I have never seen Mad Man/Men. I have seen Dave Letterman.
But I get so tired of the hype by the Media on some of these shows as they come to an end.
Mad Man/Men could ONLY generate 3M plus viewers for it’s final episode…..with all the Media coverage. David Letterman managed 7M plus. The News Media is nothing but an infortainment outlet….ignoring Real News for their made up feel important schemes.

The percentage of our lives, determined by our birth date, that our country has been at war.

This is just sad. Any child born in 2001 has been born into WAR ….they are now 14.

I don’t like his added “not as we might wish it to be.” But, yeah, this is a long time coming, and a good thing.

      • May 21, 2015 at 2:14 pm

He was on Charlie Rose the other night being negative toward the Iran Deal. Says PBO will not likely strike a good deal with Iran because he wants it too badly. UGH.

Gates was up to his eyeballs in the Iran-Contra scandal.

He also totally missed the fall of the Soviet Union while Director of the CIA.

This man ignores his own failings while criticizing others.

    Don’t laugh.

Okay, so, yeah. I was just sitting in the sunshine on my uncovered front porch, when a mad small bird flew onto my porch straight at me and ATTACKED MY HEAD. Kind of thought it was CAUGHT IN MY HAIR for a few seconds there, but it flew away AND DID NOT LEAVE ANY DROPPINGS.

I swear to God this bird was acting a bit crazy earlier this morning, same porch, same me on it, but only flew across the street then, cackling like a nutcase.

My question: Was I too close to a nest, or is this the final proof that climate change is real?

    (Go ahead, laugh.)

Josh was asked about the Racist, Threatening and Ugly tweets directed to @POTUS. Josh’s answer was Perfect.
He said they are aware of the threats…..just like they get same type of ugly tweets directed at the WH Twitter accounts, various WH Aides, etc. But it was worth it for @POTUS is a great format to communicate with Americans. The issue of blocking those who engage in ugly tweets isn’t something they will do for it would take all their time and energy……more like blocking the Internet. Then Josh added that the Secret Service are the sole arbiter to how threats directed to the WH are handled.

Rick Tyler, Ted Cruz’s communications adviser and former Gingrich spokesman admitted on Chris Hayes show last night that over 60 % of the undocumented/illegals in this country are people that have overstayed their VISA’s, not hispanics coming over the southern border.

At the same time, he said the border must be secured first, before moving forward on immigration reform which has to be done piece meal so Americans can get used to each part before anything can be passed. That comprehensive immigration reform will never get passed. It would be to overwhelming for Americans to be comfortable with.

That would be brilliant – not just for the diplomacy. If right-wingers lost their heads over a handshake – imagine the meltdowns as Air Force One touches down in Cuba. 60 years of nonsense.

I think the Vatican also said Pope Francis might stop in Cuba for a visit around the time he visits the U.S. later in the year (and, I believe, he may also be visiting the White House, if I’m recalling any of it correctly). Maybe the Pope and the President can share a ride to and from Havana.

McDonald’s can pay people in other country’s more (plus sick time, vacation, and medical) than what they pay in USA they can do it here. I don’t understand states who allow these workers to get services because these companies are too cheap. They should charge a “poverty fee” to cover the states costs.

“Early Wednesday, a group of French-speaking eighth-graders used toothbrushes to clean moss off old tombstones of African-American military veterans.

Not something you see every day in Kansas City.

But there they were, 25 or so students from Academie Lafayette working to get Highland Cemetery, a segregated black cemetery from Kansas City’s early days, ready for Memorial Day. They planted flags on graves long forgotten in a cemetery long neglected…”

Today I did something I’ve never done in my life–I walked out of a meeting I was chairing. I was tired and still not fully well and a bunch of blowhards started corking off about TPP and the how the President was over influenced by Wall Street and I hit my limit. Told them it was no wonder Democrats kept losing elections since they don’t know how to support their own President. I felt great, but I unfortunately left my husband holding the bag trying to explain to the idiots why I couldn’t take them another minute. He told me they all said they were sorry and then continued
to bash the President. Sometimes you just have to say “enough.” I’m tired of hearing stupid people pontificate on issues they don’t understand and offer “advice” to a President who’s the best thing that ever happened to this country. Then they sit around wondering why Dem turnout is so low.

I’m sorry you had that experience, but I’m so very proud to “know” you, as well. Brava!

    • May 21, 2015 at 4:09 pm

Oh, {{{{Jackie}}}}, as the saying goes, I love the bones of ya! I’d guess you have 100 times more patience than most mere mortals, so if you were compelled to walk out of that damn place, it must have been truly soul-destroying. I am smiling, though, at Mr Jackie trying to calm the mob 🙂

      ^ 5, JackieG! There comes a time….

Maybe, just maybe, one or two sets of eyes have been opened to look more carefully (particularly because of your known reputation and history of service). Anyways, *you* exercised your personal power to walk away from stupidity before it squelched your last nerve!
