Well, they’ve got their “token” who happens to be paranoid to boot. Double bonus.

You know, GGail, I think that Dr. Ben Carson is not well mentally. Just as brilliant doctors are not immune to diseases like cancer, brilliant doctors are not immune from mental illness.

I was listening this Cleveland pastor tonight and he was talking about Tamir Rice. Tamir’s mother was there at the church, and that pastor was talking about how it was ashame that it has taken over five months and that DA still have not decide if he will bring charges against those two officers who murder that 12 year old boy. He asked that anyone who can to contact the DA whose name is Timothy McGinty , call his office or email his office and tell him that we want justice for Tamir Rice. So I am planning to email that DA tonight. If anyone else is interested in doing the same, go to this website, wordcity.org.

    Wooooooooooot!!!!!

Will Smith as Deadshot in the new Suicide Squad movie. Jared Leto as The Joker.

    I. Can’t. Wait.

    • May 3, 2015 at 11:25 pm

“…In the photo, Will Smith is locked and loaded as Deadshot, third from the right next to Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Also there is Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo. While Viola Davis, Common and Scott Eastwood are also in the film, the absence of Leto’s Joker from today’s photo will probably get the most attention other than Robbie’s literally killer smile…” What a cast!!!!

Is Deadshot the same character that shows up in DC Comics Arrow?

        May 4, 2015 at 12:48 am

        Yup.

I’m interested to see Will Smith’s take on the character, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adewale as Killer Croc, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker.

        Should be fun.

This year and next year look to be chock full of super hero type movies.

Hope! Not naive enough to think all is right with Iran, but progress is progress and more engagement will lead to improved human rights.

And on the book note, anyone interested in additional info on Michelle, I highly recommend Michelle Obama: A Life by Peter Slavin. I managed to stay away from it for most of the day but then couldn’t resist. I am stunned at how much she has accomplished in her working life that I never heard or read about before. For those who think they would rather hear it in her words, I’m not sure Michelle herself would set out as many of her accomplishments as this book does. In many ways her jobs involved as much if not more “community organizing” than PBO’s did. Haven’t finished it yet but I’m now up to the point they are in the WH and I suspect less will be new to me than those prior years. Didn’t think I could respect her more but her accomplishments in her own right are amazing. Unfortunately, they have not received nearly enough attention, I suspect by design given the flack she took during the campaign. In any event, if I was going to pick up one book to read about her this is/was the right one:-)

      Stellar toon roundup, LP!

Love the baby elephant photos, with Secretary Kerry’s new friend’s trunk wrapped around his arm — baby obviously doesn’t want him to go. So adorable. Elephants are amazing creatures, so sensitive and caring, and in matriarchal herds.

P.S. Just noticed yesterday that I wasn’t following you on twitter — don’t know how that happened, thought I’d been following you for ages. Corrected that mistake.

What I find interesting is when the shooter is some random non-muslim his religion does not make headlines but when it’s a muslim it does make headlines and people seem to be obsessed about the religion all the sudden. On Facebook for example its all about religion and are filled with bitter hate filled comments. Maybe these self righteous people need to realize that they are the reason these sorts of things are occurring.

When I first read about it Jeff – I thought we are going to go from “thugs” to “terrorists”. And why is ANYONE having a “Draw Muhammad” contest!! Imagine the outrage if there was a similar contest related to the Christian religion. Wonder if there is truly some weird additives in the water in Texas.

Like behead a christian day where you take a Manichean with a the words Christian carved on his chest and proceed to decapitate it.

THIS! This this this this this! I remember Al Giordano saying much the same thing. People talk about Republicans not really wanting to govern, but I think that some on the left don’t really want the responsibility of governing either. They just want to take potshots and throw stones at the people who do.

Why am I NOT surprised in the slightest? Remember when Janet Napolitano said that homegrown terrorists were the biggest threat to US and the RW all laughed at her? I do.
