It really needs to be remembered that the UN Security Council will determine Iran’s fate re: sanctions and that Congress has no sway over the instructions President Obama gives to Ambassador Power as to how the US votes.
The P5+1 (including the US, led by President Obama) are going to do the deal.
The US Congress is merely setting itself up to be, once again, humiliated by President Obama.

If the US cannot live up to its commitments under the agreement, it is hard to believe that Iran will continue with it. While Congress may refuse to lift the Congressional sanctions imposed on Iran, the rest of the world doesn’t have to go along with Congressional idiocy. More importantly. I am writing my two Senators to strongly urge them to support the President. I don’t want to see more Americans coming home in body bags or maimed for life. Every Senator who wants a war with Iran should be willing to volunteer, or to have his military age children volunteer, to go serve in that war. I am sick and tired of chicken-hawk war mongers who love to sacrifice other people’s children in stupid wars that can never absolutely guarantee the security of this country.

I am going to spend several hours tomorrow flooding Senate Democrats with phone calls. One of the stupidest things Senate Dems can do is make Schumer Dem leader in the Senate. Do those idiots in the Senate have any idea how that will be perceived by Dems throughout the nation?! Mr. NeW York/Wall Street/Sen AIPAC/smooth old Monopoly Man is in charge. What message does that give Dems throughout the nation? Especial if/when he challenges and sabotages our first AA President? It certainly doesn’t inspire us to believe that the Dems give a damn about any of us ordinary folk. Or about our struggles. Or about the fate of the nation. The BEST thing they could do is put a woman in charge. Like Patty Murphy. Someone who actually seems to give a damn.
There does come time in life when everyone has to make a principled choice. For me, if the designated new leader of Democrats in the U.S. Senate intends to side with Republicans, on this monumental issue of war and peace, against a Democratic elected President of the United States, that will be it for me. I will cease all my support for the national Democratic party. As far as I am concerned, with Democratic friends like Chuck Schumer, who needs Republican enemies.

.in addition for putting pressure on Schumer…Reid should hear it from us as well…for the same reasons….even though by the time Schumer would take over…the deal would be done..

I never really trusted him here in NY. He is not what he perceives to be. If he and others are so loyal to Israel then send their own kids to fight their wars.
I struggle every day with the injustices Israel have done and are doing to the Palestinians and sub-Sahara Africans.
It is time for the U.N. to hold them accountable for all of their apartheid regime and investigate what they are hiding and lying about as far as their nuclear arsenals just like everyone else.
