Nerdy, this collection of tweets is compelling and the series on poverty is gut wrenching. Thanks for once again for being our truth provider. You truly are a legend.

As America searches for ways to tackle the huge issues surrounding race and policing, one police chief believes he has the answers – and others are starting to listen.

Nerdy, THANKS for this cornucopia of info; I’ll be up reading all night! Fortunately, I’ve got great music in the background — WURD is jammin’ tonight! BB King, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and everybody else (late ’60’s, early ’70’s)

    “May 18, 2015 —
Among the sea of towering, six-foot tall, slender-built Marines in the marching companies at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., there is a small, select group that easily stand out in formation – the body bearers of Bravo Company.

The body bearers have the solemn and honorable duty of laying their brethren to rest at Arlington National Cemetery and other locations throughout the National Capital Region.

“The primary mission of the body bearers is to perform flawless funerals for the Marines and Marine family members at Arlington National Cemetery,” said Lance Cpl. Michael Ryder, guide, body bearer platoon, B Co…”

Many thanks NW – does that item on braiding remove any doubt that GOP legislatures believe in way too much government of the people. They say they are against “big government” but that appears to only relate to big business – they do like to overpower us ordinary mortals with nonsense. What an amazing person is Isis Brantley to keep up the fight.

Just discovered recently that he’s the grandson of the famous film baron of Goldwyn-Mayer. Made me like him a little more that he doesn’t seem to trade on that…

He is a tireless advocate for The Innocence Project, abolition of the death penalty, lobbying for arts, and for Democrats. A good person. He recently appeared at a fundraiser for The Atlantic Center for Capital Representation. He was so gracious, posing for endless photos and selfies until his face must have felt frozen.

On Friday morning my left ear is going to have a piece of it removed (hopefully a small piece) in order to remove a cancerous growth. The good news is I could probably lose the whole ear and be just fine. The moral of this is – don’t forget your ears when you are applying sunblock. 🙂

  35. May 21, 2015 at 6:14 am

The tweets on Poverty break me…the obscenity of it all is that we can solve poverty….there is no reason for it to exist…just as there was no reason for Americans to have no health care…

do we have the will to end poverty…we know what it takes…

one of the ways is to elect people into office who have the will…but Americans take their democracy for granted..we can’t be bothered to vote…

    • 96 0388jojothecat
      May 21, 2015 at 8:41 am

It is because some people would rather believe there will ALWAYS be poverty somewhere so why try and solve it if I have to pay more taxes because of “lazy” people. It is engraved in some people’ DNA so they can sleep at night.

why should they care? the sheeples elect them term after term after term after term …. so, they feel validated in whatever they are doing.

  37. May 21, 2015 at 8:32 am

They don’t care because Americans do not VOTE….why should they be afraid of an electorate that doesn’t vote….If the citizens of America do not take their democracy seriously..then well…………. you fill in the sentence!
