Hijacking this, because Oh My Lord. Just finished watching the Premier League Preview, and John Carter (NOT John Carter of Mars), coach of Newcastle, said, with a straight face, that he’s the “best coach in the Premier League”. Denial is, as always, not just a river in Egypt.

Good evening TOD! This president in SD was simply the best without the usual MSM garbage. Here’s a little video of PBO meeting and greeting the girl who wrote him the letter about his failure to visit. In addition to a hug and photos, looks like she got a little treat from PBO as well. I do not envy anyone who has to follow him in office. He is such a caring person, an impossible act to follow.

What a wonderful moment between our President and the little girl who wrote to him. And the local media were genuine and real about how much this would mean in that young girl’s life.

    • May 8, 2015 at 11:02 pm

That was so nice of our POTUS, that little girl will never forget that.

      • May 8, 2015 at 11:08 pm

Yes I know this POTUS and this FLOTUS will be a hard act to follow. And I can’t even let myself think about the time when they will no longer be in that White House. But I must admit I fine myself counting the months, the time.

Nerdy, this is a stunning collection of photos that made my day. It’s wonderful and refreshing to see our president so loved and appreciated by people and the media who aren’t jaded by cynicism. Thank you for bringing it all here.

Wow! Wonder did POTUS watch the Cavs-Bulls game tonight. Derrick Rose just hit a jumper with the time running out to give the Bulls the win. A really good game, Bulls lead 2 games to 1.

My heart goes out to the Father, two sons and one of the son’s girlfriend who’s single engine plane crashed on I-85 in Atlanta today. They were on the way to the third sons graduation. May they rest in peace and may God bring some comfort to the son who just lost his family to this tragedy. The plane burst into flames on the highway and there were no survivors.

i was over at charles pierce’s blog, reading his grumblings, and those of his regular commenters–usually savvy, if snarky, folks. i asked the same question (rhetorically): did they even listen to his speech? do they read what he has presented? pierce says it’s time for the president to ‘give some fks again’. really???

      • May 8, 2015 at 11:14 pm

Good grief. I hate how misinformed the general populace is. But for people who write and hang out on blogs and know how to Google? Unforgivable.

        Loved it.

Every time a RWNJ uses the “Don’t tread on me” flag inappropriately on twitter (like in an anti-Obamacare rant), we could post this with the comment, “Well, then, don’t s–t on me!”

“It’s something not many people can say — that they’ve hugged the President, let alone met the President. But one lucky 11-year-old girl from Vermillion, Rebecca Kelley, can say she’s done both. And it all started with a letter to President Obama. Rebecca wrote the president saying she’s absolutely heart-broken he had not been to South Dakota yet. Little did she know, that letter would end up in President Obama’s hands. He invited Rebecca to Watertown to meet him. “There’s really no words to describe the feeling,” said Rebecca.A moment Rebecca says she’ll always remember.

“And then he gave me some presidential kisses and this little coin and then I gave him this — a full heart saying thanks for coming. Then he signed it and gave it back to me. And that’s the story,” said Rebecca. A little girl with a big heart and a dream that became reality — meeting the President of the United States. “I’ll probably eat the chocolates and then keep this and the wrappers. That’s what I’ll do,” said Rebecca.”

  23. May 8, 2015 at 11:33 pm

“…It was the greatest experience of my life outside of the birth of my children and marrying my wife,” said Watertown native Jim Madison. “I think this is the greatest thing that’s happened in Watertown, certainly in the 30 years we’ve been there, but probably quite far back in history.” The President finally stepped foot in South Dakota, the last stop on his journey to visit all 50 states. The people of Watertown couldn’t be more honored the President chose their town to make his historic stop in. “Its one of the biggest things to happen since Watertown became a town,” said Jason Gabbert, who came from Minnesota..continued”
