Chat Away

On This Day: President Obama plays with Leo Chaudhary, son of White House Videographer Arun Chaudhary, right, and Chaudhary’s wife, Laura Moser, prior to a Seder with friends and staff in the State Dining Room of the White House, April 18, 2011 (Photo by Pete Souza)

(If Chelsea hold this 1-0 lead against United, I’ll have a Billy Joel special later – just to complete the day’s misery).

As I told one family member of mine today……NW, LL would be dancing in the streets and Chips, GGail, perhaps, Amk would be singing the blues. So per Rooney, they played better and lost to Chelsea, by One to Nil. Chelsea is Number One and Manchester United is Number 3. Good Luck Bts.

It is a beautiful day here in North Carolina, in the high 70’s. Beautiful day to be out playing golf, or just outside. I hope POTUS get the chance to play alittle golf.

Which is why the RW tries to make voting SO HARD! Don’t let them take your voice away!!! VOTE. EVERY.TIME.

Need We Not Forget the insane attack engineered and mounted by McCain, Graham and Co against Dr Susan Rice to deny her the SoS job.

    • April 20, 2015 at 3:42 am

Jeff Gauvin is absolutely spot-on! The way right wingers, Republicans, and I confess some leftists Democrats/progressives. have behaved ever since Barack Obama was elected President of the United States, is so reminiscent of the way whites, including so called progressive whites, reacted to the Reconstruction period after the Civil War when finally African American were recognized as citizens and allowed to participate in the governing of the country.

i wonder if the press will give him the kind of coverage that they give to the others…

      • April 20, 2015 at 3:54 am

Prettyfoot, I am absolutely certain that the so called mainstream media/press will never give the NY mayor, Bill de Blasio, the same kind of coverage that they routinely give right wing nuts on the Republican party. Obviously, if the mayor decides to attack President Obama and his policies then the media will give him all the coverage he wants.

pf58, he not only think, he knows. People are tired of the Bushes and the only thing in Hillary favor is she is a woman. Alot of people say it’s time for a female president.

    • April 20, 2015 at 4:05 am

At least GW Bush is honest. He knows exactly the horrendously fucked-up domestic and foreign reality he left to President Obama to try to clean up. People promoting Jeb Bush are trying to capitalize on the short term memory of a great many of American voters.

do not know much about WEBB

    • April 18, 2015 at 6:15 pm

Interesting Man. Is he angling fo VP. I think most of the others in the Democratic field are just auditioning for that role against the inevitability of Hilary.

      • April 18, 2015 at 6:37 pm

i remember when PBO ran…he stated why he ran for President Hillary Clinton said that she was running to be America’s Champion…O’Malley and Webb…and the VP….have yet to say why they want to be President…i await to hear the news

        • April 18, 2015 at 6:50 pm

I guess their TV chatter is all meaningless until they actually commit but Webb sounds serious. In the end, its all about getting the money to mount something. A message without money has got to be compelling enough to make people take notice. Should be interesting.

          • April 18, 2015 at 7:06 pm

that is so true vetivera…let me tell you about an exchange i had the last time i worked on the polls…it was November… 2014…i was working with a long time dem person in my new voting district…he was anticipating a low turn out…(he was wrong we got 51%, un heard of in the midterms) he talk about how it was when the President ran…high turn out…i told him that the President was able to pull out 4 classification of voters…1. voters who vote all the time..2. voters who only vote in the Presidential elections…3. voter who are registered but hardly ever vote and 4. unregistered voters…he told me that it takes money and organization to pull out all 4 classification of voters….he said that they only can concentrate on voters 1 and 2…so yes….it requires money..but it also requires a grass root organization…i sometimes think that party bosses want enough turnout to win…but they are not interested in organizing or empowering the grass roots

            • April 18, 2015 at 8:48 pm

A big mistake. GOP seem to be able to do that. Their base is strong. I can’t believe that approx 18% of the total population voted in the current Govt. Elections are personal. People have to be invested in the outcome of an election but it does start with the grass root organizations finding, reaching and educating the heart of those voters.

              • April 18, 2015 at 8:52 pm

The GOP uses hatred and fear and racism to get their voters out…they use lies and voter suppression as tools….the President has shown the DEM Party that if you empower people…call on them to be active citizens…we will come out to vote….because HOPE is stronger than fear..i hope that the DEM Party learns these lessons

                • April 18, 2015 at 9:00 pm

Amen! Hope is what keeps us breathing. Whenever I feel like giving up I listen to any one of PBO’s speeches and come right back to fighting for what’s important

Saw Webb interviewed on one of the MSNBC shows and was not impressed. He had actually been a Republican for quite awhile and sounded worse than Hillary to me. I was not impressed about how he stood on issues.

Tehran, April 18, IRNA — First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Saturday that Iran and G5+1 are on the last step, they have reached agreements on all points except writing context of the deal.
In Iran all people fully back the government, even the opponents of the government call for removal of economic sanctions.

If the Zionist regime and certain Arab governments and US congress not to create any obstacle in the coming two months, the comprehensive deal will be achieved, he said.

Media should reflect the realities and avoid creating irrational expectations among people, he said.

Ebola was the “News” before the 2014 Nov elections so were ISIL/Daesh and Influx of Immigrants from The TX borders.
HIV and the Jailing of an Indian American to 20 yrs for having had a miscarriage from a Violent Rape crime in Indiana are currently being ignored by the US Media……WHY?
So why is HIV epidemic in a town in 2015 in IN…….Is not a nationally worthy News?

Disgusting. Money trumps all. Trumps our national treasures, trumps our water supply, trumps a Wonder of the World…this is so repulsive I want to crawl out of my skin!!!

If the thought of popping in to Olive Garden for some never ending breadsticks while a critically endangered California Condor spirals overhead isn’t horrifying enough, just last week a federal judge overturned a 20-year ban on uranium mining at a site just miles away from the canyon’s edge.

This decision, coupled with the potential Escalade and Tusayan projects, led to the Colorado River—the venerable, powerful river that carved out the Grand Canyon and provides water to 30 million people—being named our nation’s “most endangered river” by the American Rivers Association.

As for the Escalade project, it’s currently awaiting the final green light from the Navajo Nation Council, which could come as early as this spring. In the meantime, if you had been dreaming of a Grand Canyon vacation, better do it quick.
