all that was said made sense to me. I read it as, ‘Don’t waste our time with fluff; we are professionals, give us substance’, and I see nothing to criticize in their stance.

          • May 21, 2015 at 1:36 pm

Yes, it was like a breath of fresh air because they aren’t playing the same game.

O yeah! Thanks for sharing the link with the article, Meta. Hopefully HRC and her campaign will see the truth, and value, in the criticism and get their act together and raise their dialogue to a fairly adult level. Also, too, I’m dreaming of a few more editorials like this one, to *all* campaigns that merit it. Maybe then we will lift the level of campaigning.
