The judge in the Hernandez has warned the local NBC reporters that stalking the jurors could cause a mistrial. Apparently they have been following at least 2 of the jurors in the NBC van.

PF, are you on twitter right now? What is your ‘Notification’ showing? Mine is showing Mar. 28-29 and I know I’ve had responses lately. I can’t seem to get beyond March 28-29.

      • April 9, 2015 at 3:46 pm

prettyfoot58, I am with you. You first respect the fact that the man is married. Then you show that you have some class and respect yourself. Which this PM has not done.

You know Pf58, they all (we all here) love PBO! Remember some of us cringed at Australia’s Julia Gillard response to him? Remember those older ladies whom *we* thought seemed to pat him in way too friendly a fashion during his 1st campaign? I’ve come to the conclusion people who are in his presence infrequently, particularly women, cannot seem to restrain themselves from showing this love when they do meet or see him. That’s my story, having seen it happen so often. πŸ˜€

        • April 9, 2015 at 5:14 pm

He is magnetic, mesmerizing in person.

            April 9, 2015 at 5:38 pm

That I very much believe, Zizi! How are you?

Based on my exposure to both the Obamas, it’s becoming clear to me that their genuine love of people evinces love from those they meet. It just does! Our culture’s only focus seems to be on amorous love to the exclusion of all others (except maybe, familial), so every hug, kiss, declaration, etc to someone of the opposite sex (who is not a family member) becomes suspect, or suggestive, or is ‘too much’.

Maybe because we’ve been reared to see it this way, I don’t know, but I do know I’m now questioning my own initial response when I see people hug POTUS/FLOTUS too ‘closely’. Fact is, I **love** President Obama, I have for years now – he has changed my life for certain sure! However, I have no sexual desires or thoughts for him, but if I met him in person and had a chance to hug him I would do so without considering what other people might think. I think he is an awesome man and a wonderful leader. I would react the same to FLOTUS given the opportunity, because she too is a warm, open, caring person and I love her too.

Maybe if the person tweeting had also put the first part of her words in quotes this wouldn’t seem so ‘ugh!’ As in “You are very loved by the Jamaican people. I can say very publicly I love you.”

      • 39 GGail
        April 9, 2015 at 3:42 pm

vc, I also think the photo along with the words is the cause for all of this attention. I’m sure the PM doesn’t have any designs on PBO and that like us all, she admires him greatly and is proud of this black man who is President of the United States, but the picture and the words convey something else.

We’re all so worried that the msm will latch onto anything to smear our beloved President. I know I am

        • April 9, 2015 at 3:53 pm

Let’s wait and see the first of the media who has something to say about the picture. Remember the selfie at Mandala funeral and how it was all about FLOTUS facial expression.

        • 41 vcprezofan2
          April 9, 2015 at 3:56 pm

Hiya, GxG! ‘The picture and the words convey something else’ is exactly why I think her comment was portrayed thus. A responsible media person/tweeter could have shared this differently but that probably wouldn’t have garnered his/her desired reaction. Now, this is where we differ because I’ve become so sated with all of the MSM imaginings with regards to this president over the years – none of which has been validated – that I’m not worried about any smears they can devise. PBO has behaved with character in the public eye for years now; he is a principled person who, I think, enjoys people. He doesn’t step out of line and he cannot control what others do in situations as this. I am genuinely not worried about *anything* the media can TRY to use to smear PBO – I simply won’t believe them. πŸ˜€ >Of course, you will remember from last night that I have my own worries – flying; flying at night

I teased with my words, but I am always worried about people trying to take advantage of his good nature and friendliness.

Now, he’s speaking with these young folks and I’m so proud of him for doing so.

A white officer in South Carolina who fatally shot an unarmed black man in his driveway in 2014 was arrested on a felony weapons charge Tuesday — the same day that officer Michael Slager was charged with murder over the shooting of Walter Scott.

Justin Gregory Craven, 25, was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, according to the state’s Law Enforcement Division. The North Augusta public safety officer is accused of shooting and killing 68-year-old Ernest Satterwhite in his driveway on Feb. 9, 2014, during a traffic stop. Craven fired repeatedly through the driver-side door of Satterwhite’s car after the victim had fully stopped in his driveway, according to the Edgefield Daily at the time.

Craven was arrested in Edgefield County the same day Slager was charged with murder after Sunday’s shooting in North Charleston, about 150 miles away. The cases share several characteristics: They both started as a traffic stop, they were both caught on camera, and both responding officers alleged in followup reports that the victims grabbed for the officer’s weapon.

Sad, but true. A lot of “americanized” US students are self-centered and selfish. If it isn’t on twitter, FB or YouTube, they don’t care. It used to amaze me and now I don’t even discuss anything with the two young people in my office about anything. Hell, they don’t even bother to vote – locally or nationally.

Because there was a car in the driveway when I peeked out the window, I went to answer WITH my laptop in hand!! πŸ˜€ I felt a bit guilty but explained that I had not remembered the appointment and can we reschedule?
