Pete Souza: “Call it the Shake Shack slide. As he is wont to do, the President normally does a group photo with restaurant staff when he stops for lunch or dinner somewhere. After having lunch with Vice President Biden at a Shake Shack in Washington, D.C., the President asked me where he should stand for the photo. Before I could even reply, the President jumped on the counter and slid onto the other side. The Vice President soon followed.” May 16, 2014

Perfect collection of photos to start the weekend. I hope when our President has no public events, it means he can chill out with his family and have some time off. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Morning everyone! It’s Saturday and it must’ve rained all night here! Smells good, feels good. A little cooler than we’re used to now, but I’ll take it…soon enough it’ll be stupid hot and I hate that part:)

Chips, may I suggest that you take Danny for short car rides now….. most dogs LOVE car rides. Make a BFD out of the whole thing and he’ll be excited with you. When he figures out that he didn’t end up at the vet for some invasive probing or a painful injection and instead gets to see a new set of bushes and trees…well, he’ll be happier than a pig in shit! Just sayin’……

Have to agree with Desertflower. Megan loved the car once she realized I wasn’t taking her to the vet. They seem to know just how long it takes to get to the vets after that period show would settle down and just enjoy her ride. She was the best friend to have in the car when traveling. We would go from MN to TX and honest gawd she knew when I turned on the road to our old hose she would start going nuts and crying the car. Her antenna was fixed no doubt about it. 🙂

        GM Roberta.

Great story about Megan and traveling in the car. Condolences that you and Megan can’t go on any more roadtrips. What breed was she?

Had she lived or visited the TX house before? The smells (or navigational sonar) must have alerted her to happy times. 🙂

Yes we had lived there for 5 years and went back twice. I had her for 16 1/2 years and just put her down last December. I still miss her. She was a rascal and just so darned much fun. She knew when we got to my Sisters in Duluth, to visit anyone. They seem to know just how long it takes to go to the Vet and once past that, she was just fine. LOL. We could be 2 days on the road (she hated hotel/motel rooms) but the ret of the time she was trooper.

Top ISIS commander killed by US special operation forces. President Barack Obama ordered the raid that killed Abu Sayyaf. U.S. officials said his wife, Umm Sayyaf, was captured in the raid and was being held in Iraq.

  7. May 16, 2015 at 9:30 am

I am sure you guys have heard about the special US operation that went on in Syria last night. It kill a important financial member of ISIS, capture his wife, and hopefully they got there hands on alot of information, like just who is supporting ISIS.

    • May 16, 2015 at 9:32 am

Thank you Deb, I didn’t have the name of the ISIS leader killed.

    • May 16, 2015 at 9:49 am

I think that we will not be surprised who is financing this group…it will read like a James Bond Movie…

Little off topic, I was listening to NPR interview a military drone operator and he was talking about how he operates drones to attack the enemy and how he goes home to his wife and kid. He sounded more disappointed than thankful….so weird. I would rather wage combat through drone than the alternative, be separated from family, be in danger of getting PTSD, mamed, or killed.

so now, will that hersh idjit claim (one year or two years down the road) that the isis commander was indeed handed over by the syrians due to some ‘deal’ between the kenyan and the syrians?

Sometimes I wonder how these scenes play out when one of President Obama’s assistants comes and tells him that another terrorist has been killed. I wonder if he’s in a meeting and someone walks in and whispers in his ear, he gives a slight nod, and he goes about his business like nothing happened.

    • May 16, 2015 at 10:48 am

I would give anything to witness those moments! He’s such a cool cat.

One day I want to be standing in front of a big window looking out and someone comes up to me and whispers something important in my ear like I’m the President or an owner of a fortune five-hundred company. But the only thing I get is my wife whispering in my ear that I need to cut the grass.

  14. May 16, 2015 at 10:46 am

    WOW. Amazing.
