More re: Rubio. He ran down a list of everything he thinks needs to be changed. Ironically, most of what he listed he actively has fought against in the Senate!! Eventually, that will be pointed out while he is on a stage and he won’t be able to escape the questions. And referring to a new American century as his theme…..!! Where has he been!?
I listened to his speech and I was not impressed! It sounded so melodramatic and forced. The boy is not ready for prime-time. And, yes, I would like to know where he has been. I guess that he has been busy being impressed with his press!

I hope that is true – but it will probably be other candidates rather than the media pointing it out

Hillary Clinton will be no match for that. In fact, no one will. Barack Obamas don’t come along every election cycle. Leaders of President Obama’s caliber come along once a century; once a half century if we’re lucky. Comparing the next president to Barack Obama will result in monumental disappointment, regardless of who succeeds him to the Oval Office. That’s the hard truth.
Another hard truth is that the next president does not need to be another Barack Obama. What we need for the next two presidential terms is a maintenance president. We need a maintenance president who will not allow the GOP to repeal or gut the monumental and transformative achievements of the Obama years. We need a maintenance president who will competently maintain the Affordable Care Act, the banking reform, and President Obama’s new start in foreign policy.

oh not spandan now too?!? my god, lady walmart was a horrible senator, mediocre s.o.s. (compare to what john kerry has been doing!), and a disaster as a campaigner. biggest problem with all these theories is that SHE CANNOT WIN A NATIONAL ELECTION. she will not be a “maintenance president” because she will not win against “the news” machine’s republican bias and decades of divisiveness from her, her husband, and especially her team and supporters. last time i read spandan he was doing the usual tactic of taking one little thing senator elizabeth warren said that could be slight criticism of president obama and dissing her because of it. and now he’s all “aw, maybe hillary won’t be so bad.” my god, wake up people! of course i’ll vote for her if she’s the nominee, but we must, MUST do all we can to make sure she isn’t, because SHE WILL LOSE TO THE REPUBLICAN. guaranteed.
I highly doubt she would lose to any of the GOP candidates. She may well out perform PBO’s election numbers. Doesn’t mean she is a better candidate, but let’s face it, if racism was not as rampant as it is in this country PBO would ha with 60% of the vote.
As for Hillary, she isn’t my first choice, but if she ends up the candidate (not guaranteed) I will work not only to get her elected but as many Dems up and down the ticket, from dogcatcher to Senator.

WASHINGTON — More than three months into the new Congress, Senate Republicans held their first vote on one of President Barack Obama’s judicial nominees on Monday evening.
In a 95-0 vote, the Senate easily confirmed Alfred Bennett to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He fills a court seat that’s been vacant for 769 days, and one with such a heavy caseload that it’s considered a “judicial emergency.” That means the judges on that court are taking on more than 600 cases, or that they’ve carried a load of 430 to 600 cases for more than 18 months.
Republicans have been slow-walking action on Obama’s judicial nominees ever since they took control of the Senate in January — even if that has meant jamming their own nominees. Bennett, for example, has had the support of his home-state senators, John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), yet has endured committee delays and floor vote delays for weeks. Two other Texas nominees are ready for votes and could easily have been scheduled for Monday, but were not. All three were first nominated in September.

Home today from a trip to the emergency room at the hospital with severe abdominal pains last night. Taking pain medication now with appointment made for next week at my local clinic to determine diagnosis. Pain can emphasize the need for ACA. So glad I was part of the fight to get it. I really think it is so important to have a Dem President that supports ACA as our next President.

My update on Katie and her baby girl. They both are laying down and resting. This is the first time that I’ve seen Mama Katie off her feet since her baby was born. This is a good sign that all is well with both of them. đ
