Morning all. Love the very romantic randomness photo. I hope that when PBO writes his post-presidency book, he devotes a chapter to Michelle and the way that her love sustained him. She’s the one person in the world with whom he can be fully himself.
On another, bummer note, I seem to have developed an intestinal flu kind of thing that’s making me very tired. I’m still going to push for a walk this morning because the real miracle medicine is fresh air.

Hamilton is a hip-hop influenced musical about Alexander Hamilton now showing at Public Theater in NYC. It’s become the hit show of the season with a sold-out run off-Broadway and is most likely headed to Broadway soon. It was written and composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays Hamilton. Here’s a snippet of him performing one of the songs from the show at the White House poetry jam back in 2009. POTUS and FLOTUS seem very entertained.
Love it all! I’d have to listen about 15 times to get all the info he delivers. What an awesome mashup! I’d reeeeeeally like to see the play. These Obamas! Always introducing us to new and delightful things! It’s amazing just how much they have managed to fulfill their goal of making the White House the People’s House. I don’t really even notice it anymore. It’s just the way things are. and I hope they continue to be that way, whoever comes next.

Such a great energetic song! I remember watching some documentary, movie or reading a book about Alexander Hamilton and thinking at that time that his life was stranger than fiction. I spent a year of my life after first retiring putting in order on My Netflix list movies and documentaries about every US President and watching them in order. Even though Hamilton was not a President due to being born outside the U.S. he came up in other’s movies over and over again. The exercise was fun and interesting.
Calling President Obama a “feminized man” aside, since when was it okay to call women bitches? And does Dowd suggest that Hillary act like a bitch just to win the election? I mean we almost torture rappers for calling women bitches but Dowd thinks its a badge of honor. President Obama done made these people lose their collective minds.

I was thinking the same thing GGail. Although sometimes, I think the name “Obama” carries it’s own gravitas and recognition and folks are not necessarily being disrespectful when they leave out “President” in the tweets/headline.
But if in fact they ARE being disrespectful, they can KMA!
My main concern is that they place Matthews’ chair far enough away from PBO’s so his spittle doesn’t get anywhere near the President. That’s one interview I don’t think I’ll be watching as that man’s bumbling and dribbling nauseate me.
Hi, Hopef! I confess I have very little respect for Matthews, and his interview ‘style’ really, really disgusts me. Not important, but the first time I saw him talking with his wife on TV I was shocked. She seemed so much more together I was left wondering why *she* wasn’t also turned off by his speech ‘etiquette’.
Perhaps he operates differently at home, although my sense is that this is his personality. So his wife probably puts up with stuff for her own personal reasons…
CM talks over his guests right after he asks questions not allowing them to answer in full. I imagine I will hate his interview as much as the Faux interviews.
