Glad to our President home safe & sound. What a 3 days he had, I think I will watch MTP just to see how stupid these people are today. LOL.
Good Morning TOD’ers. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE COVERAGE OF THIS South American Summit. 🙂

Morning, Roberta. Has Minnesota decided that it’s Spring yet? Today fickle PA is giving us a tentative “yes,” but I’m too jaded to believe it’s anything but a short term con.

GM Jackie, yes we had nice weather yesterday finally got out of the house and today we are supposed to hit close to 70. So it is finally coming. LOL. Are any of your Spring flowers popping up yet? we don’t have that, we’ve had a lot of rain and the grass is green. But we had a pretty deep freeze so it may take a bit for the flowers to pop up yet.

Yes, Roberta, we’ve got some beautiful purple crocuses and the daffodils have peeked through, but haven’t open yet. In some yards I n see hyacinths blooming.

Morning all. I hope our President sleeps late, has a great breakfast and gets to play golf with his friends. I suspect he doesn’t turn on or tune in to any news today. Why should he? He is the news and I’m sure he’s past caring what the low class msm think of him.

    • April 12, 2015 at 8:58 am

Good morning to ya Jackie! I hope he puts up his feet, gets out the Cheesy Puffs and watches Manchester United beat Manchester City today 😎

Well, Chips, to each his own. To some people–not naming names–eating Cheesy Puffs and watching soccer would fall somewhere around 20,000th in the list of enjoyable things to do.

With his knowledge of most everything I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew all the stats of ManU. My guess is that even if he gets in a round of his own he’s going to have one eye on the Masters hoping Tiger can tear up the course again today. He still won’t win as he’s 10 behind -16 Jordan Spieth but he’s looking good!

This is the place you take your children when they ask, “Are we there yet.” Every single town should have a place like this. I would sell it as a backdrop for family portraits.

General Electric (GE) has announced it will sell nearly all of its property portfolio, worth $26.5bn, to funds including Wells Fargo and Blackstone.

    ///

Furthermore, the US Financial Stability Oversight Council has declared several financial firms outside the banking sector – such as GE’s – to be so big that failure of those businesses could threaten markets.

“This move would relieve GE of the part of the business that is becoming volatile. Basically, they have to become a lot less general, and a lot more electric.”

G’morning Chips, TOD, even amk, lurkers, and congrats Roberta on #1! 🙂 Glad to see that my President is safely back home, and Happy Sunday everyone. Not sure I will be on Twitter much today (for obvious reasons).

There was something a bit cryptic in PBO’s response to the Q about HRC…he kept saying “If she announces…” Maybe I’m just reading too much into it. But regardless, I look forward to another great 18 months with our fabulous President, his wonderful administration and First Family.

It’s looks as if I’m going to have to find a Hillary game face when dealing with voters from now on. Yesterday I was asked about Hillary by several potential voters and my husband says I unconsciously grimaced when her name was mentioned. He said it was probably not the best image to project to people who may want to vote for her. So I’m going to practice the noncommittal ‘smile’ whenever her name comes up so no one can accuse me depressing voter enthusiasm. Look for my name on next year’s Best Actress nominations.

Of course, Chips. I will say that I owe everything to TODers whose relentless dedication made me the acting success I am. I will even willingly share the Oscar around on a rotating basis–you first.

I’ll have to practice something like that as well…it’s so haaaaaard! I think I might get a constipated look on my face when I hear her name…I can’t help it. I will have to do a lot of avoiding, I think:)

    • April 12, 2015 at 9:27 am

I feel some what like that myself jackie. I am refusing to watch any news this morning cause it’s all over the news and I am not into Hillary running for President. But jackie I guess you can tell anyone who ask you about Hillary this, if she keeps those sorry ass Republicans out of the WH I am all for Hillary.

      • April 12, 2015 at 9:30 am

Turn the attention from Hillary to on those sorry “A” Republicans who we can’t stand.

      • 32 jackiegrumbacher
        April 12, 2015 at 9:35 am

Bella, I try to turn them into voters. If they come out to vote–even for Hillary–they are also voting for Democratic senators and members of Congress. We need turnout in every election because that’s the only way to beat back the Republican menace.

Brilliantly put, jackie. I will have to do the same. Many of my Downtown friends love Hillary so I have been faking it in public since 2007. Everyone knows I love PBO but I have been careful to hide my feeling about the Entitled Lady Walmart.

Thrilled for our POTUS and glad he home, safe and sound with his gorgeous family and faithful pets. I’m sure the golf course calls and I hope he spends the entire day out there and then watches his believed ESPN.

Here’s the thing. These are African American men doing extraordinary things, tackling very difficult issues in an EXTREMELY dangerous environment. I think we have to give it time because they know more of the details than we do. I always think stuff is going on behind the scenes that can’t be talked about. Dot every “i” and cross every “t”.

          THIS

POTUS and Holder is leaving office and I bet you when Holder finally leaves, there will be a lasting legacy in place to stop this genocide.

Repubs will regret the fact that they are holding up the process for Loretta Lynch.

The Australian government has announced that it intends to stop welfare payments to parents who refuse to vaccinate their children.

The “no jab, no pay” policy may cost parents more than A$11,000 a year per child in lost benefit payments.

Families with children not immunised have been able to receive childcare cash if they have a philosophical or religious objection to vaccines.

PM Tony Abbott said that the rules would soon be substantially tightened.

He said that there would only be a small number of religious and medical exceptions to the new rules – supported by the Labor opposition and due to come into effect in early 2016.

After watching President Obama’s press conference yesterday in which he spoke about Hillary Clinton, I’m officially endorsing Hillary Clinton for President. This endorsement is contingent upon Vice President Joe Biden, former Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick, Governor Martin O’Malley and Senator Elizabeth Warren NOT running for President.

Yeah, you may be right on the voice. I’m going to pretend to listen to her for the first time and try to get her hedging “he’s a Muslim” answer; “There is no basis for that. I take him on the basis of what he says and there isn’t any reason to doubt that. No, no, there’s nothing to base that on –as far as I know.” Clinton soundtrack out of my head.

I have been reading around the ridges that she intends to run on “finishing PBO’s program. Seems she realises that is the only way to get elected. I hope this is right

        • April 12, 2015 at 11:34 am

I’ve read everything from choosing to distance from PBO as the chosen model to walking the fine line of supporting some of his actions. It’s clear there’s a big argument within her campaign as to what road to take. Just that alone shows me fear her calculus is messed up.

          • 93 99ts
            April 12, 2015 at 11:44 am

I have no idea why she so wants to be President – does really seem to me to be well past her time – but if she is going to run, she will need PBO to get out the vote.

            • April 12, 2015 at 11:49 am

The report that came from her team yesterday is that she wants to use him in so-called Black areas but not places like Ohio and PA. That’s just an ugly strategy and I hope PBO doesn’t get involved in that kind of nonsense.

I heard that former State Dept Press Secretary this morning (the one that was fired) answering a question on what Hillary will offer. His answer was that the economy is better, but not growing as fast as some would like. He also mentioned that Hillary will be hoping that people remember the good old Clinton days, when the economy was strong, the US was well regarded on the world stage, and engaged globally. I couldn’t help but think to myself that the “good old Clinton days” look a lot like the “current day President Obama days” that we’re living in now. What ELSE does she have up her sleeve to offer, because that Press Sec said nothing about extending the gains that President Obama has put in motion, and preventing the damage that the Republicans are promising. It’s not that hard. Seems like she’s planning to run on making the President’s record seem mediocre, and that she plans to do better than him. Not sure what she’ll be basing that on, since she doesn’t have a track record of making anything better. Should be an interesting year…
